Texas Football: Three position groups that could underwhelm in 2022

The Longhorns need these three groups to step up this season.

With the 2022 season getting closer and closer, many Texas fans are hoping that their beloved team will be much improved after a dreadful 5-7 record in 2021.

The Longhorns were able to add major talent from the transfer portal in players like Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers, Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, and tight end Jahleel Billingsley among others. Along with the star studded transfers, Texas also brought in the No. 5 ranked recruiting class in the country that could feature multiple starters as soon as they set foot on campus.

The new additions have many fans and outlets believing that this next season will be different for Texas. Something that we have been hearing since Colt McCoy departed.

Even with all of the positive additions and subtractions of certain players that didn’t seem to be bought into the new regime, there are still specific position groups poised for an underwhelming and maybe even disappointing season in 2022.
