Texas Football Recruiting: Where does the 2021 offensive class sit now?

Three months away from early signing day, blue-chip players are still available. Here is an update on the offensive 2021 recruiting class:

Running back

Commits: Jonathan Brooks

Remaining targets: L.J. Johnson, Camar Wheaton

Analysis: Texas struck gold in the last recruiting cycle, landing Bijan Robinson, the No. 1 running back in the country. In the 2021 class, the Longhorns are trying to increase the quality and depth of their running back room.

Jonathan Brooks has been committed to Texas since May 15. The three-star is from Hallettsville, Texas, and was the District 14-3A D-I MVP as a junior.  Brooks ran for 1,300 yards in 2019 while adding 24 touchdowns.

However, the best is yet to come. Texas is considered favorites for both Camar Wheaton and L.J. Johnson. The No. 2 and No. 5 running backs in the country respectively, Texas is battling Oklahoma for Wheaton and Texas A&M for Johnson.

As it stands, Wheaton is leaning towards the Sooners, attending their recruiting weekend. Texas should be all in on Johnson, creating the deepest running back room in the Big 12.
