The Big 12 Conference named Lucas Gordon as the league’s Co-Pitcher of the Week following his standout performance against TCU.
The Longhorns ace was excellent against the Frogs, tossing a career eight innings in the 8-4 victory. Gordon efficiently worked his way through a TCU lineup on a night where hitters had the advantage with the wind blowing out.
The win improved Gordon’s overall record to 5-0 on the year. He currently leads the Big 12 Conference with a 2.16 ERA and is third in strikeouts.
Holding this pace down the final stretch would put Gordon in a prime position to take home Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and a number of other prestigious awards.
2023 has been an up-and-down campaign for the Texas baseball program, but one thing David Pierce can count on is Gordon providing his team a chance to win every Friday night.
Geno keeps setting the tone.
