It is not surprising to see the Badgers remain at No. 15 since they struggled in the first half of their game against the Broncos. Around the Big Ten, Ohio State replaced Maryland in the latest poll with the Buckeyes moving up three spots to No. 23, while the Terrapins dropped to unranked.

Since the Badgers did not play, they moved up because of the fall of several other teams including Illinois. The Fighting Illini dropped six spots to No. 22 after getting upset 93-71 by the Missouri Tigers in their third-straight loss.

This stretch of wins against Big Ten opponents allowed the Badgers to show their worth and prove to the nation that they can compete against some of the top teams in the country. Elsewhere around the Big Ten, Purdue is ranked at No. 1, while Indiana and Maryland both fell to No. 16 and No. 17 after losses against ranked teams.

The Badgers received 18 votes this week as the seventh team outside the poll behind Texas Tech with 19. Wisconsin garnered 16 votes last week but was ranked as the fourth team outside the poll.

The Big Ten kept six teams in the latest poll with Iowa moving up to No. 24 from unranked, while Michigan State fell out after previously being ranked at No. 20. The Spartans’ fall resulted from two losses last week to Notre Dame and Northwestern.

Despite beating Dayton, USC and nearly Kansas in the Battle 4 Atlantis last week, the Wisconsin Badgers remain outside the latest USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

The Badgers, unfortunately, garnered only 15 votes this week, which is one less than they received last week. This is not completely bad news, as the Badgers have moved up to the fifth-team receiving votes outside the poll from sixth in the previous poll.

It is a bit surprising to see the Badgers not make the cut, but they will have plenty of opportunities to add to their resume in conference play since six Big Ten teams are currently ranked.

The Badgers received 16 votes this week, which lands them as the sixth-team receiving votes. This is three less than the last poll, which is likely a consequence of Wisconsin’s close game against the Phoenix.

The Big Ten added two new teams with Maryland and Iowa entering the poll at No. 25 and No. 24, while Michigan dropped out after losing to Arizona State last Friday. Michigan State also jumped up 10 spots to No. 15 after an exciting victory over Kentucky.

The Badgers received 19 votes in this week’s poll compared to only seven in the first, and they currently sit between Virginia Tech with 20 votes and Miami with 18.

Every Big Ten team moved up in the latest poll, including Michigan State and Purdue moving from unranked to No. 25 and 24. However, no Big Ten teams could crack the top 10 as Indiana was the Conference’s highest-ranked team at No. 13.
