Texas Christian vs Texas: Five Reasons the Longhorns Win

Texas looks to win their third-straight game to open the season. Five reasons why the Longhorns stay perfect on Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns and Texas Christian Horned Frogs are all set for the early kickoff at 11 a.m. CDT. For TCU, they are looking for their first win of the year. After postponing their lone nonconference game against SMU, The Frogs fell to Iowa State 37-34 in Fort Worth. This will be their first road trip on the young season as they travel down to Austin. It is still unclear who will take the snaps for TCU.

Matthew Downing didn’t look great in his first start after leading only one scoring drive. Max Duggan seemed to move the offense at will once he got into the game. Will they have more of the former or latter when they take the field against the Texas Longhorns defense? Texas fans are hoping for an improved defense on Saturday.

For the Longhorns, this is their second game at home and third game of the year. After escaping Lubbock with a win, the team needs a better showing against TCU. The Longhorns have some issues they need to clean up against TCU before they get ready for Oklahoma in Dallas, Texas next Saturday at the Cotton Bowl.
