Chiefs vs. Raiders: RB Kareem Hunt follows OL Trey Smith for touchdown

Check out this video of #Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt scoring a touchdown against the #Raiders in Week 8.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt wasted no time making his presence felt against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, scoring a touchdown on the defending Super Bowl champions’ first offensive drive.

Since his arrival in Kansas City, Hunt has been one of the Chiefs’ most dynamic weapons, seemingly scoring at will. The opening minutes of Sunday’s matchup against the Raiders were no different.

After Las Vegas won the coin toss to start the game and elected to defer, Kansas City drove down the field with ease.

Newly-acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins recorded his first catch as a Chief, but the best highlight of Kansas City’s first drive was Hunt’s impressive touchdown run behind offensive lineman Trey Smith.

Take a look at this video of Hunt’s latest score, which was posted by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:

Expect Hunt to continue leading Kansas City’s running game as the Chiefs look to earn their seventh win of the regular season against Las Vegas.

Commanders rookie tight end confirms he’s a ‘Swiftie’

Ben Sinnott scored on the “Taylor Swift” play and confirms he’s a Swiftie.

It’s been quite the week for Washington Commanders rookie tight end Ben Sinnott. In Sunday’s 40-7 win over the Carolina Panthers, Sinnott caught his first NFL pass — a touchdown.

On Thursday, offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury met with the media and revealed Sinnott’s touchdown came on a play called “Taylor Swift.” Yes, you read that correctly.

“His first catch was a touchdown, and the play was called Taylor Swift,” Kingsbury said. “So, you can’t really beat that to start your NFL scoring career.”

Kingsbury also noted that the Commanders had some other plays named after pop stars, too.

Unfortunately for Sinnott, he also met with the media Thursday as the Commanders had an open locker room. As expected, “Taylor Swift” was a popular topic for the Kansas State rookie.

“I think the tight end is just a bunch of guys who like Taylor Swift, man,” Sinnott said with a smile. “So, it kind of just like a group consensus. It’s one I will never forget.”

Sinnott was then asked if he was one of those tight ends who is a Swift fan.

“Oh, for sure, yeah, my fiance is a huge Taylor Swift fan,” he said before being forced to name songs from the famous pop star.

Washington’s other tight ends denied being “Swifties.”

Sinnott said that when the play was called, he knew it was coming to him, as the Commanders had had the play ready for weeks and had been waiting to use it.

Sinnott and the Commanders are back home against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Chiefs vs. 49ers: WR Mecole Hardman zooms past defenders for touchdown

Check out this video of #Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman’s impressive touchdown against the #49ers in Week 7.

The Kansas City Chiefs are well on their way to earning their sixth win of the 2024 regular season against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.

Both the Chiefs and 49ers’ offenses struggled for the majority of Sunday’s game, but Kansas City got creative to find ways to score and extend their lead.

After a powerful touchdown run by quarterback Patrick Mahomes that gave the Chiefs a two-score lead, head coach Andy Reid decided to utilize his receiving corps to tighten Kansas City’s grip on San Francisco.

With just over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter, wide receiver Mecole Hardman found the endzone on a jet sweep from the Chiefs’ 18-yard line.

Watch Hardman’s impressive touchdown in this video that was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

If Kansas City can hold on to win this game, the Chiefs will be the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

Chiefs vs. 49ers: Kareem Hunt scores second touchdown at Levi’s Stadium

Check out this video of #Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt’s second touchdown against the San Francisco #49ers in Week 7.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt continued his recent run of dominance against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, scoring two touchdowns in the first half of Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII rematch.

Kansas City signed Hunt when star rusher Isiah Pacheco was injured early in the regular season, and the former Toledo Rocket has proven to be every bit the stud he was when he played for the Chiefs earlier in his career.

After scoring a touchdown in the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup against San Francisco, Hunt wasted no time getting back into the end zone when Kansas City’s offense got back near the 49ers goal line.

Take a look at this video of Hunt’s second score, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Stay tuned to see if Hunt can score a third touchdown to help Kansas City keep its undefeated record intact heading into Week 8.

Chiefs vs. 49ers: Kareem Hunt scores nifty touchdown

Check out this video of #Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt’s rushing touchdown that gave Kansas City a lead against the San Francisco #49ers in Week 7.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a heated defensive battle against the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl LVIII rematch.

After a few early turnovers to start Sunday’s game, the Chiefs were finally able to march down the field and break the scoreless seal.

With the help of a few defensive penalties against San Francisco, Kansas City found the endzone with ease thanks to a one-yard run by running back Kareem Hunt.

Take a look at this video of Hunt’s outstanding touchdown that gave the Chiefs a second-quarter lead, courtesy of the team’s official Twitter account:

The Chiefs have struggled to convert in the red zone all season, but with the return of Hunt, it seems Kansas City may have found their red zone formula.

Look for the veteran back to continue getting the ball as the Chiefs look to remain undefeated in the 2024 season.

WATCH: Spencer Rattler makes Saints history with his first NFL touchdown pass

Spencer Rattler threw his first NFL touchdown pass to another rookie, and it came when the team needed it most. It also made Saints history:

Take a bow, Spencer Rattler. The young quarterback threw his first NFL touchdown pass to another rookie, and it came when the team needed it most. Rattler swung a fastball to wide receiver Bub Means in the back of the end zone, giving the New Orleans Saints a lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Context makes the play even more impressive. The Saints fell into a 17-0 deficit early on after the Bucs scored a couple of touchdowns on their own, one of them off a fumble recovery, but New Orleans fought back. The defense took the ball away, Rashid Shaheed scored a long punt return touchdown, and when Rattler got in he took care of business, putting them on top 20-17.

It was the first time in Saints franchise history that a rookie quarterback’s first touchdown pass was thrown to another first-year pro in his first start. And it’s a good start to Rattler’s NFL story. Let’s see if he can keep it going.

Alvin Kamara has already surpassed his 2023 TDs total

Alvin Kamara has already surpassed his 2023 touchdowns total. The New Orleans Saints running back retook the lead against the Bucs:

It only took Alvin Kamara six games to surpass his touchdown total from 2023. The New Orleans Saints running back followed his blockers and took advantage of a big gap created by right tackle Trevor Penning to twist and slip into the end zone, retaking the lead against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The difference between last year and this year is night and day for Alvin Kamara. Not only has his usage significantly higher, his touchdown rate is back up. There was once a time where Kamara was a touchdown machine.

That time was years ago, but it looks like it’s coming back. Kamara hasn’t scored a combined 10 touchdowns since 2020. That season he led the league with 21 total touchdowns. He hasn’t quite reached double digits, but he is well on the way if he keeps this up.

Kamara has now scored seven touchdowns this season. That’s more than he scored all season last year, and he’s done it on fewer touches. This rushing  touchdown against the Buccaneers was the 60th such score of his career.

Watch: Jayden Daniels finds Terry McLaurin for Commanders’ TD vs. Ravens

Watch Jayden Daniels find Terry McLaurin for Washington’s first touchdown.

Sunday’s meeting between the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens featured two of the NFL’s top five offenses. However, things started slowly in the first quarter, with each team only scoring one field goal.

The Ravens then went to work, as Lamar Jackson led his team on a nine-play, 93-yard drive for the game’s first touchdown to make it 10-3 Baltimore.

How would Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels respond? Daniels would lead the Commanders on an 8-play, 70-yard drive that ended with a seven-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

On the drive, Daniels completed seven of his eight passing attempts to tie the game.

Here’s the touchdown.

That’s McLaurin’s third touchdown of the season, all of which have come in three of the last four games.

Daniels has completed 12 of 16 passes for 104 yards with a touchdown in the first half.

WATCH: Rashid Shaheed returns a punt 54 yards for a badly-needed TD

Rashid Shaheed returned a punt 54 yards for a badly-needed touchdown against the Buccaneers. It’s just what the Saints needed:

Leave it to Rashid Shaheed to bring the Caesars Superdome to its feet. A big stop by the New Orleans Saints defense and a foolish Tampa Bay Buccaneers penalty set him up in favorable field position to return a punt in the second  quarter, and he delivered.

Shaheed caught the ball just inside Saints territory and split the gunners to cut upfield, where a nice block by linebacker D’Marco Jackson sprung him free down the sideline. Shaheed had so much room to run he danced his way into the end zone. Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi was waiting to celebrate with him.

This was Shaheed’s second career punt return touchdown, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. His score and Blake Grupe’s following kick cut the Bucs’ lead down to 17-10. With Chris Olave out in concussion protocol, Shaheed is going to be needed not just on offense but in the game’s third phase.

WATCH: Former Wisconsin WR scores electrifying game-tying touchdown in Florida’s OT loss to Tennessee

Big moment for Chimere Dike against Tennessee on Saturday:

Former Wisconsin wide receiver Chimere Dike was the center of the college football world for a few minutes on Saturday night.

The longtime Badger caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Florida backup quarterback D.J. Lagway to tie the Gators’ game against No. 8 Tennessee at 17 with 30 seconds remaining in regulation.

Tennessee would go on to win 23-17 in overtime on a one-yard touchdown run from RB Dylan Sampson. But Dike’s game-extending touchdown grab brought a potential season-defining upset into the picture. It was almost the highlight moment of what was an all-time day in the sport.

Here is the play, as Dike silenced an anxious Tennessee home crowd:

Lagway was in the game for Florida after starter and former Wisconsin QB Graham Mertz went down with an injury. The freshman had an up-and-down showing, completing nine of 17 passes for 98 yards, that touchdown and one crucial interception.

Dike finished the contest with four receptions for 76 yards and the touchdown. His season-long totals are up to 19 catches, 353 yards and two touchdowns.

Florida drops to 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in SEC play with the loss, while Tennessee improves to 5-1 (2-1 SEC).

The story surrounding the Gators will now turn to the health of Mertz and the long-term status of head coach Billy Napier. Things don’t get any easier for the Gators, with upcoming games against No. 5 Georgia, No. 1 Texas, No. 13 LSU and No. 9 Ole Miss.

Mertz’s injury and questions about the head coach paint a less-than-optimistic rest-of-season outlook.
