Wednesday betting odds for Florida at Vanderbilt, per BetMGM

Florida Gators football will face Vanderbilt this weekend, with the Orange and Blue still heavy favorites despite the odds remaining the same

[jwplayer taghaI5k]

The midweek doldrums have arrived as the Gator Nation awaits game time on Saturday to see their beloved boys in the Orange and Blue duke it out on the gridiron with the Vanderbilt Commodores.

As doldrums are wont to be, not much has changed since yesterday — both from a team status and a betting perspective — though that’s not necessarily a bad thing given how strongly favored Florida is.

BetMGM oddsmakers hold steady with the Gators as a 31.5-point favorite and the over/under also remains at 68.5 today.

The game will kick off at 12 p.m. EST in Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, Tenn. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, can be live-streamed on the ESPN app and can be heard on the Gators Radio Network.

Wednesday betting odds for Florida vs Arkansas, per BetMGM

Florida Gators football faces the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, with UF remaining a big favorite to win the SEC matchup in The Swamp.

Halfway through the week means halfway to game day, which is exactly where things stand today as the Florida Gators get ready to host the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday in The Swamp.

While three other Southeastern Conference games were postponed due to COVID-19 outbreaks, there does not appear to be any such threat to the Gator game — not that Florida is not familiar with the plight of their peers.

The flight pattern heading toward the weekend remains steady, as do the latest odds for the game. BetMGM oddsmakers still list the Gators as a 17.5-point favorite, while the over/under is also still set at 62.5.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. EST in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, can be live-streamed on the ESPN app and can be heard on the Gators Radio Network.

Lions will practice on Wednesday, confident in safety protocols in place in Allen Park

Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia confirmed at his morning press conference that the team will practice on Wednesday, and they are confident in the safety protocols in place in Allen Park despite Jarrad Davis being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday.

Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia confirmed at his morning press conference that the team will practice on Wednesday, and they are confident in the safety protocols in place in Allen Park despite Jarrad Davis being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday.

Patricia confirmed that Davis was indeed the first Lions’ player who needed to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list since the regular season began and walked reporters through the timeline on what happened after they were alerted to Davis’ situation.

“(We) go look at the contact tracing, we have an interview process that we go through,” Patricia said. “We kind of just completely make sure that we understand the situation that we’re talking about, whatever that is, and then we run everything through the League. And we have great conversations with them as far as what are the risk factors and what does that look like, and then from there we go forward with what we think’s best for the team.”

Mark Maske of the Washington Post reported that the Lions were one of several teams this morning that had “no new positive test results”, and while Patricia continues to keep players COVID-19 results in-house — following NFL/NFLPA guidelines — he did note that: “Nobody would not be able to practice because of (Jarrad Davis)” on Wednesday.

So this appears to be an isolated situation surrounding Davis and the Lions feel confident they’re are keeping their players safe with the current protocols they have in place — which are continually being updated based on new information from the league.

This weekend’s game with the Minnesota Vikings does not appear to be in jeopardy at this time.

Wednesday’s betting odds for Florida vs Missouri, per BetMGM

Check out BetMGM’s odds and spread for the Florida Gators’ return to college football action on Saturday, facing the Missouri Tigers.

[jwplayer 66HxiJ8R]

The Gators return to action on Saturday, squaring off against the Missouri Tigers in a weekend contest. The Southeastern Conference rivals don’t have a long history with one another, but the Tigers currently hold the edge against Florida in a fairly tight 5-4 series.

Vegas seems to be of the opinion that the Gators will come away victorious this week, which would be a nice change of pace from the recent two-week layoff. The oddsmakers expect a high-scoring game in the Swamp, so buckle up, because things should get interesting on Saturday.

According to BetMGM, Florida is a 13.5-point favorite according to BetMGM. The over/under is 61.5.

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and it will be televised on the SEC Network.

Chiefs make flurry of transactions on Wednesday

Several players returned to practice as a part of four transactions on Wednesday.

[jwplayer QSFIV8zB-ThvAeFxT]

The Kansas City Chiefs have made four different transactions on Wednesday according to the NFL’s official transaction report, three of which had players returning to practice for the Chiefs.

Former 2019 third-round draft pick Khalen Saunders was designated to return from injured reserve. The athletic defensive tackle suffered a dislocated elbow during the Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. He was subsequently placed on injured reserve and was expected to miss about a month with the injury. He seems to be right on track to make his return.

The Chiefs haven’t made a corresponding transaction and won’t need to quite yet. With FB Anthony Sherman on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team has a roster spot available for Saunders for when he’s officially activated.

Teams can return an unlimited number of players from injured reserve this year. Saunders simply marks the first player to make his return. Rookies Mike Danna and L’Jarius Sneed remain options to return from injured reserve later on in the season.

Next, OL Martinas Rankin did in fact make his return to practice on Wednesday. This week marked the first week that he could return to practice after beginning the season on the PUP list. This opens a multi-week window where the Chiefs need to decide if Rankin is healthy enough to return to action. He wasn’t listed on the first injury report of the week for the Chief. That is typically a good sign.

Jordan Ta’amu, who became the first player to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list in Kansas City after reportedly testing positive for the virus nearly three weeks ago, has been removed from the list. It appears he has beaten the virus and has been cleared to rejoin his teammates at practice.

Finally, as shorthanded as the Chiefs are at the offensive line position, the team chose to protect practice squad OG Danny Isidora. A new NFL practice squad rule allows teams to protect players from poaching each week. Teams can choose up to four new players to be protected beginning every Tuesday. Those players can then be elevated to the active roster on game day without the threat of poaching during the week or after the game.

Isidora has played mostly at guard during both his professional and collegiate career. It’ll be interesting to see who the Chiefs turn to at the tackle position in terms of depth, assuming Mitchell Schwartz is unable to go on Sunday.

Wednesday’s betting odds for Florida vs. LSU, per BetMGM

The Gators got some terrible news on Tuesday when 19 players were reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 and UF’s odds took a hit.

[jwplayer kyuJhM3C-er0jUifI]

An outbreak of COVID-19 on the Florida Gators’ (2-1) football team reported on Tuesday has put a damper on the game this Saturday against the LSU Tigers (1-2). According to a report by Payton Titus of The Independent Florida Alligator, 19 UF players have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Whether the game will be played is still up in the air, but that does not stop the oddsmakers from doing what they do best. Interestingly, after starting on Monday a 14-point favorite, Florida’s margin has been whittling away bit by bit leading up to today.

According to BetMGM, Florida is an 11.5-point favorite according to BetMGM. The over/under is 71.5.

The game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and it will be televised on ESPN.

Week 2 Injury Update: Jourdan Lewis returning for Cowboys, Matthews DNP for Falcons

The Dallas Cowboys injury report is looking good, really good, but that’s a bunch of fool’s gold. The team only has one name appearing on the report, but that’s because the injuries the team is working through are severe enough to have those players placed on the three-week minimum injured reserve list.

The only name still on there does have some good news attached though, as cornerback Jourdan Lewis was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, indicating the Cowboys should have their full compliment of defensive backs to take on Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Falcons have a bit of stress as left tackle Jake Matthews was not practicing with a knee issue.

Matthews has played in every game since joining the league, but did leave last week’s home loss to the Seattle Seahawks for a stretch. He finished the game, so it may just be precautionary that he doesn’t work until it makes the most difference, but a hobbled lineman facing Aldon Smith is not where Atlanta wants to be as both teams fight to avoid an 0-2 start.

The Cowboys placed LB Leighton Vander Esch, TE Blake Jarwin and OT Cam Erving on IR on Tuesday. Brandon Carr was promoted to the 53-man roster from the Dallas practice squad and the team signed LB Rashad Smith and OT Alex Light from the Bears and Cardinals.

Dak Prescott’s shoulder, Tyron Smith’s eye are issues for Cowboys ahead of Eagles match

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was highly efficient stat-wise in the team’s Week 15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Yes, he finished with his lowest passing-yardage total of the season, 212, but he threw for two scores, had his second-highest Adjusted Yards per Attempt average of the year (10.96 per throw) and second-best passer rating (123.8) of the season.

And he did it all with a bad shoulder from almost the outset of the game, it seems. Prescott had an MRI on Tuesday that came back negative and is expected to suit up for the club’s de facto NFC East championship game on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. At practice on Wednesday, he participated, but did not throw.

“They did an MRI, and everything seems to be OK,” Garrett said via the Dallas News. “But he banged it up, and it’s hard for him to function right now. So we don’t anticipate him throwing much in practice today.”

In his place, backup Cooper Rush participated in the throwing drills with the Cowboys’ targets on Wednesday. Rush has primarily appeared in kneel-down duty across his three years with the team as a UDFA out of Central Michigan. He has only thrown three passes in his career, all in a single 2017 game and has just two passing yards on his resume.

The club fully expects Prescott to be able to suit up on Sunday, but it is certainly something to be monitored. The quarterback is enjoying his finest statistical season, throwing for over 4,300 yards in the team’s 14 games.

His blindside protector, Tyron Smith, is also ailing. Smith is having an issue with his left eye and his status for the game is unknown at the moment.

In addition, middle linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is already ruled out of a fifth-straight contest due to his neck injury as it appears more and more the second-year player may be done for the season.

Finally, special team’s ace CJ Goodwin underwent thumb surgery, but is expected to be ready to go by Sunday.

The Cowboys full practice report will be included when it becomes available.
