Georgia included among top schools for nation’s No. 3 LB

UGA is once again in play for one of the top linebackers in the country.

2025 linebacker Tavion Wallace included Georgia among his top 12 schools on Thursday, per a report from On3’s Fawcett.

Wallace (6 feet, 1 inch, 210 pounds) plays for Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia. He is the No. 3 linebacker in the country, the No. 26 overall recruit and the No. 8 player in the state, per 247Sports.

The four-star recruit is coming off a solid year for Wayne County, totaling 75 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss as a junior.

Wallace is also considering Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina, Missouri, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville and Michigan.

Wallace has upcoming visits with Arkansas (May 31), Georgia (June 7), Florida State (June 14) and South Carolina (June 21).

It’s no surprise UGA is once again in play for one of the top linebackers. The Bulldogs reputation for recruiting and developing players at the position is the best in country, especially recently, with six linebackers taken on the first two days of the NFL draft the last three years.

Top 50 linebacker Tavion Wallace has Kentucky in his final 12 schools

Linebacker Tavion Wallace puts Kentucky in his final 12 schools

The 2024 Kentucky Wildcats football season hasn’t yet begun, but the coaching staff is already working on the 2025 recruiting class. On Wednesday, they picked up a commitment from an offensive lineman, and on Thursday, Tavion Wallace, a top 50 player, put Kentucky in his final 12.

If the name sounds familiar to Wildcats fans, it should. His brother, Trevin Wallace, played linebacker in Lexington for the past three seasons, and will likely be drafted next month.

Tavion is the 50th ranked player, and sixth linebacker in the class by 247sports composite ranking. He is 6’1″ and around 200 lbs, so undersized as of now. Like his brother, he is a terrific athlete, who uses his speed effectively.

Other teams in Tavion’s final 12 are Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and LSU among others. The Seminoles are the current favorites, but Wildcats fans hope he chooses to follow in his older brother’s footsteps. It would be a major recruiting win for Mark Stoops and Vince Morrow.

Elite 2025 linebacker puts Michigan football in top group

Would be a big pull from SEC country. #GoBlue

Michigan football recruiting has been somewhat slow as the Wolverines adjust to the new-look staff under head coach Sherrone Moore. But it’s starting to heat up as Moore starts to host prospects on campus while reaching out to those who have interest in the maize and blue.

Among those who have interest is 2025 Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace, who is rated by 247Sports’ proprietary rankings as the No. 26 player in the country — regardless of position — which would make him a five-star once those are doled out.

Wallace released his top 12 schools on Thursday, and Michigan football made the cut.

The Wolverines are the only northern team to make his list, with the rest coming in via either the SEC or the ACC. Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Louisville, and Florida State, and Kentucky round out his top 12.

At the moment, Wallace has just one 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction indicating his potential school of choice and that’s to Florida State. His brother is on the roster at one of his top schools, and that happens to be Kentucky.

The fact that Michigan is mentioned bodes well for the Wolverines’ chances, not just because they’re listed, but because of all the listed schools, U-M is the most recent offer, having extended the invitation to come to Ann Arbor on March 7, 2024.

Tigers make the final 12 for top 50 Georgia linebacker Tavion Wallace

Tavion Wallace visited Baton Rouge earlier this month.

The LSU Tigers and coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] are off to a red-hot start on the recruiting trail in the 2025 cycle, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. Now, they’re also looking to add some elite defensive talent.

The Tigers made the top 12 for four-star Wayne County (Jesup, Ga.) linebacker [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag], which was first reported on Thursday by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Joining LSU in Wallace’s top 12 are Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, Florida State, Auburn, Florida, South Carolina and Arkansas.

Wallace took a trip to Baton Rouge earlier this month, and he’s had positive things to say about LSU in the past.

“Other than Florida, LSU’s been my dream school coming up,” he said in Feburary, per On3. Then when I went to their game, they played Georgia State — it wasn’t really a big game, but the environment and everything around, Louisiana…it gets crazy down there.

“The coaching staff, when I talk with Coach (Brian) Kelly, it was really all the things he said, ‘it’s bigger than football.’ All the coaching staff, it wasn’t just football they talked about, they talked about life and everything. Family, they were big on family, so that’s what really put them up there.”

Wallace ranks as the No. 44 player nationally and the No. 4 linebacker, per On3. He holds a Crystal Ball projection in favor of Florida State, and the Seminoles are a heavy favorite to land him at 83.9% per On3.

Top-rated LB from class of 2025 will visit Florida in April

The Florida Gators are expecting a visit from a coveted 4-star linebacker this April

The Florida Gators are expecting many visitors throughout the 2024 spring practices. Now they can expect another top high school athlete to grace the UF campus with his presence.

Four-star linebacker [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag] spoke with reporters from Swamp247 and said he’s planning to visit Gainesville on April 9. Wallace told reporters that he’s been a Gators fan since his youth, and has been enjoying his interactions with the Florida coaches.

“Growing up watching the Gators and going a lot of their games, it was a dream come true to finally go as a recruit,” Wallace said. “I would say some of the signs I really liked was getting to sit down with the coaches. They had come by my school to see me, but this was my first time really getting to hang around the coaching staff.”

Wallace has experience playing all three linebacker positions, something the Gators could certainly utilize going into the future. It’s also been a hot topic of conversation for how Wallace fits in at Florida.

“We talked about how I fit in the defense,” Wallace said. “I already play all three linebacker spots for my high school now, and that was something that stood out to Florida about me. They said I can be versatile and can play all of their spots for linebacker and even some pass rusher off the edge.”

The Jesup, Georgia, native is a 4-star linebacker with a No. 40 national ranking in the class of 2025, making him a highly sought after targets of this recruiting cycle. Wallace is also rated as the No. 6 linebacker in the nation, according to 247Sports.

LSU to host top-five 2025 linebacker for March visit

The Tigers will have to battle Florida State, which is a heavy favorite to land Tavion Wallace.

LSU has the makings of a special class in 2025, but coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and staff continue to push for top talent.

Now, they’ve secured a visit from [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag], a top-five linebacker in the 2025 class and a top-50 player nationally, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

The four-star prospect from Wayne County (Jesup, Ga.) — who is also a top 10 prospect in the state of Georgia — will be on campus for a visit on March 9, he announced on social media Saturday night.

In a previous interview with On3, he said that LSU was his dream school alongside Florida and that he had a positive impression of his visit for the Georgia State game this season.

“Other than Florida, LSU’s been my dream school coming up,” Wallace said. “Then when I went to their game, they played Georgia State — it wasn’t really a big game, but the environment and everything around, Louisiana…it gets crazy down there. The coaching staff, when I talk with Coach (Brian) Kelly, it was really all the things he said, ‘it’s bigger than football.’ All the coaching staff, it wasn’t just football they talked about, they talked about life and everything. Family, they were big on family, so that’s what really put them up there.”

Top 50 2025 LB Tavion Wallace breaks down LSU’s recruiting push

The Tigers have some ground to make up for the elite linebacker, but they remain in the mix.

LSU already has the makings of an elite 2025 recruiting class, and it continues to push for top talent in the cycle.

One out-of-state player it’s been trying to sway is four-star Wayne County (Jesup, Ga.) linebacker [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag]. A top 50 recruit nationally per the On3 Industry Rankings, Wallace recently went in depth with the site about his top contenders.

He said he grew up a Florida fan, but Florida State is currently the heavy favorite to land him, holding a Crystal Ball projection and sitting at 93% on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

However, LSU could sway him. He said that it was his dream school outside of Florida growing up. He took a visit in November for the Georgia State game, which was a positive experience overall.

“Other than Florida, LSU’s been my dream school coming up,” Wallace said, per On3.

LSU has quite a bit of ground to make up here, but it seems it is still in the mix for the No. 5 linebacker in the 2025 class.

Florida offers top-100 linebacker from class of 2025

The Florida Gators have already secured an elite linebacker class in the 2024 cycle, so now the recruiting staff is working on the 2025s.

The Florida Gators have already secured an elite linebacker class for the 2024 cycle, and now Billy Napier’s recruiting staff is targeting some of the top names in the junior class.

The most recent linebacker to pick up an offer from the Gators is top-100 recruit [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag] out of Wane County High School in Jesup, Georgia, according to Swamp247’s Blake Alderman.

Wallace told Alderman that he’s been in contact with Florida after a visit from the staff in the spring and that things are starting to pick up more now that coaches can reach out to him directly. August 1 marked the first day college coaches could reach out to the class of 2025. Before that, Wallace had to initiate contact.

A rare mix of speed and size makes Wallace one of the more intriguing linebackers in his class. He’s 6-foot-1-inches tall and 197 pounds but runs 40-yard dashes in the 4.40s and clocked an 11.05-second 100-meter dash time too.

Right now, the On3 recruiting prediction machine gives Florida State the best odds to land him at 30.8%, but South Carolina (26.8%) and Auburn (23.1%) are close behind. Florida (1.7%) should see a jump on that list too. Wallace grew up a Gators fan and even played for a youth club with the same mascot.

He’s planning on stopping by the Swamp during the fall for a game, but no dates have been worked out just yet.

“I want to see if it feels like home,” Wallace said. “… I don’t really need to see anything on a visit. I just know some coaches will tell you things when you are being recruited, but when you get there it’s a whole different thing. I just don’t want that to happen, so I want to see how the feeling is when I visit.”

Wallace is a consensus four-star recruit ranked No. 45 overall and No. 5 among linebackers from the class of 2025 on the On3 industry ranking.

Auburn is considered a ‘top school’ for local wide receiver

Following a successful stay at the Auburn Elite camp last weekend, four star WR Malcolm Simmons is strongly considering Auburn for his college home.

College football coaches everywhere want to snag the best players in every recruiting cycle. It is even a top priority to keep those who live near the university close to home.

Auburn has the chance to do that with four-star wide receiver [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag].

Simmons, who lives in nearby Alexander City, recently competed in the Auburn Elite camp alongside fellow Auburn targets [autotag]Bryce Cain[/autotag] and [autotag]Tavion Wallace[/autotag]. While there, he told Jason Caldwell of Auburn Undercover that he is strongly considering Auburn as his college home by saying that the Tigers are “going to be in his top schools.”

He also mentioned that wide receivers coach [autotag]Marcus Davis[/autotag] told him that he hopes to get the chance to coach him. However, the ball appears to be in Auburn’s court. Auburn is also going after fellow in-state wide receivers [autotag]Mario Craver[/autotag] and [autotag]Bryce Cain[/autotag], so it will all come down to their decisions.

“They are saying for the other receivers they are recruiting and for me, it’s going to be hard,” Simmons told Auburn Undercover. “They were like ‘just be patient and we’ll decide pretty soon.’”

Simmons is a talented athlete who led Benjamin Russell in both rushing and receiving yards last season and scored 19 total touchdowns. He is the state of Alabama’s No. 19 overall prospect for the 2024 cycle and is the nation’s No. 31 wide receiver.
