After two consecutive defeats to TCU at home and Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout, Texas finally got back to their winning ways against Baylor.

Head coach Tom Herman said he was “extremely proud of the response to those challenges by not only myself and our coaches, but the leaders on the team stepping up and challenging their teammates.” With a bye mixed in, it had been a difficult three weeks for the Longhorns program.

It may not have been the most inspiring win but on paper, the Longhorns are now 2-2 in Big 12 play and still have a shot to make an appearance in the Big 12 Championship. The win over the Bears did not fix every on the field issue but was the correct step.
