5 Alabama football early signees who are being undervalued

These five signees are being undervalued by most

Wednesday’s early signing day brought a lot of drama for fans around the country, but for the most part, it was business as usual for [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Most of Alabama’s signees were already committed to the Tide before signing day, but the flips of running back Kevin Riley and athlete Aeryn Hampton were pleasant surprises for Alabama fans.

As the dust settles from Wednesday’s excitement, we now have a clear look at the freshman class for the Crimson Tide. While quarterback Julian Sayin and athlete Jaylen Mbakwe will steal most of the attention, there are a handful of signees who are being undervalued by most.

Here are a few that stand out:

7 Alabama commits to participate in Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Seven Alabama commits will participate in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Game on Dec. 16

The Alabama football program is annually represented at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. This year will be no different. Seven Alabama commits will suit up for Team Alabama in this year’s classic.

The seven Alabama commits that made the roster are Saraland wide receiver Ryan Williams, Clay-Chalkville cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, Brookwood offensive lineman William Sanders, Gadsden City safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Central-Phenix City defensive lineman Isaia Faga, Ramsay linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, and A.H. Parker defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.

Several other Alabama targets that will be a part of the game are Tuscaloosa County running back Kevin Riley, Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson, Meridian (MS) running back Daniel Hill, and Houston (MS) defensive lineman William Echoles.

Saraland’s Ryan Williams (1) scores a touchdown against Clay-Chalkville during the AHSAA Class 6A football state championship game at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday December 8, 2023.

This all-star game typically features some of the top talent in the south. Specifically, the Magnolia and Yellowhammer states. It always seems to be an interesting game between the two states. This year should be no exception.

I think it is safe to say that the Crimson Tide will be well-represented on both sides of the ball Saturday, Dec. 16th. The game will be played at Southern Mississippi’s M.M. Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET

4-star LSU OL target commits to Alabama

William Sanders ultimately chose the heavily favored in-state Crimson Tide.

In a decision that didn’t come as a major surprise, LSU lost out on the sweepstakes for 2024 four-star interior offensive lineman [autotag]William Sanders[/autotag] as the Alabama prospect committed to the in-state Crimson Tide on Friday.

Sanders, who chose Alabama over LSU and Mississippi State, is a native of Brookwood, Alabama. He’s a top-400 prospect nationally and ranks as the No. 21 player in the state of Alabama.

The Crimson Tide were the heavy favorite, receiving several Crystal Ball projections leading up to Sanders’ commitment. They were also the favorite according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, and those predictions ultimately held true.

LSU currently has just one interior offensive line commit in its 2024 class, three-star Marrero, Louisiana, prospect Khayree Lee. The Tigers have 18 commitments overall in a class that ranks No. 14 nationally.

Alabama lands commitment of 2024 IOL, Alabama native William Sanders

2024 interior offensive lineman William Sanders chose to commit to Alabama over others including LSU and Mississippi State.

Interior offensive lineman William Sanders of the 2024 class officially committed to Alabama. Sanders chose the Crimson Tide over LSU and Mississippi State.

Sanders has always had an interest in Alabama, considering that he grew up near Tuscaloosa. After receiving an offer from Alabama in June, Sanders returned for Alabama’s June cookout on June 23.

His commitment gives Alabama two offensive line commits in the 2024 recruiting class, with the other being three-star center Joseph Ionata.

As Sanders continues to mature and develop, his recruiting ranking will likely improve. As it stands, most recruiting sites have him listed as a three-star. Over the course of his senior season, we expect him to be elevated to a four-star.

Nonetheless, Alabama offensive line coach Eric Wolford has added another key offensive line target to the recruiting class. His commitment is a huge one for the Crimson Tide.

4-star Alabama defensive lineman William Sanders sets decision date

The Tigers will hope they can beat out Nick Saban for a prospect in his own backyard.

We’re coming down the home stretch in the recruiting process for four-star Brookwood, Alabama, defensive lineman [autotag]William Sanders[/autotag].

Sanders is down to three finalists — LSU, Alabama and Mississippi State — and he’s set to make his decision on July 21. Sanders ranks as the No. 21 player in Alabama and the No. 397 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Tigers likely have a lot of ground to make up here. The Crimson Tide are the heavy favorite for the in-state prospect, and they’ve received a pair of Crystal Ball projections from 247Sports while also sitting at 54% on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The Tigers will hope they can beat out Nick Saban for a prospect in his own backyard. LSU’s 2024 class currently sits at 18 commits and ranks No. 13 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite.

LSU offers 2024 4-star offensive lineman, Alabama lean

LSU’s recruiting staff has ventured into Nick Saban’s backyard in search of a talented offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class.

LSU’s recruiting staff has ventured into Nick Saban’s backyard in search of a talented offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class. They found a four-star lineman in Brookwood, Alabama.

[autotag]William Sanders[/autotag] is a 6-foot-3, 295-pound, four-star offensive lineman from Brookwood, Alabama, where he plays for Brookwood High School. The Brookwood Panthers finished the 2022 season 4-6 and failed to make the 6A state playoffs.

Sanders is currently crystal-balled to Alabama, and the Crimson Tide are a 54% favorite to land him per On3.

Film Analysis: Sanders plays at left guard for the Panthers and he is a wrecking ball. He is the guy that pulls on counter plays and he lays out any linebackers that get in his way.
