Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 4 vs. Vanderbilt Commodores

The latest injury report for Alabama Football heading into Week 4 matchup versus Vanderbilt.

Alabama has been fortunate to remain healthy for the most part. Through the first three games, only several of the Tide’s players have suffered injuries. Almost all of them have been minor. Coach Saban also mentioned in a press conference last week that the expectation is that two of Alabama’s key playmakers will return for the Arkansas game on Oct. 1.

In recent years, Alabama has been plagued with season-ending injuries. Last season, both Jameson Williams and John Metchie III suffered season-ending injuries. Now, the Crimson Tide are hoping to remain healthy as they are approaching a tough stretch of conference games. After Vanderbilt, the schedule gets tough for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama will travel to Fayetteville to face Arkansas on Oct. 1. Then, the Crimson Tide will return home to face Texas A&M on Oct. 8. The last opponent for the three-game stretch will be Tennessee on Oct. 15. It is crucial that Alabama can remain healthy because this is likely the toughest skid of the season for the Crimson Tide.

Roll Tide Wire will now take a look at Alabama’s injury report ahead of their Week 4 matchup versus Vanderbilt.

Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 3 vs. Louisiana Monroe Warhawks

The latest injury report for Alabama Football heading into Week 3 matchup versus Louisiana Monroe.

Fortunately for the Crimson Tide, there were no additional injuries to report after their Week 2 matchup against the Texas Longhorns. Both Jase McClellan and Demarcco Hellams suffered minor injuries but would return to finish out the game. Nonetheless, several players remain on the latest injury report.

On the other hand, Alabama hasn’t suffered any significant injuries outside of JoJo Earle and Tyler Harrell. Earle suffered a fractured foot during fall camp. Harrell is steadily working his way back from a sprained foot. In today’s injury report, we will provide the latest on the two speedy wide receivers.

The Crimson Tide will have opportunities over the next two weeks in Louisiana Monroe (Week 3) and Vanderbilt (Week 4) to test out the depth chart. Coach Saban and his staff should be able to figure some things out before facing an intriguing Arkansas team on October 1.

Today, Roll Tide Wire will take a look at the latest injury report for Alabama following Week 2.

5 takeaways from Alabama football’s Week 1 depth chart

Breaking down Alabama football’s depth chart for its Week 1 matchup with Utah State.

Alabama head football coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has never really been a big fan of the depth chart. Nevertheless, on Monday Alabama released its official depth chart for its Week 1 matchup with the Utah State Aggies. As you can imagine social media went into a frenzy as the all too elusive depth chart first surfaced on Twitter.

There is a lot to digest in regards to the depth chart and that is what we are going to be doing here today. Surprises along the offensive line and the starters at receivers are just a couple of the attention grabbers.

Let’s take a few moments to comb through the Week 1 depth chart and dissect some of the most interesting placements within the three deep.

INJURY REPORT: The latest ahead of Alabama’s Week 1 matchup against Utah State

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at Alabama’s injury report heading into week one’s matchup with the Utah State Aggies.

During fall practices, Alabama suffered a few injuries to key positions, such as wide receiver and cornerback.

Sophomore JoJo Earle suffered a fractured foot during fall practice. Along with Earle, incoming transfer Tyler Harrell has been recovering from a sprained foot, which Coach Saban mentioned during his press conference this past week.

Several other Alabama players were listed on the latest injury report that was posted by Tide Illustrated’s Tony Tsoukalas. The three that were mentioned in Tsoukalas’s tweet were Seth McLaughlin, Eli Ricks, and Khyree Jackson.

Eli Ricks has been dealing with a lingering back injury. However, Coach Saban said in his presser that he dressed out and warmed up during Alabama’s second scrimmage on July 20. On the other hand, Khyree Jackson has been nursing a groin injury, but Coach Saban did mention that he was available and participated in the second scrimmage.

Seth McLaughlin served primarily as the backup center until starting center Darrian Dalcourt suffered an injury late in the season. Although McLaughlin was expected by many to be the starting center in week one, that does not appear to be the case. Coach Saban mentioned that he did not participate in the latest scrimmage.

Projecting Alabama’s top wide receivers entering the 2022 season

Projecting the top wide receiver targets for Bryce Young entering the 2022 season.

Football is back, Tide fans! Alabama will kick the 2022 football season off in less than two weeks and the anticipation continues to mount.

As is the case in most seasons, questions regarding the starting lineup for week one are dominating message boards and Twitter threads. Well, with the season just around the corner, I thought I would start dropping my educated projections of who you might see take the first snaps at each position group.

Some groups are obvious such as quarterback and linebacker, but nevertheless, we will take a look at each group and give a little insight into who you might see take the field against Utah State on Sept. 3.

Today we are going to take a look at a group that has some question marks entering the season, the wide receivers.

Let’s roll!

Ranking Alabama’s newest transfers based on potential impact

Which of the 5 incoming transfers will have the greatest impact on the Crimson Tide in 2022?

Alabama football has been a historically strong program. Under Nick Saban, Crimson Tide football seems invincible. His ability to adapt to the latest and biggest changes is not something every coach can do.

Recently, the opening of the NCAA transfer portal made it easier for players to leave one program and join another immediately.

Even before losing to Georgia in the national title game, Alabama had made a big move in the transfer portal by landing former LSU cornerback Eli Ricks.

Now, heading into the 2022 season, four more transfers joined Ricks. Players from various positions on both sides of the ball are making the move from other Power Five programs and will likely see immediate playing time.

Which one will have the greatest impact?

CFB analyst breaks down why Alabama’s WR room is one of the best in the nation

See where Alabama’s WR group ranks when compared to the rest of college football. Do you agree?

Alabama football has produced great players at all positions, many go on to have successful professional careers in the NFL. The wide receivers have consistently been one of the main points of focus for the Crimson Tide offense in recent seasons.

Heading into the 2022 season, it originally appeared as if Alabama’s trend of having one of the strong receiving units was going to end. However, that’s not likely going to be the case.

Losing Jameson Williams, John Metchie III and Slade bolden to the 2022 NFL draft left only a few receivers with experience on the roster. This is where the transfer portal comes in handy.

Head coach Nick Saban managed to bring in two highly-talented receivers in the nation via the transfer portal: Georgia‘s [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] and Louisville’s [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag].

Chip Patterson of CBS Sports recently revealed his top-five wide receiving units from across the nation and Alabama makes an appearance at No. 4, behind only Ohio State, USC and Maryland.

“Like USC, Alabama has boosted its ranking through the transfer portal with instant impact additions,” writes Patterson. “The Crimson Tide saw multiple pass catchers leave the program after 2021 but the example of Jameson Williams has shown what can happen when you transfer in for even just one season with Bryce Young and the Alabama offense. Now not everyone is going to be an All-American and top-12 NFL Draft pick like Williams, but Jermaine Burton’s decision to transfer from [Georgia] and Tyler Harrell’s move from Louisville both come with similar expectations of being a valued contributor in the Tide’s passing attack this fall. Alabama does still have some competition for those newcomers even after an exodus to the draft and the portal, most notably sophomore Ja’Corey Brooks — a key to the passing attack when injuries mounted late in 2021 — and JoJo Earle, an All-SEC Freshman Team selection as a return specialist with game-breaking speed.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover the Crimson Tide throughout the remainder of the 2022 offseason.

Alabama considered to be a ‘winner’ of the transfer portal

Nick Saban and Alabama were named among the winners of the NCAA transfer portal.

We are in the midst of some of the greatest movements of change that we have ever seen in college football. NIL has mainly dominated the headlines this offseason, but the NCAA transfer portal is a close second.

Recently, Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY recapped the winners and losers of the 2022 transfer portal, and [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Alabama were listed among the winners.

Myerberg had this to say about Alabama’s handful of players they landed via the transfer portal.

“It’s not a huge group, but the Crimson Tide have made each signing count. Cornerback [autotag]Eli Ricks[/autotag] (LSU) is one of the top defensive backs in the country and a possible starter, should he recover from shoulder surgery and stay out of Saban’s doghouse…”
Running back [autotag]Jahmyr Gibbs[/autotag] (Georgia Tech) is a do everything skill talent with All-American potentional…
At worst, offensive tackle [autotag]Tyler Steen[/autotag] (Vanderbilt) will be a key backup at several spots up front…
Wide receiver [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] (Georgia) brings along proven SEC production with the benifit of taking production away from Alabama’s cross-division rival…
And fellow receiver [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag] (Lousiville) gives the Tide and quarterback Bryce Younga major home-run threat…”
It should come as no surprise to anyone that coach Saban and the staff in Tuscaloosa faired so well in the transfer portal. After all, the staff was calculated in each of their targets, focusing on individuals who could become instant impact players for the Tide in 2022.
Two other SEC schools were listed among the winners in Ole Miss and South Carolina. Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs were listed among the losers according to Myerberg.

Nick Saban fires back at transfer portal tampering allegations

Louisville Football HC hinted at tampering allegations regarding Alabama landing Tyler Harrell via the transfer portal. Nick Saban responds.

Last week, Louisville head football coach Scott Satterfield made claims that Nick Saban and Alabama tampered to land former Louisville wide receiver [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag].

Satterfield felt that despite Harrell being in the portal ten days before the Tide landed his commitment, they must have done something to urge him in the direction of Tuscaloosa. Regardless, there is essentially no way to prove it even if it had occurred.

Coach Saban didn’t like that comment and fired back today by saying, “We don’t tamper with anybody.” Saban is likely telling the truth as Alabama doesn’t have to meddle in other teams affairs to garnish interest. The Crimson Tide speaks for itself.

Despite all of the comments, Harrell is Alabama bound and looks to make an immediate impact.
