Chiefs TE Noah Gray isn’t celebrating career game after Week 11 loss: ‘Doesn’t really matter’

Kansas City #Chiefs tight end Noah Gray isn’t celebrating career game after Week 11 loss: ‘Doesn’t really matter’ | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray was a prime target for Patrick Mahomes in Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills. In his postgame press conference, Gray explained to reporters that his accolades were second to the team’s success.

“I mean, it doesn’t really matter because the only thing I think that does matter is the win, but that was a great Buffalo team out there. Played us extremely hard.” said Gray. “All the guys on our side played extremely hard and grind it out from the O-Line receivers to Pat (Patrick Mahomes). Yeah, and, unfortunately, we lost, but you know, that was a really good Buffalo team, and unfortunate that we lost, but we’re looking forward to next week.”

In the first half, on a third-and-two, Patrick Mahomes found Gray for a two-yard touchdown reception to give the Chiefs the lead, 14-13. Gray caught a one-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to pull the Chiefs within two of the Bills, 23-21.

The scores marked Gray’s first touchdowns this season, registering his first-career multi-touchdown performance. His two touchdown receptions on the season match his single-season career high from the 2023 season. He ended the night by tying a single-game career-high with four receptions for 23 yards and two touchdowns.

Chiefs vs. Bills: Noah Gray scores toe-tap touchdown vs. Buffalo

Kansas City #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes found TE Noah Gray for a second touchdown against the Buffalo #Bills in Week 11.

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to keep their undefeated season alive as they try to earn a come-from-behind against the Buffalo Bills.

The Chiefs have not played their best game of football against the Bills in arguably the most important game of the season, but with just under eight minutes to go, the reigning Super Bowl champs only trail by two points.

After lackluster gameplay by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as well as the defense’s inability to keep Buffalo’s offense off the field, Kansas City was able to drive down the field near the end of the fourth quarter to find tight end Noah Gray in the back of the endzone.

Take a look at Gray’s back-corner touchdown catch, which was posted by the Chief’s official account on Twitter:

If Kansas City wants to keep its perfect season intact, Mahomes will need to continue spreading the ball around to various receivers.

Keep an eye out for the veteran tight end in the final few minutes of Sunday’s game.

Chiefs vs. Bills: Patrick Mahomes finds Noah Gray for second-quarter touchdown

Kansas City #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes hit TE Noah Gray with a pretty touchdown pass against the Buffalo #Bills in Week 11.

The Kansas City Chiefs have relied on their air attack to score points against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11 and have an early lead on their bitter AFC rivals.

Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes connected with rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy four times in the first half but looked to veteran tight end Noah Gray in the second quarter to score the Chiefs’ second touchdown.

Gray has been a revelation for Kansas City’s offense this season and is blossoming into one of Mahomes’ favorite targets.

Check out this video of Gray’s latest touchdown reception, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Though Gray isn’t a household name like his running mate Travis Kelce, his contributions have been crucial to Kansas City’s success this season.

Stay tuned to see if Mahomes will continue looking Gray’s way through the rest of the Chiefs’ Week 11 matchup against the Bills.

WATCH: Juwan Johnson snags touchdown near the edge of the endzone

WATCH: Juwan Johnson snags the Saints’ fourth touchdown of the day at the edge of the endzone

The New Orleans Saints were in a back-and-forth battle with the Cleveland Browns for most of their matchup, however, they began to pull away with a touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Juwan Johnson that put them ahead 28-14. Johnson was able to get just open enough near the right edge of the endzone, and Carr placed it where he could catch it and still get his feet down in bounds before he fell out.

This was Johnson’s second touchdown of the year in somewhat of a down season so far, but hopefully with another touchdown to his name and some production to get the Saints further ahead in this game, he can come around and make some more plays down the stretch.

Taysom Hill climbs higher among Saints’ all-time leading scorers

Taysom Hill added to his legacy in Sunday’s contest against the Browns, breaking his tie with Pierre Thomas in the Saints’ all-time record books:

Taysom Hill is rungs higher on the list of all-time leading scorers with his 10-yard rushing touchdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Hill has now broken his tie with Pierre Thomas for touchdowns scored in Saints history. He now sits at ninth overall with 42 touchdowns combined between his efforts as a runner, receiver and returner, a perfect illustration of just how much of a Swiss army knife he truly is. Eric Martin is next ahead of him with 48 touchdowns scored.

Several teams have tried to replicate Hill over the years and have failed to this point, and it’s easy to get the sense there may never be another quite like him. The Saints get to reap the fortune of that at the rest of the league’s expense.

Sunday’s touchdown run marked the 13th rushing touchdown in his career.

Hill came into the game with 10 receptions on 14 targets for 100 yards, also totaling 130 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries.

How he continues to add to his legacy both in this game and down the rest of the schedule will be something to watch.

The Saints lead the Browns, 7-6 at the top of the second quarter.

Mike Williams takes shots at Aaron Rodgers following game-deciding TD

Mike Williams took a shot at Aaron Rodgers on social media after his Week 10 game-winning TD, referencing their past tension

It’s safe to say that QB Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets won’t be getting the last laugh anytime soon, as former Jet and current Steelers WR Mike Williams is quickly becoming a fan favorite in the Steel City. Williams seemingly still has a chip on his shoulder following his exit from New York and took a shot at his former QB.

After his team’s victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 10, Williams quickly took to social media to showcase an image of his incredible game-deciding TD reception late in the fourth quarter, with a caption containing an interesting jab at Rodgers:  “RedLine”.

This is, of course, referencing Rodgers’ infamous public call-out of Williams for running the wrong route, the ‘red line,’ following the Jets’ loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 6.

Rodgers and Williams seemingly have unresolved drama from their time as teammates in New York. However, it’s reassuring that with his performance in Week 10—scoring as many points as the entire New York Jets’ offense did on Sunday—Williams can put this chapter to bed.

WATCH: Marquez Valdes-Scantling scores first Saints TD in style

WATCH: Marquez Valdes-Scantling scored his first Saints touchdown in style, with a 40-yard strike against the Falcons

The New Orleans Saints offense is finally showing signs of life, and recently signed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s second reception with the Saints was an absolutely amazing one. MVS got up and over the safety in Justin Simmons, and was able to pull away from the trailing defender so Derek Carr could drop it in the basket for a 40-yard touchdown.

This was the longest Saints play since Foster Moreau’s 41-yard reception against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Valdes-Scantling was brought in to be a deep threat for the Saints in light of the injury to Rashid Shaheed, and boy has MVS lived up to that moniker with this touchdown.

Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman refuses to be known as a ‘forgotten receiver’

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman refuses to be known as a ‘forgotten receiver’ | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman has proven himself a reliable option on the team. He earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie and performed well in the most significant moments of the team’s successful run. He spoke with reporters on Wednesday about his role in the offense and possibly being the ‘forgotten receiver’ due to the arrival of DeAndre Hopkins.

“No, I don’t know. Man, I don’t really look at it like that. I think I’m more just; I’m always a guy of opportunity. I have always been like that since I got here, and that’s how I played that role. Whenever the opportunity comes or presents itself, just take advantage of it, no matter the circumstances.” said Hardman. “As far as a forgotten receiver. No, maybe they do. But, once I make a big play, they still know I’m there, you know, in a sense, but I’m just a guy whenever an opportunity presents itself, I just take advantage and just keep going like that.”

The three-time champion was the hero during Super Bowl LVIII, scoring the game-winning touchdown in overtime. This season, he’s been primarily utilized on special teams as the team’s top returner while appearing on several offensive sets in games. Hardman has nine catches for 75 yards and has a rushing touchdown on the season through nine weeks.

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers: Kareem Hunt scores game-winning touchdown in overtime

Kareem Hunt scored a game-winning touchdown to lift the #Chiefs to victory over the #Buccaneers in overtime on “Monday Night Football.”

The Kansas City Chiefs advanced their regular season record to 8-0 by defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Super Bowl LV rematch on “Monday Night Football.”

Though Kansas City’s performance was defined by the efforts of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and newly acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who combined for two touchdowns in the primetime matchup, it was running back Kareem Hunt who made the game-winning play in overtime.

Mahomes marched the Chiefs’ offense downfield after Kansas City won the overtime coin toss, and when Hunt was handed the ball near the end zone, he wasted no time dealing the final blow to the Buccaneers.

Check out this video of Hunt’s game-winning touchdown, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Hunt rushed for 106 yards on 27 attempts against Tampa Bay and was among Kansas City’s most impactful contributors.

Stay tuned to see if Hunt can replicate this outstanding performance in Week 10 against the Denver Broncos.

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers: Patrick Mahomes, Samaje Perine connect for game-tying touchdown

#Chiefs RB Samaje Perine caught a touchdown pass from QB Patrick Mahomes against the #Buccaneers in Week 9 on “Monday Night Football.’

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a fierce back-and-forth battle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.”

After taking an early lead, costly offensive mistakes saw the Chiefs go down 17-10 heading into the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes got off to a rough start to begin the second half, but the reigning Super Bowl MVP put together a near-perfect drive in the fourth quarter that ended with a touchdown pass to running back Samaje Perine.

Take a look at Mahomes’ scoring connection with Perine in this video, which was posted by the NFL’s official Twitter account:

Though Kansas City managed to tie the game, Mahomes had to be helped off the field after aggravating an ankle injury that he sustained in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Stay tuned to see if the Chiefs can keep their perfect season alive by closing out this primetime matchup with a fourth-quarter comeback.
