The Seahawks may have just lost their defensive centerpiece for the rest of the season.

Inside linebacker Jordyn Brooks appears to have seriously hurt his leg while making a tackle against the Jets. After being tended to on the sidelines by the medical staff, he was spotted being carted off the field to the locker room.

Brooks was very quickly ruled out for the rest of the game with a knee injury.

Cody Barton has taken over as the new defensive signal-caller and Tanner Muse has taken Brooks’ place in the lineup.

Seattle leads the Jets 17-6 just before halftime.

Former Clemson safety elevated to active 53-man roster

A former Tiger has another opportunity in the NFL.

Former Clemson safety Tanner Muse has another opportunity to shine in the NFL.

Muse has been elevated to the Seattle Seahawks’ active 53-man roster, Seattle announced on Wednesday.

Now lining up at linebacker, the 6-foot-2, 227-pounder made two tackles on special teams in Seattle’s win over Denver on Monday after being elevated from the practice squad for that game.

In his four seasons at Clemson, Muse was credited with 237 career tackles (10.5 for loss), 15 passes broken up, 4.0 sacks and seven interceptions.

He was originally drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders but was let go before last year’s season began. He later signed with Seattle’s practice squad that year.

Seahawks add LB Tanner Muse to active roster, sign experienced LB to practice squad

Yesterday, the team announced the solution.

Heading into the 2022 season, the Seahawks roster was conspicuously thin at linebacker. After starters Jordyn Brooks and Cody Barton the only player listed on the depth chart was Nick Bellore, a fullback and special teams guy who hasn’t played a defensive snap since the 2017 season. Needless to say, Seattle had to address that at some point.

Yesterday, the team announced the solution: backup linebacker Tanner Muse has been signed to the active roster from the practice squad. Muse had been elevated for Week 1’s win over the Broncos. He made a couple of key special teams stops and was apparently good enough to earn a spot on the active 53-man roster. Muse was a former third-round pick by the Raiders in 2020 who appeared in six games for Seattle last year, all on special teams.

With Muse moving up to the active roster, the Seahawks had a hole to fill on the practice squad. That spot will go to linebacker Christian Jones. He played his college ball at Florida State then went undrafted. He first signed with the Bears in 2014, then spent a few seasons with the Lions before returning to Chicago last year. Jones offers plenty of experience, having appeared in 125 total games and making 74 starts.

Seahawks 2022 roster cuts: LB Tanner Muse is out for now

Pelissero believes the team wants him back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

According to a report by Tom Pelissero at NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks are waiving linebacker Tanner Muse. Pelissero believes the team wants him back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

A former third-round draft pick, Seattle picked Muse up off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders just before the 2021 season began. Muse spent most of the year on the practice squad but was elevated for a few games. In the end he played 100 snaps, exclusively on special teams.

Muse makes it eight cuts that we know about. The Seahawks have to make 19 more before 1:00 p.m. PT.

Madden 23 ratings for every former Clemson player in the NFL

Madden 23 player rankings are here, which means over 30 former Tigers get to see how EA Sports rates their talent.

Since its first game in 1988, Madden has been one of the most famous and long-lasting video game franchises, allowing fans to play as NFL teams and players virtually.

Over the last few years, Madden overalls have become a topic of debate, as EA Sports rates certain players and teams much higher or lower than fans expected.

Set to release on Aug. 19, Madden 23 will feature over 30 former Clemson players that are now in the NFL, many of which received overall ratings that fans may consider to be inaccurate.

A handful of Tigers have not had their ratings released yet, such as offensive linemen Jackson Carman and Tremayne Anchrum.

Outside of those selected few, here are the Madden 23 ratings for each Tiger in the NFL, in order of overall.

Where do A.J. Terrell and Tee Higgins land in PFF’s 2020 NFL redraft?

If a redraft was possible, PFF has A.J. Terrell and Tee Higgins falling inside the top 10 after the former Tigers had breakout sophomore campaigns.

Looking back at the 2020 NFL Draft with the benefit of hindsight, some teams should regret passing on a pair of Tigers.

Although linebacker Isaiah Simmons was the first Clemson player to hear his name called in 2020, arguably the most productive Tigers from that draft class are cornerback A.J. Terrell and wide receiver Tee Higgins, who were drafted at No. 16 and No. 33, respectively.

In his second year in the league last season, Higgins was an integral part of the Cincinnati Bengals’ postseason run, leading his team in receiving yards and touchdowns against the Rams in the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Terrell was named a Second-Team All-Pro as the unquestioned leader of the Atlanta Falcons’ secondary.

With Terrell and Higgins entering their third season in the league, here’s where Pro Football Focus’ Ben Linsey thinks the two dynamic playmakers would end up in a redraft, knowing what we know now.

Seahawks tender several exclusive rights free agents

According to a report by Brady Henderson at ESPN, the Seattle Seahawks have tendered several players who are exclusive rights free agents.

According to a report by Brady Henderson at ESPN, the Seattle Seahawks have tendered several players who are exclusive rights free agents. The list includes backup strong safety Ryan Neal, core special teamers/linebackers Tanner Muse and Jon Rhattigan, cornerback Nigel Warrior and offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley.

Additionally, Bob Condotta at the Seattle Times notes that wide receiver Penny Hart and defensive tackle Bryan Mone are also listed as having been tendered at Over the Cap.

As of yet, the Seahawks have not been reported to be signing any incoming free agents from other teams. They have re-signed several of their own pending unrestricted free agents, though – including free safety Quandre Diggs, defensive tackle Al Woods and tight end Will Dissly.

So far, the only Seattle player who’s joining another squad is their utility backup offensive lineman Jamarco Jones, who intends to sign with the Tennessee Titans on a two-year deal.
