In the ACC three schools made the list with Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech. In five games the Longhorns have outscored these opponents 155-89. The largest margin of victory came against the Demon Deacons in 1974 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium when the Longhorns won 41-0.
Georgia Tech (1-0)
- 1943 Cotton Bowl: 14-7
In 1943 the Dana X. Bible led Longhorns played in their first bowl game in school history when they met the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. This game took place at the Cotton Bowl on the Dallas fairgrounds. The Longhorns held a 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter and it took a defensive stand to deny Tech an opportunity to tie the game. It was the Yellow Jacket’s first loss of the season. The Longhorns finished 8-2 and ranked 11th in the AP polls. The Longhorns returned to the Cotton Bowl in 1944.
