Texas Basketball: Previewing the Big 12 Tournament

With quite a few Big 12 teams on or around the bubble, every single game will be intense. Here is a preview of the 2020 Big 12 Tournament.

A Player to Watch For

Only suffering four losses on the season, Baylor has been one of the most consistent teams in the country the entire season. Many of that is thanks to the talent they have all around the court, having five players make All-Big 12 teams. However, the only Bear to make First Team All-Big 12 was Jared Butler.

Butler was third in the conference in scoring, averaging 16 points per game. The sophomore guard from Louisiana was putting up double figures night in and night out. After only being held to nine points by Texas on Feb 10, Butler had at least 15 points in his final seven games.

Showing up for Baylor during important games, Butler showed up in the biggest games of the season. Butler had 22 points against Villanova and on the road to Kansas, leading the way to huge victories for the Bears. He was a combined 7-15 from behind the arc in those games, shooting lights out. Not only could he score, but Butler was second on the team in assists.

Leading Baylor to their second-best winning percentage in school history, Butler will need to be the key man for the Bears if they want to win their first Big 12 Tournament in school history.
