This former Clemson defender was among the former Tigers waived by NFL teams on Tuesday.
Tanner Muse was one of 21 players waived by the Seattle Seahawks.
Per NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, the Seahawks wanted Muse back on their practice squad.
Muse was signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad last September after being waived by the Las Vegas Raiders.
He was selected by the Raiders in the third round (100th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The former All-ACC safety finished his Clemson career from 2015-19 with 237 tackles (10.5 for loss), 15 passes broken up, 4.0 sacks, seven interceptions for 102 yards (including a 64-yard return for a touchdown), a forced fumble and a 63-yard fumble return for a touchdown over 59 career games (39 starts).

According to a report by Tom Pelissero at NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks are waiving linebacker Tanner Muse. Pelissero believes the team wants him back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
A former third-round draft pick, Seattle picked Muse up off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders just before the 2021 season began. Muse spent most of the year on the practice squad but was elevated for a few games. In the end he played 100 snaps, exclusively on special teams.
Muse makes it eight cuts that we know about. The Seahawks have to make 19 more before 1:00 p.m. PT.

Madden 23 player rankings are here, which means over 30 former Tigers get to see how EA Sports rates their talent.
Since its first game in 1988, Madden has been one of the most famous and long-lasting video game franchises, allowing fans to play as NFL teams and players virtually.
Over the last few years, Madden overalls have become a topic of debate, as EA Sports rates certain players and teams much higher or lower than fans expected.
Set to release on Aug. 19, Madden 23 will feature over 30 former Clemson players that are now in the NFL, many of which received overall ratings that fans may consider to be inaccurate.
A handful of Tigers have not had their ratings released yet, such as offensive linemen Jackson Carman and Tremayne Anchrum.
Outside of those selected few, here are the Madden 23 ratings for each Tiger in the NFL, in order of overall.
If a redraft was possible, PFF has A.J. Terrell and Tee Higgins falling inside the top 10 after the former Tigers had breakout sophomore campaigns.
Looking back at the 2020 NFL Draft with the benefit of hindsight, some teams should regret passing on a pair of Tigers.
Although linebacker Isaiah Simmons was the first Clemson player to hear his name called in 2020, arguably the most productive Tigers from that draft class are cornerback A.J. Terrell and wide receiver Tee Higgins, who were drafted at No. 16 and No. 33, respectively.
In his second year in the league last season, Higgins was an integral part of the Cincinnati Bengals’ postseason run, leading his team in receiving yards and touchdowns against the Rams in the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Terrell was named a Second-Team All-Pro as the unquestioned leader of the Atlanta Falcons’ secondary.
With Terrell and Higgins entering their third season in the league, here’s where Pro Football Focus’ Ben Linsey thinks the two dynamic playmakers would end up in a redraft, knowing what we know now.

As of yet, the Seahawks have not been reported to be signing any incoming free agents from other teams. They have re-signed several of their own pending unrestricted free agents, though – including free safety Quandre Diggs, defensive tackle Al Woods and tight end Will Dissly.
So far, the only Seattle player who’s joining another squad is their utility backup offensive lineman Jamarco Jones, who intends to sign with the Tennessee Titans on a two-year deal.

The Clemson Insider recently caught up with a four-star offensive line prospect in the 2023 class with a couple of ties to the Clemson football program.
The Tigers have been showing interest in Sullivan Absher, a 6-foot-7, 300-pound junior from South Point High School in Belmont, N.C.
South Point is the alma mater of former Clemson and All-ACC safety Tanner Muse, whose family has been friends with Absher’s family for a while.
It’s also the alma mater of Kyle Richardson, who was recently promoted to tight ends coach for the Tigers following Tony Elliott’s departure to Virginia.
Absher and Richardson continue to stay in contact and strengthen their relationship with one another.
“Just the usual, weekly check-ins and texts with Coach Richardson,” Absher said.
“It’s been great!” Absher added of the bond they’ve built. “Me and him are both from Belmont, so he’s a real relatable guy.”
Absher’s list of more than a dozen scholarship offers includes Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, among others.
Absher mentioned NC State, UNC, Notre Dame, Stanford and Clemson as the schools he feels he has built the best relationships with at this point in his recruiting process. But right now, his recruitment remains relatively wide open.
“Honestly everyone is about the same right now,” he said when asked if any of his suitors are showing him the most love. “I’ll get a better feel after the spring once I’ve visited a few more schools.”
“I’ve started narrowing it down slightly in my head,” he added when asked about top schools, “but still completely open to more schools.”
Absher already has a few visits lined up for this month and a few other schools in mind that he is looking to get to, including Clemson.
“Right now, I’ve only got three visits planned for January – Notre Dame, UNC and NC State,” he said. “I’m hoping to get back down to Clemson as soon as the invitation’s there. Also hope to get up to Penn State and maybe Stanford.”
Absher visited Clemson twice during the season, first for the Boston College game in October and then for the Wake Forest game in November.
He has told TCI in the past that he believes he would “fit right in” at Clemson and the Tigers “would definitely be near the top” of his list if they offer in the future.
“The culture of Clemson football is what I like the most about the Tigers,” he said. “The resiliency, the work ethic, the team-first mindset – all of these things remind me of my school right now, so that’s a pretty big priority for (schools) to have.”
Absher is ranked by Rivals as the No. 22 offensive tackle and No. 248 overall prospect in the 2023 class.

Here are six players who haven’t gotten much playing time in 2021 who deserve more of a look down the stretch.
The Seattle Seahawks are not going to make the playoffs this year. While this is a prideful group that will continue competing over the last three games of the season, it’s time to start thinking about the future. Part of that means evaluating the young talent already on the roster.
