Texas’ offensive line sits in great shape entering the 2023 season. The Longhorns return all five starters, including second-year phenom Kelvin Banks at left tackle and super senior Chrisitan Jones at right tackle.
Banks enjoyed a freshman All-American season in 2022. The former five-star prospect lived up to the hype, starting in every game at left tackle for the Longhorns. Sky is the limit for Banks moving forward.
Jones stepped up his game during his senior year for Texas last season. The emergence of Banks allowed Jones to slide over to right tackle, where he excelled in year two under offensive line coach Kyle Flood. Jones is taking advantage of his COVID-19 year and returning for another season as a Longhorn.
The Texas tackle duo ranks among the best returners in the Big 12 Conference in pass-blocking efficiency. Banks and Jones hope to keep the Texas quarterback upright this season.
