The wide receiver position for the Longhorns is a loaded question. Who will start at each of the positions? One receiver who could make a difference is redshirt freshman Jordan Whittington. The main question around him revolves around his health, after all we have seen a bit of what he can do when he is on the field. He set state records for his performance in the Texas state championship during his senior year.

After playing in just one game and having to sit out the remainder of his freshman season, Whittington was going to make a change of position and go back to receiver. Likely to battle along with sophomore slot receiver Jake Smith. Whittington was ranked as a composite five-star according to 247Sports.

Whittington was finally healthy upon his return to the Forty Acres but suffered a setback during the voluntary portion of workouts recently. While he is expected to to give a go as fall camp returns to Austin, his health moving forward is the question. His ability gives him an opportunity to become a big weapon for the Longhorns offense. Even if Smith beats him out for the starting role at the slot, expect Jordan to play a hybrid role of both a runner and pass catcher.
