Louisville HC thinks Alabama tampered to land transfer WR Tyler Harrell

Strong accusations from the Louisville head coach regarding Tyler Harrell transferring to Alabama.

On April 22, Alabama landed one of their biggest commitments of this off-season in former Louisville wide receiver [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag]. The Crimson Tide landed Harrell after he had just entered the portal ten days prior on April 12, which raised the eyebrow of Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield.

Satterfield believes that tampering by Alabama occurred in order to land Harrell, however, he admits there is no real way to prove his theory. With Harrell committing ten days after entering the portal, it looks much less suspicious than had he committed the following day.

Satterfield does not believe this is the first time it has happened to one of his players, stating in an interview with 247Sports, “last year, we had a few guys that jumped into the portal and the next day they’re announcing where they’re going. You can look at that and know that something went on before they were in the portal.”

In college athletics, you are not allowed to communicate with a student-athlete enrolled at another NCAA school before they have entered the portal. But, as a student athlete it is not unreasonable to think that some may want some sort of certainty before entering the portal and entering the vast unknown.

It is difficult to see where the line can be drawn though, as Pittsburgh transfer receiver Jordan Addison was linked to USC with an NIL deal at the exact same time news broke that he was considering leaving Pittsburgh. The governing body of college athletics surely has their hands full as this is only the beginning.

Meet the 2022 incoming Alabama football transfers

Get to know Alabama football’s incoming transfers for the 2022 season!

Nick Saban is one of the greatest coaches in the game of football. At the collegiate level, he is known as one of the strongest recruiters, consistently landing top-tier high school talent from all across the nation. Now, with the NCAA transfer portal, Saban’s dominance is translating into recruiting active collegiate stars.

Numerous transfers have been welcomed in over the years and helped the team compete at the highest level possible.

The players that have joined the storied program have seen a boost in their playing abilities and draft stock. Most recently, wide receiver Jameson Williams transferred into Alabama after two years of minimal playing time at Ohio State. In one year with the Crimson Tide, he became national sensation and a top-15 pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

Heading into the 2022 season, Alabama has added five key players via the transfer portal that will likely have an immediate impact on the team.

Here’s who they are.

High-profile transfer portal WR Jordan Addison has been training with Bryce Young

Don’t count Alabama out for the star WR as he enters the NCAA transfer portal. He’s been training with the Crimson Tide’s Heisman-winning QB!

Nick Saban is known for winning on the recruiting trail, annually landing commitments from some of the top high school prospects from around the country. Ever since the NCAA transfer portal was opened up, he has been just as dominant on that front, as well. With five players joining the team in 2022 via the transfer portal, there’s a chance a sixth might be right around the corner.

Recently, Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison made headlines before he officially entered the transfer portal. Addison had been linked to rumors of a monster NIL deal that was allegedly offered to him in with hopes of having him join the USC Trojans.

Now that he is officially in the transfer portal, programs and coaches may begin reaching out to recruit the star wide receiver.

Alabama has already landed two transfer wide receivers in [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] from Georgia and [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag] from Louisville. Do they need a third?

Sure, why not?

It may seem like a reach to believe that Addison would be considering the loaded Crimson Tide as a potential landing spot. However, The Athletic now reports that Addison and Bryce Young have been training together out in California recently.

Currently, Addison claims there is still a decision to be made regarding where he wants to continue playing college football; but to say Alabama isn’t in the mix at this point would be wishful thinking.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover the Crimson Tide football program and Addison’s journey through the NCAA transfer portal.

Former Miami Hurricane WR with Alabama ties Dazalin Worsham enters transfer portal

The star receiver from Trussville, Alabama may look for a return to his home state.

Dazalin Worsham has entered the transfer portal after two years with the Miami Hurricanes program. Worsham is from Trussville, Alabama and was originally committed to Coach Saban and Alabama out of high school, and they will be certainly in the running again.

Worsham is a 6-0, 185-pound receiver who was formerly a three-star recruit. Due to a change at the head coaching position and a lack of playing time in Coral Gables, Worsham decided it was best to find a new home.

Through two collegiate seasons, Worsham saw action in just one game in 2020 and has yet to record any statistics. However, Worsham was turning heads during spring ball this year.

Transferring to Alabama would help provide a jumpstart to Worsham’s collegiate career, and for Alabama it would provide some depth in an inexperienced receiving room. Worsham would join [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] and [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag] as the third receiver to make the leap of faith.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Worsham’s journey through the NCAA transfer portal and how that impacts the Crimson Tide.

Predicting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

Projecting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

On Friday afternoon Nick Saban and the Alabama football team received a massive commitment via the transfer portal from former Louisville wide receiver Tyler Harrell.

Harrell will join a loaded but unproven wide receiver corp in Tuscaloosa and will most likely push for some significant playing time due to his elite ability to stretch a defense vertically.

It’s hard to say with absolute certainty who the starting receivers will be for the Tide this fall. Outside of Jermaine Burton, who coach Saban praised all throughout spring practice, there hasn’t been anyone that has taken the bull by the horns just yet.

With the addition of Harrell, I thought it was a good time to try and see if we can predict how things will shake up for Alabama at the wide receiver position.

First…X-WR position…

The nation isn’t ready for this 2022 Alabama team…

Alabama football has added a fifth transfer for the 2022 college football season. This time, Saban lands a commitment from a wide receiver, a position that needed a boost for the program.

Former Louisville wide receiver [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag], who is known for his electric speed, has announced he will be joining Alabama.

Earlier this offseason, the Crimson Tide earned a commitment from [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag], who played for Georgia last season, but decided to enter the transfer portal.

With reigning Heisman-winning quarterback Bryce Young at the helm of the offense, Bill O’Brien seemingly has unlimited weapons to utilize for the upcoming 2022 season.

Fans and media members were quick to share their opinions on twitter after Harrell announced his commitment. Sheer excitement from anybody associated with the program, and fear from those who have to play Alabama next season.

Alabama may have lost in the national championship game last year, but Saban is doing everything in his power to make it clear to the rest of the nation that the program will only be looking to return with a stronger roster.

Here’s what people on Twitter had to say.
