Ingram is the incumbent starter, he carried the ball a total of 144 times for a clip of 5.9 yards per carry. He would be the leading runner on the team with 853 yards in 2019. Ingram made quite the jump in production from his freshman season.

He will be asked to make another jump as the Texas Longhorns look to overtake the Oklahoma Sooners in the upcoming season. New offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is coming over from Ohio State where he was the passing game coordinator, that offense ran the ball very effectively.

After posting just one 100-yard game on the ground in 2018, Ingram posted four such games in 2019. Including the bowl game in which he ran the ball for 8.3. yards per carry. He accounted for 10 touchdowns and almost 1,100 yards of total offense.
