Nets’ Kyrie Irving talks about being uncomfortable behind LBJ, KD

In a preview for HBO’s The Shop, Nets’ guard Kyrie Irving opens up about playing behind LeBron James and teammate Kevin Durant.

Kyrie Irving is returning to the Brooklyn Nets this season after not seeing eye-to-eye with management earlier this summer, and the star just opened up on how “uncomfortable” it can be to play behind icons like LeBron James and teammate Kevin Durant.

In a preview for the upcoming Uninterrupted show ‘The Shop’, Irving took a seat alongside renowned actors, entrepreneurs and other celebrities, including Idris Elba and Drew Barrymore.

“Playing with ‘Bron and playing with KD, within our culture they are true icons, but I had to fill in those shoes that were very uncomfortable for me,” Irving said.

Irving also discussed his artistic vision on the court.

“The tool I chose to use as my paintbrush is my basketball. When I describe myself as an artist it gives me an opportunity to do whatever I want.”

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson to be featured on LeBron James’ show ‘The Shop’

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will star in Season Five of LeBron James’ show “The Shop”

The Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 offseason began at the beginning of January, but that doesn’t mean players on the team aren’t keeping busy. There have already been many examples of Baltimore out and about as they enjoy their offseason and partake in different activities.

Some Ravens players have appeared on different shows throughout the last few months as they share their opinions on different topics. One of the more anticipated appearances from a Baltimore player will be that of Lamar Jackson, who will star in the fifth-season of LeBron James’ award-winning show “The Shop“.

Jackson will star alongside others such as Donald Glover, J Balvin, Quinta Brunson and James himself. According to the YouTube page of Uninterrupted, guests will speak on “the power of music, the rise of Latinos in the music scene, the difference between making music and television as well as LeBron speaking about breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Most NBA Points Record.”

Season Five of “The Shop” premieres this Friday at 9AM EST on Uninterrupted’s YouTube channel.

Tom Brady recounts Lombardi Trophy toss during Bucs’ Super Bowl parade on ‘The Shop’

The Super Bowl parade in Tampa Bay just hit differently for Tom Brady.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a legendary victory parade after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 in Super Bowl LV to clinch the franchise’s second league championship.

Part of what made that victory parade go viral was quarterback Tom Brady’s infamous Lombardi Trophy toss, where he flung the championship trophy to another boat.

Brady appeared on Friday’s episode of HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted, where he discussed a myriad of topics, including that viral trophy toss back in February.

Brady recalled how this was the first victory parade where it wasn’t 30 degrees outside, which left a somewhat sobering effect. Down in Tampa, the atmosphere allowed Brady to enjoy the moment a little more.

https://youtu.be/rIR3sukjVHI

“It was fun,” Brady said. “I had been in the Northeast for 20 years. So it’s like freezing cold when we won and it was like 38 (degrees). We were freezing by the end of the parade like, ‘Get me home!’

“This one we’re on a boat. It’s 85 degrees. We’re drinking tequila all day. I’ve got the Super Bowl trophy in my hand. I’m in my boat. Chelsea’s where the other boat is and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m going to throw it to my boys over there.’ So I throw it and the bottom of this trophy is sharp. It could’ve gone so bad.”

While it could’ve gone horribly bad, Brady completed the pass — like he’s completed countless others — to tight end Cameron Brate, which seemed to make Brady’s seventh Super Bowl parade the best yet.

Tom Brady may take shot at Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers in TV show

Tom Brady might still be holding a grudge against the 49ers for not signing him and sticking with Jimmy Garoppolo.

For more than a short time during the 2020 offseason, there was a real chance that Tom Brady’s free agency was going to end with him in a 49ers uniform. San Francisco’s interest ultimately waned, and the future Hall of Famer wound up in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers. While Brady hasn’t outwardly spoken about his potential signing with his hometown team, he might open up about it in an episode of The Shop on HBO.

A trailer for the show featured a line from Brady’s upcoming appearance on the program. It’s a short clip without context, but he says, “one of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end, I was thinking, ‘you’re sticking with that mother-‘” and the clip cuts away to laughter from the other people on the show.

It’s the only piece of the trailer featuring the quarterback, but there are plenty of reasons to believe he’s talking about the 49ers.

There was at least initial interest in Brady from San Francisco. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch confirmed as much, and even went so far as to alert Jimmy Garoppolo that they were kicking tires on the then 42-year-old. There were also reports that Brady, a native of San Mateo who grew up a 49ers fan, wanted to head West to play for his childhood team and had them first on his list of desired destinations.

Again, the clip is short and lacking context, but the bits of evidence we have indicate he’s talking about Garoppolo and the 49ers.

He says the team wasn’t “interested at the very end,” which tracks with what we know about San Francisco’s pursuit. They were interested early, but wound up backing away and rolling into 2020 with Garoppolo.

The fact it was Garoppolo also plays a little bit of a role in why Brady might be upset. The Patriots drafted Garoppolo in the second round of the 2014 draft in hopes of eventually using him to replace Brady. Surely there was at least some competitive tension between the two players, and the fact Garoppolo was blocking Brady from landing with his hometown club could’ve struck a nerve.

Brady to this point hasn’t made a habit of torching fellow players or burning bridges, but as he enters the twilight (maybe) of his career and appears on shows like The Shop, he may be more receptive to airing out some behind-the-scenes information that he might’ve kept private in the past.

Brady responded to the 49ers passing on him by winning the Super Bowl against the Chiefs team San Francisco lost to the prior year. Meanwhile, Garoppolo dealt with injuries and the 49ers stumbled to a 6-10 finish. Even if there is some animosity from Brady toward San Francisco, it’s hard to imagine it’s lingering much after his success with Tampa Bay in 2020.

LeBron joked to Barack Obama that he will ‘cherrypick’ in early season

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James recently had Barack Obama on a new ‘The Shop’ and joked about how he will approach the early season.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been busy with plenty of off-court pursuits since before the season ended, which continued this weekend when he hosted 44th President of the United States Barack Obama with him and Maverick Carter on the latest episode of ‘The Shop.’ The crux of the conversation was centered on Tuesday’s election and the importance of voting, which are the reasons why James and Carter started the advocacy group, ‘More Than A Vote.’ The episode included James sharing that this election was the first time his mother, Gloria, voted.

But of course, with Obama being perhaps the country’s most famous NBA fan, they had to talk a little hoop. Carter lobbed up a statement that the NBA season will start soon and Obama also served up a joke that he won’t get back on defense, which led to LeBron saying he would only “cherry-pick” in the first part of the season. The exchange was transcribed by SB Nation’s Harrison Faigen.

Carter: LeBron, the season is coming up, you got 10 more years? Five more years? You looked like you’ve got about five to 10 the last time we saw you on the court.”

Obama: You know what though? He’s definitely gonna have some minutes restrictions. I’m not sure he’s getting back on D the first half of the season.

LeBron: (laughing) The first half of the season, I’m cherry-picking the whole first half of the season (laughs).

Obama: Hey, you’ve got to save yourself for when it counts.

LeBron: Yes sir.

So whether the season starts in December like the NBA wants or in mid-January when it’s reported the players want to start, all jokes aside, LeBron is going to get the engine going with a slow burn.

Barack Obama shouts out LeBron James’ Mom Gloria in new ‘The Shop’

44th President Barack Obama gave a shout out to LeBron’s Mom, after LeBron shares about his Mom voting, on the newest episode of ‘The Shop.’

Later on this week, 44th President of the United States Barack Obama will appear on a special, election season special edition of ‘The Shop,’ Uninterrupted’s longstanding talk show on HBO. The episode premieres on Friday, October 30 for HBO subscribers but will premiere on multiple platforms that will be free to non-subscribers the following day.

Among the discussions on the show, one of the early snippets of the latest episode is LeBron talking about his mother Gloria being excited to vote. While he said he’s not sure if it’s the first time his mother has voted, it’s the first time she’s ever talked about it with him, which drew some praise from Obama.

Over the past few weeks, ‘More Than A Vote’ has released a couple of PSA’s in the homestretch of the election season, both about making a plan to vote and also knowing how to combat misinformation online. The new episode of “The Shop” figures to also center on doing your civic duty. Also, with it now being less than a week until the election, the best option for getting your ballot in at this point is to find your nearest ballot drop box.

Barack Obama will make an appearance on ‘The Shop’ with LeBron James

Just in time for election day.

LeBron James has had some esteemed guests come on his barbershop-themed talkshow “The Shop” over the years.

Stars like Drake, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dogg, Jon Stewart and more have all stopped by and made appearances just chopping it up with LeBron James and other hoopers.

None of those names quite hit like Barack Obama, though. The former President of the United States will be James’ next guest on the show this upcoming Friday, October 30th, just in time for election day on November 3.

Obama announced his appearance on Tuesday morning with a tweet along with a quick clip of the episode. They’re talking about everything from the NBA bubble to social justice and the election.

Sounds like a good conversation. Who knows? Maybe we’ll get some more details on how Obama stopped the NBA bubble from collapsing.

This should be a good one.

Barack Obama to join LeBron James in new election-themed ‘The Shop’

Former President Barack Obama is set to join LeBron James and Maverick Carter in a new episode of ‘The Shop,’ centered on the election.

LeBron James and his ‘More Than A Vote’ voting rights coalition are putting things into high gear with a week to go before the general election in the United States. Early voting is already going on across the country and ‘More than A Vote’ has made increased efforts to combat disinformation online, as well as encouraging potential voters to make a plan for when they will vote. The final push now also includes an election-themed episode of ‘The Shop,’ where former president Barack Obama will join LeBron James and Maverick Carter on the eve of the Nov. 3 general election.

The new episode of ‘The Shop’ will premiere on Friday, October 30 on HBO Max. However, it will also be available to non-HBO subscribers on multiple HBO and HBO Max platforms, including YouTube, starting on October 31.

Obama and James have had a friendship for some time. Obama was also someone LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Player’s union leaders during the brief work stoppage inside the bubble led by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Patrick Mahomes on ‘The Shop’: I just learned how to read defenses

The Super Bowl MVP and star of the Kansas City Chiefs says that he just started to understand some of the finer points of QB play.

As if the thought of going against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense wasn’t scary enough for the rest of the NFL, Mahomes made some incredible revelations that will likely have the rest of the NFL more paranoid than ever when it comes to trying to knock the Chiefs off the top of the mountain next season.

Mahomes is one of the featured guests for Saturday night’s Season 3 premiere of HBO/UNINTERRUPTED’s ‘The Shop’ and during the show, he said that he has only played quarterback for six seasons and that he didn’t start understanding how to read defenses until the middle of last season.

So if we are listening clearly, that means that when Mahomes threw for 50 touchdowns and won the NFL MVP award in his first full season as the Chiefs quarterback in 2018, he didn’t even really know what the defenses were running before the play. He was playing purely off of instinct. So if that understanding continues to grow, the Chiefs and Mahomes will be even harder to stop than they already are.

Will Smith reflects on starring in ‘Bad Boys’ with Martin Lawrence in 1995 on ‘The Shop’

The stars of the Bad Boys franchise will both be guests on the latest episode of HBO/UNINTERRUPTED’s ‘The Shop’ with LeBron James.

The latest episode of HBO and UNINTERRUPTED’s ‘The Shop,’ may be the most star-studded version of the show ever as some of the biggest stars in entertainment join LeBron James and Maverick Carter in a new episode that is set to premiere on Saturday night.

Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, C.C. Sabathia, and Chance The Rapper will join LeBron, Carter and the show’s co-creator Paul Rivera on Saturday night’s episode. HBO released a trailer of what viewers will be able to see on Saturday night at 10 p.m. EST on all of HBO’s platforms. In the trailer, Will Smith reflected on what it was like starring in “Bad Boys” with Martin Lawrence, a movie with two black lead actors, back in 1995.

The timing of getting Smith and Lawrence together was not accidental. The third installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise, “Bad Boys 3,” is set to come out in theaters on Jan. 20, 2020. Smith also reflects on parenting his children, who also have had major entertainment careers.

The last episode of ‘The Shop’ featured California governor Gavin Newsom signing a bill into law that allowed amateur athletes to be able to profit off of their own likeness.
