The 2023 season will be Tennessee’s third under head coach Josh Heupel. Heupel has compiled an 18-8 (10-6 SEC) record with the Vols.

The Vols will kick off its 2023 season on Sept. 2 against Virginia at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

West is an elite four-star recruit who plays high school football for Tift County in Tifton, Georgia. He’s considered one of the top in-state recruits in his class.

West is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 111 player in the class of 2022. The Tift County star is the No. 20 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 12 overall player in the state of Georgia.

Tyre West committed to Tennessee over FSU and Georgia. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman is a huge addition for Tennessee.

The four-star defensive end has received scholarship offers from Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, and many more.

West is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 43 player in the class of 2022. The Tift County junior is the No. 4 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 overall player in the state of Georgia.

Tyre West will look to contribute in Dan Lanning, Kirby Smart, and Georgia’s defensive system. West is staying close to his family. He will be an ideal 3-4 defensive end in Kirby Smart’s defense. At six-foot-three, 280 pounds West has the size to battle with some of the SEC’s best in the interior trenches.

West’s recruiting has been closely tied to both the University of Georgia and the Auburn Tigers, but the Dawgs came out on top in this one. He announced his commitment to Georgia on Dec. 2, 2020.

Now, the Spartans have made an offer to the No. 2 Strong-Side Defensive End recruit in the 2022 recruiting class in Tyre West. West hails from Tifton, GA, where he plays for Tift County High School.

Tyre West stands at 6’3″ and weighs 260 pounds. According to 247Sports rankings, he is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in all of Georgia in the 2022 recruiting class. He is also ranked as the No. 7 recruit in the entire 2022 recruiting class.
