4-star OT names Florida in top 4, will return to the Swamp for another visit

Four-star offensive tackle Tyree Adams is planning his third unofficial visit to the Swamp.

On the day of his 17th birthday, July 1, four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag] narrowed things down to four SEC schools: Florida, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss. Billy Napier and Co. will get at least one more chance to meet with Adams on July 27-28 when he comes into town for another unofficial visit, according to 247Sports.

This will be Adams’ third visit to the Swamp since he first made it to Gainesville in early April. He also camped with Florida’s coaching staff on visit No. 2 in June and is looking to make his official visit to UF on Oct. 15 when the Gators face the LSU Tigers, but that isn’t penciled into the schedule just yet. His only planned official visit as of publishing time is an Oct. 7 to Alabama.

Adams doesn’t have a date set for his commitment, but a decision should come before the early signing period. That means those October visits could heavily influence his decision and it’s to Florida’s benefit to be scheduled after ‘Bama.

“They (Florida) are definitely competing with all the other schools I have right now, and I just look forward to continuing to build this relationship,” Adams said to Swamp247. “I am already starting to narrow it down, but I haven’t posted and I doubt I will. I just am going to take it day by day and take some visits and then I will think about committing by early Signing Day.”

After missing out on five-star offensive tackle [autotag]Francis Mauigoa[/autotag] to Miami, going heavy on Adams makes sense. He’s a four-star talent and sits just outside of the top 200 overall players in the class of 2023 on both the 247Sports composite (No. 209) and the On3 consensus (No. 212).

LSU is viewed as the leader from the outside, but that’s often based on the Tigers’ dominance in the region. Florida’s new staff has extensive ties to the state of Louisiana and could prioritize Adams in the coming weeks to get him out of Bayou State.

LSU makes the cut for four-star offensive line prospect

LSU makes the cut for one of Louisiana’s top players.

One of the top players in Louisiana released his top four on Friday, and LSU made the cut.

[autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag], an offensive tackle out of New Orleans, took to Twitter to announce that his recruitment would be coming down to LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia and Florida.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Adams is the 21st-ranked tackle in the class of 2023 and the 14th-ranked player in Louisiana. He attends St. Augustine in New Orleans, a high school that has produced a handful of LSU players including [autotag]Leonard Fournette[/autotag].

247 had yet to enter any Crystal Balls for Adams, but On3’s prediction machine has LSU in the lead.

Adams is a must-get for LSU. The state of Louisiana hasn’t produced a ton of blue-chip offensive tackles over the years, so when there is one available, it has to be able to close the deal.

The Tigers have been up and down with in-state recruits in the 2023 cycle. Landing Adams could help reassure that [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and staff know what they are doing with in-state recruits.

4-star OT names top schools list with only SEC teams

Tyree Adams considers his top four schools to be LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Florida.

Four-star offensive tackle recruit Tyree Adams is planning to play college football in the SEC. Adams is a member of the class of 2023 and plays high school football for St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Tyree Adams considers his top four schools to be LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Florida. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle has scholarship offers from Georgia, Michigan, Indiana, Penn State, Texas A&M and Florida among others.

Adams is ranked as the No. 209 prospect in the rising senior class. He is the No. 21 offensive tackle and the No. 14 recruit in Louisiana.

Adams played right tackle for much of his junior season at St. Augustine. The talented offensive tackle is very mobile and is a sturdy pass blocker that can get to the second level in the run game.

Adams’ recruiting stock has recently risen significantly. Georgia offered the four-star offensive tackle on April 16, 2022.

First-year head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers should have an advantage recruiting Adams. Kelly has an excellent history of developing offensive line talent and LSU is the school of choice for most of the top talent within the state.

Fresh off second trip to UF, 4-star OT talking official visit

Billy Napier seems to be making it a personal mission to get this 4-star OT out of Louisiana.

Four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag] visited the University of Florida for the first time on April 5. On Monday, June 6, he returned to participate in a one-day camp with the Gators’ coaching staff and may be planning another visit already.

Gators Online reported that Adams is looking at the Oct. 15 matchup between Florida and LSU, the hometown team in the hunt, for his official visit to UF. Beating the Tigers in Gainesville would be hard to ignore, and [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] wants this recruit. The Gators’ head coach talks regularly with Adams and is treating him as a priority recruit.

“Yesterday at the camp, I did really well,” Adams said Tuesday to Gators Online.  They show me consistent love each and every day. Coach Juluke, he texts me and asks how I’m doing often. With coach Sale, he texts me from time to time and just asks how I’m doing. Coach Napier texts me a lot too and showing me what Florida is all about.”

Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss are the other programs set to receive official visits from Adams. The Crimson Tide will get him on Oct. 7 and that’s the only scheduled visit as of now.

LSU is the favorite right now to win over Adams, but there’s plenty of time to pry the New Orleans native out of Louisiana. It helps that Napier spent the last three years around those parts and has the kind of style Adams likes.

“He is a great coach. He’s cool, calm and collected,” he said. “He is the type of coach who doesn’t have to yell at you to get your attention. I really like that.

“The discipline he wants from his players is top-tier. He’s a really great guy to be around.”

The On3 consensus ranks Adams No. 210 overall in the class of 2023 and No. 20 among offensive tackles. The service’s individual rankings shed a more favorable light on him, perhaps the same light Napier sees him in, at No. 118 overall and No. 14 at his position.

UGA football offers big New Orleans OT

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2023 offensive tackle prospect Tyree Adams

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2023 offensive tackle prospect Tyree Adams. The Dawgs, who have had much more success recruiting Louisiana under Kirby Smart, are among the latest schools to offer the three-star offensive lineman.

Adams plays football for St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle has offers from schools like Georgia, Michigan, Indiana, Penn State, Texas A&M, Florida, and many more.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers should have an edge recruiting Tyree Adams. Kelly has an excellent history of developing offensive line talent and LSU is the school of choice for most of the top talent within the state.

The three-star offensive tackle is rated as the No. 520 recruit in the class of 2023 and the No. 19 recruit in Louisiana.

Adams announced his scholarship offer from the Georgia Bulldogs via his Twitter account:

Congratulations to the young man from New Orleans. If he does not attend Georgia, then there is a good chance the Bulldogs will be playing against him in the SEC.

Report: 4-star OT high on Gators following midweek visit to the Swamp

Four-star OT Tyree Adams is up there on Florida’s recruiting wishlist, and a successful visit to the Swamp should help the Gators’ chances.

The Florida Gators hosted four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag] on Tuesday and the Lousiana recruit came away with a different view of UF after touring the facilities and meeting the staff, according to 247Sports.

“It really opened my eyes,” Adams said. “I really liked it. It makes me feel wanted. It made me feel like I could come in and start as a true freshman if I work hard and that I’d have an opportunity to do my thing.”

Florida offered Adams just a week ago on March 29 and it didn’t take long for the Gators to become one of the top teams on his list. LSU tends to do well with in-state recruits and is the early favorite to land Adams, but Billy Napier has plenty of Lousiana connections on his staff.

Running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag], the one who offered Adams his scholarship, actually coached a few of Adams’ high school coaches. Even the staff that didn’t know him all that well made Adams feel wanted. Offensive line coaches [autotag]Rob Sale[/autotag] and [autotag]Darnell Stapleton[/autotag] had high praise for him.

Texas A&M will host Adams over the weekend and then his schedule quiets down a bit. He holds offers from 22 schools and will need to cut that list down by the summer so he can make official visits in June and July. Adams is hopeful to be committed by August.

The 247Sports composite ranks Adams as a three-star recruit and the No. 523 overall prospect in the class of 2023, but the On3 Consensus holds a more favorable view of him at No. 340 overall and No. 23 at his position.

4-star Louisiana OT plans visit to Florida after picking up offer

Billy Napier has been recruiting four-star offensive tackle Tyree Adams since he was the head coach at Louisana.

Four-star offensive tackle [autotag]Tyree Adams[/autotag] has known Florida head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and running backs coach [autotag]Jabbar Juluke[/autotag] since they were coaching the Ragin’ Cajuns in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Napier offered the St. Augustine recruit a scholarship to play at ULL and he still wants him on his team after moving to the SEC. Adams picked up an offer from the Gators on Tuesday and has quickly planned a visit to the Swamp on Tuesday, April 5, according to Gators Online.

“When they left, they still continued to keep an eye on me. They wanted to evaluate me a little bit more to see if the SEC was right for me, and then eventually I put in the work. I did what I had to do and they pulled the trigger.”

In addition to Florida, Adams plans to stop by LSU and Texas A&M in the coming weeks. He holds offers from Florida State, Ole Miss and Mississippi State as well, so there’s plenty of competition for the No. 15 offensive tackle in the country, according to On3’s individual recruiting rankings.

LSU has a history of keeping Lousiana kids in the state, but Napier has been able to use his regionals ties to keep pace with the Tigers fairly often. [autotag]Trevor Etienne[/autotag] was the big name out of the state to sign with Florida last season and Florida was on the table for [autotag]Trevonte’ Citizen[/autotag].

Adams already has chemistry with the Florida coaches, and he says they’re sitting high on his list before he even gets to see the campus in person.
