Where Colorado’s 2023 opponents rank in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Eight of Colorado’s 2023 opponents are either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Unfortunately, Colorado did not receive a single vote in the 2023 preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. This was expected, though, as the new-look Buffs have been overlooked in essentially every other preseason ranking/poll in recent weeks.

Still, the Buffs’ schedule will provide head coach Deion Sanders plenty of opportunities to shock the college football world. Five of Colorado’s 2023 opponents were ranked in the coaches poll while another three received votes.

To give another reminder about the difficulty of CU’s schedule, the Buffs are one of only six teams with 11 Power Five opponents on their slate.

Take a look at how Colorado’s 2023 opponents fared in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll:

Oregon is on the verge of cracking the Top 10 of the coaches poll

Oregon is on the verge of cracking the Top 10 of the USA TODAY Coaches poll thanks to its big win over Arizona.

By the time the Oregon Ducks football team takes the field again, it could be a Top 10 team in the USA TODAY Coaches poll.

Just not yet.

The Ducks moved up one spot to No. 11 after their 49-22 win over Arizona. Oregon doesn’t play again until Oct. 22 and with a bye week. Although the most recent Top 10 didn’t see any changes this time around, who knows what next week will bring?

Their next opponent, UCLA, also has a bye week and with the Bruins’ 42-32 win over Utah, they moved up to No. 12 in the country. The Utes dropped eight spots all the way down to No. 19.

Washington dropped out of the poll completely and USC holds its spot at No. 6.

USC remains the top Pac-12 team in the poll. The Trojans stay the No. 6 team in the country.

UCLA makes it first appearance in the poll as the Bruins (5-0) are on a nine-game winning streak. The Bruins are preparing for a huge game next week with Utah in the Rose Bowl.

Despite their most recent and first loss of the season, the Washington Huskies stayed in the poll at No. 24.
