Top safety prospect in the country teases likely commitment to Texas

Five-star safety Kamari Wilson has been active on social media recently, all signs point towards a potential Texas commitment.

We’re starting to witness the ripple effect on the recruiting trail after five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers announced his commitment to the University of Texas.

It appears that other highly sought-after prospects were paying close attention to where Ewers chose to continue his playing career. Since the announcement, several of the top recruits in the 2022 recruiting class have begun to tease their decisions on social media.

It makes sense considering many of these players want to attend a program that gives them the most realistic shot at competing for a championship immediately. If Texas is able to land a chunk of the nation’s top prospects on both sides of the ball, that’s certainly a great start.

Five-star safety Kamari Wilson has arguably been the most active on Twitter. Although he’s yet to announce an official commitment, all signs point toward the Longhorns. To add the cherry on top, Wilson even has Texas football listed in the description of his Instagram biography.

Wilson is the top safety prospect in the country according to 247Sports Composite. He’s a two-sport athlete in football and basketball, but the Bradenton, Florida native excels on the field.

In 2019, Wilson was a TCPalm first-team all-area selection as a sophomore at Fort Pierce Westwood. He compiled 114 tackles and five interceptions, scoring five total touchdowns in the process.

Texas cornerbacks coach Jay Valai has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail throughout his short stint in Austin thus far. Wilson appears to be in consistent contact with Valai and has expressed appreciation for him on social media.

Take a look at Wilson’s recent activity on Twitter to see why it’s likely for Texas to land one of the most versatile playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.
