Former Alabama DB announces transfer destination

Former Alabama defensive back Trey Amos announced his transfer destination… and it’s in the SEC.

Former Alabama defensive back Trey Amos joined the program before the 2023 college football season after transferring in from Louisiana Lafayette. Well, he is now onto his third program after committing to play for Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Amos only started one game for the Crimson Tide, but he appeared in all 14 games last season. While at Alabama, Amos recorded 12 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and five passes defended.

His production wasn’t what many expected in Tuscaloosa, so maybe things will be different under Pete Golding in Oxford, Mississippi.

He is one of many players to have hit the portal after the season ended and head coach Nick Saban retired.

Another player with Louisiana ties enters the transfer portal

Senior Trey Amos from New Iberia, Louisiana, has entered the transfer portal.

It appears as though LSU will miss out on [autotag]Dezz Ricks[/autotag] in the transfer portal, but another Alabama cornerback with Louisiana ties has recently entered the portal, and he has a lot more experience.

Senior [autotag]Trey Amos[/autotag] from New Iberia, Louisiana, has entered the transfer portal following Nick Saban’s retirement. Amos spent his first three years in college playing for Louisiana-Lafayette before transferring to Tuscaloosa. He appeared in all 14 games this season for the Crimson Tide and totaled 12 tackles and five pass break-ups.

Amos was in line to start at cornerback next season for the Tide but he will now explore his options in the transfer portal. Cornerback is a position where LSU could use some more help so it would make sense for Brian Kelly to at least reach out and gauge Amos’ interest in coming to Baton Rouge. If he were to transfer to LSU, he would be immediately eligible and have one year of eligibility remaining.

Alabama CB Trey Amos enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Alabama cornerback Trey Amos entered his name into the transfer portal. Amos, a Louisiana native, spent one season at Alabama.

The dominoes continue to fall in Tuscaloosa. On Monday night, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that Alabama cornerback Trey Amos is planning to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Amos, a Louisiana native, spent one season at Alabama after transferring in from Louisiana-Lafayette. He played in 14 games this past season for the Crimson Tide recording 12 tackles and five pass deflections.

Amos was projected to be a starter at cornerback during the 2024 season for the Crimson Tide. As the 2023 season progressed, his role increased in Alabama’s secondary.

The likeliest destinations for Amos at this time seem to be either LSU or Georgia. The Tigers recruited Amos before he transferred to Alabama. As for the Bulldogs, they just hired away Alabama defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson. It makes sense that both schools would be interested in Amos.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest news regarding the Alabama football program and its players that have entered the NCAA transfer portal.

5 players who will play larger roles in Alabama’s Week 11 matchup against Kentucky

Take a look at five Alabama players who will play larger roles against Kentucky in Week 11

Alabama has had a handful of injuries this season. Therefore, several players have had to step up this season.

In Week 10, two Alabama starters — Deontae Lawson and Jaylen Key suffered injuries. Lawson suffered an ankle injury and Key suffered a quad injury. Both will be sidelined against Kentucky in Week 11.

With that said, multiple players will be expected to fill in for them. Also, several players are seeing increased roles that will likely see that trend continue as the season progresses.

Roll Tide Wire lists five players that will play larger roles in Alabama’s Week 10 matchup against Kentucky.

Here are five players who should see their roles increased following Alabama’s bye week

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team have reached their bye week following their incredible come-from-behind victory over the Tennessee Volunteers, 34-20.

With Alabama having the week off, it is time to reflect on what has happened so far this season and also what we can expect for the Tide down the stretch.

So far there have been a lot of players step up for Alabama and make plays that have helped the team achieve their 7-1 record. But there is always room for more players to increase their role and make an impact as Alabama races to the finish line.

Here are five players that should see their roles increased following Alabama’s bye week.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Nick Saban and his team take the field.

The No. 23 has not been an all too popular number as of late. [autotag]Roydell Williams [/autotag] wore the jersey during his first two seasons in  Tuscaloosa but has since switched to No. 5. With that being said we will take a closer look at Williams’s career while he wore No. 23.

Trio of newcomers named Student-Athletes of the Week

Haynes, Ricks, and Amos earn this week’s Student-Athletes of the Week!

We are currently right in the middle of the college football offseason, but with the SEC media days around the corner and recruiting news virtually around the clock, the content surrounding the Alabama Crimson Tide never ends.

On Thursday, Alabama released this week’s recipients of the Student-Athletes of the Week. A trio of newcomers received the honor this week as freshman running back Justice Haynes, freshman defensive back Dezz Ricks, and Louisiana transfer Trey Amos were recognized.

Haynes burst onto the scene this spring and is almost certain to be an instant impact player for the Tide this fall. Ricks and Amos both will be battling for a role in the defensive backfield with Amos having a slightly better shot at playing time due to his previous college experience.

Congratulations to these young men for their outstanding work in the classroom and on the gridiron.

Remainder of Alabama’s No. 1 recruiting class set to arrive on campus this weekend

Remainder of Alabama’s No. 1 recruiting class set to arrive on campus this weekend!

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide hauled in the top-ranked recruiting class in the 2023 cycle and it was also one of the most impressive classes of the Saban era.

Most of the historic class arrived in Tuscaloosa prior to the spring semester and was able to compete in spring practice and the annual A-Day game. However, there are a few guys that chose to delay their enrollment at Alabama and are now set to arrive over the next few days.

Also joining the team this weekend is the handful of recent transfer portal additions. Below is the list of players that are set to join the Tide soon!
