Wisconsin’s entire 2024 football schedule has been officially announced

The 2024 Wisconsin football schedule is here

The Big Ten Conference revealed the full 2024 football schedule on Thursday afternoon, as the conference welcomes USC, Oregon, UCLA, and Washington into the fold.

Wisconsin will see a pair of those new schools in 2024 as they travel to USC and host Oregon. Wisconsin will also see powerhouse Alabama at Camp Randall in their third and final non-conference game of the year.

Wisconsin will always be playing Iowa and Minnesota, even with the expanded conference structure. Rivalry games being kept was a key for conference leaders in the expansion.

The Big Ten will do away with divisions, but still have a Big Ten Championship set for December 7 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Here is a look at Wisconsin’s complete 2024 schedule:

WATCH: Luke Fickell delivers the message he has given since the spring

Luke Fickell stays true to his message

Coming off of a tough loss to No. 3 Ohio State where in fairness Wisconsin had their chances in the fourth quarter, head coach Luke Fickell reiterated one of his main talking points all season long.

It’s not about how the Badgers are playing at the moment or throughout the start of the year, but whether or not Wisconsin can be playing their best football at the end of the season.

This is something Fickell has stuck to all year long, through the ups and downs of the early part of the season. A Big Ten West crown is still very much a possibility if the Badgers take care of business over the next month. It’s about playing their best football in the weeks ahead:

Braelon Allen leads the Big Ten in this category

The Badger running back was at his best on Saturday

It felt like a defining statement game for Braelon Allen in Wisconsin’s come-from-behind win over Illinois on Saturday. The Badger running back totaled 29 carries and 145 yards on the ground to go along with a touchdown.

Allen is now up to over 100 rushing yards per game, which leads the Big Ten conference by a significant margin. Kyle Monangai of Rutgers is in second place at 93 yards per game, then there is a steep drop off before third and fourth.

Allen is now asked to do even more for the Badgers after Chez Mellusi went down at Purdue. The Badger back will have to be at his best on Saturday when Ohio State visits Madison.

Five takeaways from an unbelievable Wisconsin comeback win at Illinois

The Badgers escape with a win at Illinois

With fifteen game minutes left, Wisconsin was staring down a 21-7 deficit on the road at Illinois. They were trusting a freshman quarterback in his first collegiate start, had barely moved the football, and had been having trouble stopping the rushing attack of Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer.

So, naturally, with everything going the Fighting Illini’s way, Wisconsin outscored Illinois 18-0 over the final fifteen minutes and walked out of Champaign with a 25-21 victory.

From a wild final drive, some questionable calls early, and a few game-changing moments, here are five takeaways from a Wisconsin win that got them back into the Big Ten West title picture:

Luke Fickell provides an update on quarterback Tanner Mordecai’s injury

The Badger quarterback went down in the first half

Wisconsin fell short at home against Iowa in an ugly 15-6 loss that also saw quarterback Tanner Mordecai go down with a right-hand injury. Mordecai was hurt on a play late in the first half, and would not return to the game. He appeared on the sideline in the second half wearing street clothes and a sling on his right arm.

Three words you never want your starting quarterback to say? “I can’t throw.” As Mordecai was coming off the field, that’s what he was telling the sideline as he grabbed his right hand. Here is another look at Mordecai after the play:

In his postgame press conference, Luke Fickell provided an update on the Badger gunslinger.

“It doesn’t look good for a little while. He couldn’t grip the ball,” said Fickell when asked about the injury. We will see if there is a clearer update later in the week.

WATCH: Ricardo Hallman mic’d up on this week’s ‘(Wi)red’

The Badger cornerback was mic’d up in practice

Wisconsin continued their weekly mic’d up practice segment “(Wi)red with a timely selection to wear the microphone. The Badgers handed the mic to cornerback Ricardo Hallman, who made the play of the game last Saturday with a 95-yard pick-six interception return against Rutgers.

The interception gave Wisconsin a 17-0 lead heading into the break just as the Scarlet Knights had a chance to inch closer.

Hallman did not let us down on the microphone as this week’s fan choice for the segment. From his musical taste to live reactions to drills in practice here is a look at the Florida native’s mic’d up segment:

WATCH: The postgame message from Luke Fickell after the win over Rutgers

Luke Fickell addresses the team after a win

Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell addressed the team in the locker room after the 24-13 win over Rutgers, and the message was one of thanks for the teams intensity in approaching the bye week.

The Badgers struggled offensively in the early going, but the defense picked up the slack as Wisconsin shut down Rutgers and Ricardo Hallman took an interception return nearly the length of the field just before halftime to change the feel of the contest.

Fickell has preached doing anything the way you do everything and that was part of his message. The Badgers improved to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the Big Ten as they sit atop the west in the early going. Here is a look at Fickell’s speech:

BadgersWire Staff Predictions: Homecoming for Wisconsin against Rutgers

The Badgers return home to take on Rutgers

The Badgers return home to the friendly confines of Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Rutgers visits Madison for a Big Ten battle.

Wisconsin opened up their conference account with a win at Purdue, while the Scarlet Knights sit at 1-1 in Big Ten play after a season-opening win over Northwestern and a loss at Michigan.

The Scarlet Knights have been largely impressive in the early going this season, relying on a unique offensive structure and stout defense to build a 4-1 record through five games. Here is how our BadgersWire staff sees Saturday going for Wisconsin:

Luke Fickell announces his players of the game in the win over Purdue

The Badger head coach names his players of the game

As has been the new custom every week, Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell announced his players of the game on offense, defense, and special teams from the win over Purdue. The 38-17 win over the Boilermakers was headlined by a tremendous first quarter for Wisconsin quarterback Tanner Mordecai, who rushed for a pair of scores and even caught a pass all in the first fifteen minutes.

Fickell rightfully named Mordecai the offensive player of the game in the win. Defensive end James Thompson Jr. had a season-high six tackles and a sack in the win, and for that performance earned himself defensive player of the game.

On special teams, Chimere Dike and Nathanial Vakos, who hasn’t missed a kick all year long, earned player of the game honors:

WATCH: Braelon Allen scores a touchdown for Chez Mellusi

The Badger running back scores for his teammate

Wisconsin’s 38-17 win was marred by a leg injury to Chez Mellusi, who had already fought his way back from a season-ending injury to play some of the best football of his career early this season.

Wisconsin’s team crowded around Mellusi as he was carted off the field after the horrific play. A few minutes later, fellow Badger running back Braelon Allen found the end zone for the second time in the win. Allen’s heart was clearly with his teammate in that moment, as he immediately found a camera and made sure that he put the number one up.

Fox 47 Madison sports director Zach Hanley captured Allen sending love to his teammate. That score was for Mellusi:
