How Oklahoma wins, loses against TCU

After a treacherous but so far undefeated November, Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1) has one more game at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

After a treacherous but so far undefeated Nov., Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1) has one more game at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The Sooners host TCU (5-5, 3-4) for Senior Night.

OKLAHOMA LOSES IF…

… they play all 60 minutes the same way they played the first half against Baylor.

It’s that simple. TCU has athletes and they always play the Sooners tough but Oklahoma is just the better team. Since joining the Big 12, the Horned Frogs are just 1-4 against the Sooners. Only the biggest of hangovers will keep Oklahoma out of the win column in this one.

… Gary Patterson pulls another 2005.

I’m sorry I’m bringing this up. The 2005 game was the first loss I saw in person.

Honestly, if Gary Patterson can shut the Sooners out for three quarters like he did back then, he may get a statue in front of Amon G. Carter Stadium before TCU makes it back to Fort Worth, Texas.

OKLAHOMA WINS IF…

…they do what they’re supposed to do.

The Sooners have made themselves look like pretenders over the past three to four weeks. With a dominant first half of the season, Oklahoma has had a hard time either starting or finishing games since the halfway mark of the season passed.

A full game that shows dominance and control over the Horned Frogs will bode well for the Sooners as the season comes to a close.

Oklahoma and TCU are slated to kickoff at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.

Texas Christian at Oklahoma odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s TCU Horned Frogs at Oklahoma Sooners matchup, with college football analysis, betting odds, picks a best bets.

The Oklahoma Sooners (9-1, 6-1) host the Texas Christian Horned Frogs (5-5, 3-4) Saturday in Normal at 8 p.m. ET.

We analyze the TCU-Oklahoma odds and betting lines, while providing college football betting tips and advice on this matchup.

TCU at Oklahoma: Three things you need to know

1. The Horned Frogs won at Texas Tech last week, 33-31, but they haven’t won consecutive games since Aug. 31-Sept. 14 against FCS Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Purdue

2. Oklahoma ranks No. 1 in the country with 581.1 total yards per game, while ranking fifth with 333.8 passing yards per game and third in the nation with 47.0 PPG.

3. Sooners WR CeeDee Lamb (head) missed last week’s game at Baylor, and he remains questionable.

Prediction

Oklahoma 48, TCU 24

Moneyline (ML)

Oklahoma (-910) is just too costly at this price level, and you cannot trust TCU (+560), even with a shaky Sooners defense and Lamb uncertain to play.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on Oklahoma to win would return a profit of $1.10.

Against the Spread (ATS)

OKLAHOMA (-18.5, -106) has a high-octane offensive attack, led by dynamic QB Jalen Hurts, and even if Lamb doesn’t play, it proved last week the offense is deep enough to overcome his absence. TCU (+18.5, -115) is desperate, needing a win this week or next week to attain bowl eligibility. The Horned Frogs host West Virginia next week in a much more winnable game. The Sooners are going to blow their doors off.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 64.5 (-110) has been the play in games involving the Sooners lately, going 3-1. Oklahoma has registered 34 or more points in all 10 of its games to date. The Over is also 4-0 in the past four for the Horned Frogs.

CeeDee Lamb’s status for TCU game ‘up in the air’ per Lincoln Riley

The Sooners’ best player may or may not get an opportunity to play in what may be his last home game.

Oklahoma’s best player may or may not get an opportunity to play in what may be his last home game.

Wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb was held out of last Saturday’s game with a undisclosed head injury. Lamb did suit up and go through warm ups in full pads and helmet. However, once game time rolled around, Lamb was without his helmet and changed into street clothes at halftime.

Per Lincoln Riley, Lamb’s availability for this week’s game against TCU is “up in the air”. Without Lamb, multiple wide receivers stepped up against Baylor, including two touchdowns from true freshman, Austin Stogner and one touchdown caught by true freshman, Theo Weese.

Lamb was just named to the Biletnikoff semifinal list today and is the only Big 12 representative on the list.

On the season, Lamb has 983 yards receiving on just 44 receptions, including 13 touchdowns.

Oklahoma and TCU are set to kickoff at 7p.m. CT on FOX.

TCU at Texas Tech odds: Red Raiders short dogs at home

Previewing Saturday’s TCU at Texas Tech college football matchup, with college football betting odds, picks and best bets

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs (4-5, 2-4 Big 12) and Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-5, 2-4) do battle at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas, at noon ET Saturday in an elimination game of sorts.

We analyze the TCU-Texas Tech odds and betting lines, while providing college football betting tips and advice on this matchup.

TCU at Texas Tech: Three things you need to know

1. With a game at Oklahoma still on the schedule, TCU can ill-afford a sixth loss in this one if its wants to attain bowl eligibility. The Horned Frogs are coming off a demoralizing 29-23 loss in triple-overtime last week at home to unbeaten Baylor.

2. Texas Tech is in the same boat, as the Red Raiders cannot afford a loss in this one with Kansas State and Texas remaining on the schedule. If they want to go bowling, a win Saturday is imperative.

3. TCU is 2-5 against the spread in the past seven meetings, while going 1-4 ATS in the past five trips to Lubbock.

Prediction

TCU 34, Texas Tech 29

Moneyline (ML)

TCU (-159) nearly dealt Baylor the Bears’ first loss last week, but Baylor forced overtime with a long field in the final minute of regulation. The Horned Frogs then blew it defensively and are in a tough spot heading into this one. Despite some terrible luck against the number against Texas Tech (+130), look to the Horned Frogs to win this one outright.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on Iowa State to win would return a profit of $6.30.

Against the Spread (ATS)

TCU (-2.5, -134) hits the road looking to turn things around against the number in this series. The Horned Frogs are also just 2-6 ATS in the past eight road games, and 1-4 ATS in the past five inside the Big 12. While Texas Tech is 3-1-1 ATS in the past five, and 3-0-1 ATS in the past four at home, Texas Tech’s awful defense will be the difference here. The Red Raiders rank 121st in total yards allowed (470.3) and 127th in passing yards given up (308.6).

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER (56.5, -110) is the worth a look. TCU struggled offensively last week, at least in regulation, before a bad-beat over connected. The Horned Frogs should find a lot more room to operate in Lubbock. The over is 6-1 in the past seven for TCU, and 6-1 in the school’s past seven conference games, too. The over is 4-1-1 in Texas Tech’s past six overall, too.
