Breaking: 4-star ATH Drelon Miller decommits from Texas A&M, reopens his recruitment

4-star athlete Drelon Miller announced his decommitment from Texas A&M on Tuesday night, opting to reopen his recruitment before December’s signing day.

A dose of disappointing news hit Texas A&M on Tuesday evening, as four-star athlete Drelon Miller announced his commitment from the Aggies. The Silsbee (Texas) prospect unveiled his decision in a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

The No. 14 wide receiver in the nation and No. 12 overall prospect in Texas committed to Texas A&M back in June. However, as the Maroon and White have struggled offensively in the last few weeks, Miller reportedly reconsidered his decision.

In speaking with Mike Roach of 247Sports, Miller’s father indicated that they are approaching this next stage like a new recruitment in itself and will not make any quick and hasty decisions. Miller is coming off a visit to LSU last weekend, and the Tigers were one of the final schools in the mix back when he originally committed to the Aggies.

In addition to the Tigers, USC, Colorado, and Georgia could all be in the mix, according to 247Sports.

Texas A&M and the Aggie fanbase understand that Miller must do what’s best for him and this significant stage in his career. We wish him the best of luck as he reopens his recruitment and will fully support him no matter where his next home is.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class skyrockets to Top 3 ranking following Terry Bussey’s commitment

With 5-star athlete Terry Bussey’s commitment, the Aggies’ 2024 class has skyrocketed into the top-three, according to 247Sports composite.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class welcomed one of the best athletes in the country as five-star Terry Bussey announced his commitment to the Aggies Thursday night. His addition is already making waves regarding the college football recruiting class rankings.

With Bussey’s commitment, the Aggies stand at 22 current commits and have skyrocketed into 247Sports’ top-three rankings. Texas A&M’s 2024 class is ranked No. 3 overall, behind only Georgia and Ohio State. Florida and Auburn round out the top five.

Bussey profiles as one of the best players in the country and is the top-rated athlete according to the Top247 rankings. The Timpson product joins fellow five-star commits Cameron Coleman and Dominick McKinley in the Aggies’ 2024 class.

It’s not an overstatement to say Bussey comes in as the best two-way athlete since the likes of Travis Hunter, who is balling out for the Colorado Buffaloes.

A&M beat out the likes of Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, and Alabama, with each program selling Bussey on playing on either side of the ball. For the Aggies, the five-star athlete has been a top target at cornerback after picking up an offer in June 2022.

It remains to be seen which side he prefers when he makes his way into College Station, but given what we’ve seen with Hunter at Colorado, getting reps on both offense and defense can’t be ruled out. Nonetheless, Bussey’s commitment only further justifies the bright future in Aggieland.

5-star WR Cameron Coleman remains locked in to Texas A&M, but has additional school visits scheduled

The five-star wide receiver remains locked in to Texas A&M, but is doing his due diligence with other school visits on the horizon.

The social media cynics got an extra dose of amusement after it was reported that a particular Texas A&M five-star commit would be taking visits with additional schools.

Cameron Coleman, the six-foot-three, 180-pound future star out of Central (AL), started the fireworks early when he committed to the Aggies on July 4. Since that milestone, he’s been a continuous highlight reel as he continues to dominate during his senior season. But while he continues to make defenses pay on the field, he’s simultaneously doing his due diligence off it.

As reported by On3’s Chad Simmons, Coleman remains committed to Texas A&M, but he still plans to visit other schools throughout this fall. Colorado and Penn State are officially on the list, while Florida and Florida State are among the possible visits. Additionally, Coleman echoed his intent to get back to Auburn as well, who were in the running down to his commitment back in July.

“I am going to take more visits, and I will get back to Auburn soon. I am planning to take official visits to Colorado and Penn State. Florida and Florida State might get official visits, too.”

Is it time to sound the alarm in College Station? No, this does not appear to be a “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” scenario. Rather, it sounds like Coleman is doing his due diligence just like any other top recruit should.

You always want to make sure you exhaust every possible scenario before making a life-changing decision, and Coleman is doing just that.

It’s also keen to note that while he has additional school visits scheduled, Coleman is expected to be in Aggieland this weekend as Texas A&M faces Auburn in their first SEC game of the year. Seeing a dominant performance from the likes of Evan Stewart would serve as an ample reminder of why Coleman is next in line of a long list of Aggie wide receiver greats.

Texas A&M basketball boasts three top 150 commits in latest 247Sports rankings update

With 247Sports releasing a massive player rankings update, the Aggies boast three commits in the top 150 in Andre Mills, George Turkson, and Rob Dockery.

As the summer winds down and college basketball season draws near, it’s worth a pulse check on how Texas A&M basketball’s 2024 recruiting class is sizing up in the latest rankings.

On Wednesday morning, the 247Sports team released a significant update to their player rankings. Not only was the 2024 class given an update, but so were the 2025 and 2026 classes. Given that the Aggies currently do not have commits in the 2025 and 2026 cycles, this breakdown will focus solely on Texas A&M’s trio of commits in the 2024 class.

The great news is that all three A&M commitments in the 2024 class remain in the top 150 of the latest rankings update. As a refresher, guard Andre Mills, forward George Turkson, and forward Rob Dockery have all verbally committed to the Maroon and White.

Mills, who hails from Brimmer and May, holds the title of A&M’s highest-rated commit with a rating of 90, and he now sits as the No. 96 player nationally, according to 247Sports. Not far behind is his fellow AAU teammate in Turkson. The power forward out of Bradford Christian Academy has an 89 rating and is positioned as the No. 104 player nationally.

Dockery clocks in as the No. 110 prospect in the Top247 rankings. The 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward marks Texas A&M’s longest-tenured commit, having verbally committed to the Aggies since December 2022.

Head coach Buzz Williams and his staff are far from finished on the recruiting trail, but as always, it’s worth seeing how the Aggies fare against the competition. A&M currently boasts the No. 2 class in the SEC, trailing only Missouri.

Social media reacts to Texas A&M landing 5-star DL Dominick McKinley

Following Dominick McKinley’s commitment to Texas A&M, social media was ablaze with reactions. Here is a look at some of the best after the Aggies’ latest recruiting win.

Before Texas A&M seeks its first win of the 2023 college football season, they notched a huge victory on the recruiting trail the night before. On Friday afternoon, five-star Acadiana defensive lineman Dominick McKinley announced his commitment to the Aggies, spurning the likes of TexasOklahoma, and LSU.

Texas A&M’s recruiting hot streak continues to soar with their latest rise in 247Sports’ team rankings, as well as On3’s rankings. When it’s all said and done, the Maroon and White should firmly finish with a top-five recruiting class during the 2024 cycle.

Their success on the recruiting trail speaks not only to the prowess of Jimbo Fisher but most notably defensive line coach Elijah Robinson. He continues to illustrate why he’s one of the best recruiters in the country with McKinley’s commitment coming one year after securing a commitment from five-star DL David Hicks Jr.

Naturally, after McKinley spurned the likes of the Longhorns and Tigers, social media was ablaze with reactions. For Aggie fans, there could never be more excitement in what is shaping up to be a promising defensive line group for years to come.

Here is a look at some of the best social media reactions to Dominick McKinley’s commitment to Texas A&M.

Class of 2024 RHP Drew Rerick has committed to Texas A&M baseball

In adding Rerick to their 2024 class, Texas A&M is getting a top 50 national prospect and the number on RHP in the state of North Dakota.

Texas A&M baseball is hot on the recruiting trail after adding one of the best arms in the country to their 2024 recruiting class.

On Monday night, class of 2024 RHP Drew Rerick announced his commitment to the Maroon and White. Rerick is a top 50 national prospect, and with his commitment, Coach Jim Schlossnagle and the Aggies now have both the number one RHP in the state of North Dakota and the top LHP in the state of Minnesota committed to their 2024 class.

Rerick is heading into his senior season at Fargo Davies High School and was named to the 2023 All-American Classic.

Rerick joins fellow RHP commit Houston Tomlinson out of Grand Oaks High School in Spring, Texas, who announced that he would continue his collegiate career with the Aggies last month. Both pitchers are joined by a trio of talents that include Flower Mound (Texas) outfielder Caden Sorrell, Villa Park (California) outfielder Gavin Grahovic, and Montgomery County (Texas) Lake Creek RHP Weston Moss, who all withdrew their names from the 2023 MLB Draft to join the Aggies for the 2024 campaign.

Rerick’s addition should bolster the depth in the Aggies’ bullpen after RHP Nathan Dettmer, LHP Brandyn Garcia, and LHP Will Johnston all heard their names called in this year’s draft. Texas A&M ended the 2023 season with a cumulative 5.67 ERA, highlighting how their performance on the mound will be a key area of improvement next season.

Congratulations to Drew on your commitment! Gig ’em!

Texas A&M fails to make 2024 5-star Edge Colin Simmons’ final Top 3 program list

Even after his recent visit to College Station, Texas A&M failed to make 2024 5-star Edge Colin Simmons’ Top 3 list

The 2024 five-star Edge Colin Simmons recruiting battle is finally near the finish line. However, for Texas A&M, it’s time to move on and focus on the rest of the remaining Edge prospects in the cycle as LSU, Miami, and, yes, the Texas Longhorns are the lone programs to make his final Top 3 program list.

According to 247Sports Composite, Simmons is currently positioned as the 8th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the No.1-ranked Edge prospect, and the No.1-ranked player in Texas. Although Miami is still in the fight, LSU and Texas are in stiff competition, while the Tigers remain the leaders with a 57.1% chance to land Simmons, while receiving the vaunted Steve Wiltfong Crystal Prediction to boot.

Standing at 6-3 and 225 pounds, strength, bend, and speed to power define Simmons’s ability as a pass rusher, and like most high-end athletes coming out of the high school ranks, he’ll quickly develop his pass rush arsenal as soon as he enters a collegiate program. Good luck Colin!

2024 LS and Aggie legacy Jackson Graham commits to Texas A&M

Boom! 2024 long snapper, and Aggie legacy, Jackson Graham is the latest commit to join Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class.

Boom! Texas A&M has secured its 19th commitment in its 2024 recruiting class in the form of fullback and long snapper, as well as Aggie legacy, Jackson Graham. Jackson is the younger brother of current Aggie football player Jacob Graham, who is set to take over defensive specialist duties for Texas A&M in the fall.

Jackson happens to be one of the nation’s best long snappers in the 2024 class and should be equipped to follow in his brother’s footsteps once he arrives in College Station next season. He took to social media on Tuesday to share the news of his commitment, thanking his coaches, family, and all who have supported him on his journey toward becoming a collegiate athlete.

“After lots of conversations, discussions, and prayers. I’m excited to announce that I’ll be continuing my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University. I’d like to thank my family who had my back from day 1, never doubted me and held me accountable for everything. I’d like to thank my coaches, especially coach Gatto and coach ARob for pushing me to be the best athlete, teammate, and person I can be. And finally thank you god for the opportunities and blessings you’ve given me all my life to become a collegiate athlete. #Gig’em”

It’s always a joy to see an Aggie legacy continue the tradition in College Station. Congratulations, Jackson! Gig ’em!

2024 5-Star ATH/WR Terry Bussey is a confirmed visitor for Texas A&M this weekend

It has been reported that 2024 5-star Ath/WR Terry Bussey will in fact visit Texas A&M this coming weekend, confirming the previous rumors

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is essentially a wide receiver factory with the recent additions of five-star Cam Coleman and the trio of four-star receivers, including Drelon Miller, Jaylan Hornsby, Debron Gatling, and Earnest Campbell.

With the annual Aggies recruiting pool party set to take place this coming weekend, 2024 5-star ATH/WR Terry Bussey, one of the country’s most talented and productive high school players, is returning to College Station for his second visit this summer since June 9. Earlier this month, rumors regarding the potential visitor list for the pool party were released, which included Bussey, whose confirmation is beyond excellent news as he is coming off consecutive visits to LSU and Oklahoma.

According to On3’s Industry Rankings, Bussey is the 2nd-ranked athlete in the class, and the 5th-ranked player in Texas, as his incredible stat line from his 2022 junior season at Timpson High School in Timpson, Texas, throwing for 2,177 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 64% completion percentage as the starting quarterback while rushing for 2,596 yards and 46 touchdowns with a 14-yard per rush average. Bussey recorded over 115 tackles and five interceptions as a two-way player, with four returned for touchdowns as a defensive back.

Bussey is being recruited by Aggies’ defensive backs coach TJ Rushing and defensive assistant Bryant Gross-Armiento as a cornerback. Still, due to his elite ability on offense, I wouldn’t be surprised if discussions surrounding a role at wide receiver are being discussed. Bussey will join several other elite 2024 prospects this week as the final visitor list is nearing completion.

2024 4-star CB Cai Bates sets his official commitment date

2024 4-star cornerback and Texas A&M recruiting target Cai Bates has set his commitment date for Wednesday, July 26.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is one of the hottest growing cycles in the country. After adding 13 prospects since June, plenty of talented players remain uncommitted, including four-star cornerback Cai Bates, who recently announced his upcoming commitment on Wednesday, July 26.

Bates, who is currently positioned as the 103rd-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 9th-ranked cornerback, and the 17th-ranked player in Florida, released his Top 10 program list last month made up of Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Colorado, UCF, Ohio State, Maryland, and Texas A&M.

Standing at 6-2 and 180 pounds, Bate’s versatility as a former wide receiver is one of the primary reasons he has received over 43 offers so far, leading to his two-way player performance during his 2022 junior season, recording 17 receptions for 241 yards and one touchdown combined with four interceptions and seven pass breakups. His speed, length, and natural ball skills set him apart from an athletic standpoint, although he still needs time to adapt to the technical aspects of the position entirely.

After taking an unofficial visit to College Station on May 27, just six days after the Aggies fielded an offer, Texas A&M is on the outside looking in, as LSU holds a slight lead after recently hosting Bates in late June.
