Former Wisconsin LB signs a deal with the Baltimore Ravens

Former Wisconsin LB signs a deal with the Baltimore Ravens:

After a minicamp tryout earlier this month, former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Vince Biegel has signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 246-pound linebacker has had an injury riddled NFL career thus far, but is finally healthy and ready to push for a roster spot.

The former fourth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers has also played for the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins.

In 43 NFL games, the Wisconsin native has registered 81 tackles, 13 QB hits, 2.5 sacks, and one interception.

During his time at Wisconsin, Biegel started 40 games and registered 191 tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss, and 21.5 sacks.

Jonathan Taylor has another 100-yard game on the ground in Colts’ win

The Badger legend has been on a tear this month

On Sunday Night Football, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor put together his third 100-yard rushing game in his last four outings as Indianapolis cruised to a 30-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

The Badger legend has been at his best in the month of October, totaling 408 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown all on 6.5 yards per carry.

Against San Francisco, Taylor finished with 18 carries for 107 yards on the ground and a touchdown. According to “Next Gen Stats” on Sunday Night Football, the former All-Big Ten performer was only expected to gain 54 yards on his 18 carries, but went well over that number:

Taylor’s Colts take on the Tennessee Titans this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

WATCH: LB T.J. Edwards makes a game-changing play in Eagles’ win over Carolina

The former Badger great makes a game-changing play for the Eagles

Former Wisconsin LB T.J. Edwards stole the show among Badgers in the NFL on Sunday afternoon. The Illinois native had an NFL first, and it turned out to be the deciding play in a 21-18 Eagles road win over Carolina.

Edwards, who played at Wisconsin from 2014-2018, blocked a Panthers punt with 3:53 remaining in the fourth quarter to set up Philadelphia inside the Carolina 30-yard line for what ended up being a game-winning drive. It was the Wisconsin alum’s first blocked punt in the NFL, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Eagles improved to 2-3 with a massive win to get their season back on track.

WATCH: Steelers LB T.J. Watt makes an incredible first-half play vs. Buffalo

The NFL’s highest-paid defensive player is making plays early:

Former Wisconsin Badger LB T.J. Watt is already living up to signing the richest contract for a defensive player in the NFL.

In one of the lone first half highlights for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their season opener against the Buffalo Bills, the 2020 First-Team All-Pro performer chased down Bills QB Josh Allen for a strip sack that was recovered by Pittsburgh.

The Steeler defense has now recorded a sack in an incredible 74 regular season games in a row.

Unfortunately for Watt, the Steelers were unable to capitalize with points and currently trail the Bills 10-0 at the half. He is, however, earning his massive paycheck early in the season:

Quintez Cephus doing ‘an excellent job’ early in Detroit Lions camp

The former Badger is showing out in Detroit

While rookie Badgers in the NFL begin their journeys around the league, former Wisconsin WR Quintez Cephus has continued to impress his new coaches in Detroit.

After being selected No. 166 overall in the fifth round, the former Badger has immediately taken it to his new teammate, the Lions first overall pick and former Ohio State star Jeff Okudah, in practice. The two went at in multiple Big Ten battles between Ohio State and Wisconsin, and Cephus has gotten the better of the Buckeye star early.

More praise for Cephus came today from Lions coach Matt Patricia in an article by Lions beat writer Nick Baumgardner in The Athletic.

“He’s really caught on to everything we’re doing,” Patricia told reporters on Sunday morning. “I think the guys on defense are studying him a little bit harder right now and trying to get a good grip on what exactly he is, so they can go out and compete.”

The former Wisconsin standout is not only doing an excellent job on the field, but also in his quick adaption of the playbook. “I think he’s doing an excellent job of learning the offense,” Patricia told reporters when asked about Cephus. “But really learning the individual technique, and he has a little bit of that football savvy, maybe if you want to call it, about him that is allowing him to handle the mental part of it.”

Wisconsin fans should not be surprised about last year’s top Badger target’s fast start at the next level. The only question should be why so many other teams let the Badger wideout fall to the fifth round.

Jonathan Taylor predicted to have the best rookie season among 2020 RB’s by PFF

The former Badger has high expectations in year one

The top Badger selected in the 2020 NFL Draft is already receiving preseason buzz from multiple news outlets. Pro Football Focus recently put out their list of which rookie running backs will have the most rushing yards this season based on their predictive model. Guess who was number one?

The two-time Doak Walker Award Winner is projected to rush for over 800 yards with his new NFL home in Indianapolis. The former Badger joins a Colts backfield where he will certainly have an immediate opportunity to make an impact. Do not be surprised if he goes way early in your fantasy draft this season, especially if you are playing with a group of Badger fans.
