Top five running backs Texas will face in 2020

To truly be considered an elite offense in the Big 12, you also need a great ground game. Here are the top five RBs Texas will face in 2020:

No. 2 – Kennedy Brooks

School: Oklahoma

Classification: Redshirt Junior

Career vs Texas: 20 carries for 133 yards (Two games)

If you want a darkhorse Heisman candidate, look no further than Kennedy Brooks. Already coming off a 1,000-yard season, Brooks will see even more carries this upcoming season with Jalen Hurts off to the NFL and Trey Sermon transferring to Ohio State.

Add in Rhamondre Stevenson still serving a suspension for failing a drug test before last season’s College Football semi-final (pending appeal) and the Sooners are thin at running back. Spencer Rattler will still be learning the flow of college football early in the season, so Brooks will be getting a heavy workload.

Never truly effective in the Red River Shootout, this is the year for Brooks to shine. Lincoln Riley’s ground dominant offense has been running rampant these past few years and Brooks will continue the good stretch in 2020.
