Broncos OLB Von Miller responds to fans criticizing his workout form

“Hey thanks for the advice but I think I got it,” Von Miller said after fans said he wasn’t working out properly.

Last week, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller shared a video on Twitter showing off one of his intense workout sessions. The video drew more than 1.6 million views.

If Miller was attempting to do traditional curls, his form wasn’t perfect. It seems that he wasn’t attempting to do traditional curls but that didn’t stop fans from chiming in and giving him advice on how to workout.

Miller took note of the replies and responded two days after he posted the video.

“Lol.. hey thanks for the advice but I think I got it,” Miller tweeted.

Miller is Denver’s all-time leader in sacks and one of the best defenders in franchise history. He helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 in 2015 and was named Super Bowl MVP following a 24-10 win over the Panthers.

In eight and a half seasons, Miller has totaled 106 regular-season sacks. He is under contract with Denver through the 2021 season.

Did you follow that?! @alvinkamara and @markingram21 making this insane 4 layer cognitive dynamic reaction drill look easy! 🤯 Definitely the most impressive drill of the off season IMO! Ok so let’s break it down… . 1️⃣ They land from the step off of the box, decelerate their body weight and immediately react to the first color cue: 🔴 = cut right 🔵 = cut left 🟢 = go straight over the hurdle . 2️⃣ A the second set of hurdles they will jump cut to either the left or the right based on which hand I bounce the ball with (I have one in each hand) . 3️⃣ Then the color of the ball off of the bounce will determine which hand they catch it with 🔴 = right hand 🔵 = left hand 🟢 = both hands . 4️⃣ Lastly, they will react to the color of the ball once they catch it 🔴 = cut right 🔵 = cut left 🟢 = continue straight . This drill is designed to simulate game play with the reactive cutting, multi directional movements and split second cognitive decisions. . Can you see how this could be beneficial? What are your thoughts? Let me know below! . @athletixrehab #getbackinthegame #stayinthegame @nfl @ravens @saints

A post shared by Dr Sharif Tabbah DPT, CSCS (@doctor_reef) on

They may not play on the same team anymore, but Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram are still as close as they’ve ever been. The two former teammates reunited for a workout at Athletix Rehab in Miami, where Kamara trains in the offseason under the supervision of Dr. Sharif Tabbah.

Tabbah’s creative exercises for Kamara have gone viral before, so it was probably only a matter of time before Ingram joined him to see what the fuss was about. Ingram had a solid first year with the Baltimore Ravens after eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints, running 202 times to gain 1,108 yards and score 10 touchdown carries. He also caught 26 passes for another 247 yards and five more scores. But it’s clear he’s still looking for ways to improve into his 30’s.

In this drill, Tabbah tasked Ingram and Kamara with either sprinting, hurdling, or cutting directions in response to a ball flashing alternate colors — and they had to start while jumping down from an exercise box and pivoting based on the different commands. It’s a lot to process even watching from home, much less trying out yourself.

Tabbah explained the goals of this particular exercise: “This drill is designed to simulate game play with the reactive cutting, multi directional movements and split second cognitive decisions.”

We’ll see if it pays off. Kamara has become one of the NFL’s best running backs while honing his athleticism under Tabbah’s guidance, and it’s great to see he and Ingram have maintained their close friendship. Maybe someday they can reunite in New Orleans so Ingram can pick up the last 90 yards remaining between him and the franchise rushing title.

Emmanuel Sanders helping mentor Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy

Saints wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has been working with Broncos rookie Jerry Jeudy.

Emmanuel Sanders no longer plays for the Broncos but he’s still helping Denver’s wide receiver room.

In a video posted on Jerry Jeudy’s Twitter page last week, Sanders is shown coaching up and running routes with the Broncos’ rookie receiver.

“I’m looking forward to seeing y’all boys, y’all should be dangerous,” Sanders says in part of the video. “In [Drew Lock’s] second year, if he do what he did last year, it’s gonna be special.”

Jeudy, Denver’s first-round pick in this year’s draft, will wear jersey No. 10, which was previously worn by Sanders when he played for the Broncos.

Sanders spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers before signing with Denver in 2012. He spent four and a half seasons with the Broncos and helped the team win Super Bowl 50 in 2015.

Sanders was traded to the 49ers last fall and helped San Francisco reach the Super Bowl. The 33-year-old WR signed with the Saints this offseason and will play against Jeudy in Denver on Nov. 12 (view the full schedule).

One-time Saints workout warrior Antonio Brown says he’s retiring again

Former Steelers, Raiders, and Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown announced his retirement months after a New Orleans Saints workout.

[jwplayer cgsDcENq-ThvAeFxT]

Don’t look now, but Antonio Brown has suggested he’s hanging up his cleats again. The seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday after issuing a similar notice back in Sept. 2019.

Brown spent the 2019 offseason with the then-Oakland Raiders after being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers, but ultimately suited up for just one game with the New England Patriots before he was released once a series of legal issues and sexual assault allegations came to light. He last retired over a disagreement in whether guaranteed money in his Raiders contract.

Brown hasn’t had a team since then, with NFL franchises waiting to see how  any potential suspensions would play out with the league as various court cases and investigations unfolded.

He last participated in a group workout with the New Orleans Saints just before the playoffs started, though every receiver at that tryout except for Brown and former Saints practice squad member Travin Dural since signed new contracts:

Brown went on to decry his appearance in New Orleans as a publicity stunt that benefited the Saints, and later produced an explicit music video targeting Saints coach Sean Payton. He’s citing an imbalance between the risk of suiting up for the 2020 season (maybe due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic) and the possible rewards of another NFL payday as his reasoning in stepping away from the game this time, but we’ll see if it sticks. Brown’s behavior has been unpredictable before.

Drew Lock and his offensive teammates weren’t the only Broncos players who got in some on-field work this offseason. Denver’s defensive players got in some on-field training as well.

Broncos inside linebacker Joe Jones posted a video on his Instagram page last week that highlighted some on-field drills and weight room workouts. Denver’s players did not have official on-field practices this spring because of COVID-19 but they did get together on their own time.

Jones signed a one-year deal with the Broncos earlier this offseason. He has been with Denver in 2017 and has emerged as one of the team’s best special teams players. Jones led the Broncos in special teams tackles in 2019 (8) and in 2018 (11). He’ll report to training camp next week.

Broncos post highlight video of players working out

Broncos players have put in a lot of work this offseason!

The Broncos were not able to have official on-field workouts this spring because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many players worked out on their own time, though, and they shared clips of their work on social media.

Denver made a highlight video from those player workouts:

That should get fans pretty excited for the 2020 season!

Broncos rookies are set to report for training camp in one week from today and veterans are scheduled to report in two weeks.

Watch: Alvin Kamara adds a new element to his offseason training

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has again gone viral for his offseason training, but his latest workout might set the standard.

[jwplayer jinwpX8k-ThvAeFxT]

New Orleans Saints superstar running back Alvin Kamara hit the ground at a sprint when he made his NFL debut, and that’s largely been due to the intense training he puts in during the offseason to hone his talents. It’s not for nothing that the 24-year old three-time Pro Bowler already ties for sixth-best in Saints history for career touchdown carries (27), using his unique ability to maintain his balance when tackled by opponents and rack up the points.

Kamara’s trainer is Dr. Sharif Tabbah of Miami-based Athletix Rehab and Recovery, a kinesiologist specializing in working with professional athletes. He’s teamed up with Kamara before, as well as his Saints teammates like Kiko Alonso and Ted Ginn Jr., and other players from around the NFL.

Tabbah’s last workout for Kamara went viral, in which he tasked the Saints running back with catching different-colored batons in midair while balancing on an unstable platform. This summer, though, Tabbah added a new variable by including tennis balls. See it for yourself:

Hopefully this intense training will pay off with a bounce-back year for Kamara. He struggled with a series of lower-leg injuries during the 2019 season, and his stats suffered for it. Maybe his reunion with Tabbah will get him back on the right track.

Broncos TE Noah Fant posts video showing workout with Drew Lock

Broncos tight end Noah Fant has been running routes for quarterback Drew Lock in Denver.

Denver Broncos second-year tight end Noah Fant shared a video on his Instagram page this week showing him running routes for quarterback Drew Lock and working out at a gym.

Fant had a simple cation for the post: “Just a sneak peek.”

Just a sneak peek.

A post shared by Noah Fant (@nrfant) on

Because of COVID-19, the Broncos did not have any on-field organized team activities or minicamp practice sessions this year. Lock helped teammates make up for the missed work by organizing unofficial practices in the Denver area this offseason.

It looks like Fant was able to attend a few of the passing sessions.

After being selected by the Broncos with the 20th overall pick in last year’s draft, Fant went on to lead rookie tight ends in catches (40), receiving yards (562) and yards per catch (14.0) last season. He’ll look to build on those numbers as Denver’s clear No. 1 tight end this season.

WATCH: Najee Harris shows off speed by racing drone

Alabama running back Najee Harris shows off his speed and offseason training by posting a video of himself racing against a drone.

Alabama running back Najee Harris has been quite active this offseason in preparation for the 2020 college football season. He has posted numerous videos to social media, and even announced a new Youtube series he’s created to show off his training and conditioning.

Training during this offseason has been difficult for athletes from various sports, at all levels, due to the Coronavirus pandemic closing down facilities all across the country.

Harris’ most recent video, posted to Twitter by Q6 Media, shows him racing a drone, and winning.

Another video shows him sprinting on a treadmill and working on his speed.

Harris has a big senior year ahead of him, he is highly regarded as one of the top running backs in the 2021 NFL draft class, and currently has the highest odds within the SEC to be the 2020 Heisman Trophy recipient.

He looks to build upon a 2019 season that saw 209 carries for 1,24 yards and 13 touchdowns. As well as 27 receptions for 304 yards and seven touchdowns.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on Najee Harris and the rest of the 2020 Alabama Crimson Tide team as the start of the 2020 season gets closer.

LOOK: Broncos players are practicing in Denver

Here are photos of Broncos quarterback Drew Lock practicing with teammates in the Denver area.

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock and several teammates held an unofficial practice in the Denver area on Tuesday. Lemar Griffin, a local photographer, posted a GIF on Twitter of Lock throwing a pass to running back Phillip Lindsay during the workout session.

Griffin also shared some photos of tight end Noah Fant catching passes from Lock.

On his Instagram page, @lemargriffinfilms, Griffin shared several more photos — including shots of defensive lineman Shelby Harris and outside linebacker Justin Hollins attending the voluntary practice.

NFL teams are not allowed to hold official practices with coaches at this time of year but players are allowed to workout on a voluntary basis. The NFL Players Association did advise against unofficial practices because of COVID-19 but that hasn’t stopped players from working out together.

Lock previously organized practices with teammates at a local park. Tuesday’s session appears to have taken place at a local high school.
