Road to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas begins now

Super Bowl LVII is done. Next stop: Vegas, baby!

Super Bowl LVII is behind us. The decorations are being taken down in Phoenix and everyone is headed home for the offseason.

The Chiefs are the reigning champions until someone dethrones them. And the next chance to dethrone them will take place in Las Vegas a year from now.

All sights are now set on Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII.

Allegiant Stadium and SoFi are the NFL’s two newest stadiums. SoFi hosted Super Bowl LVI last year. Next year it’s Allegiant’s turn.

Sin City has hosted the NFL Draft and the Pro Bowl over the past year, so the Super Bowl is the natural next step. The Super Bowl is a weeklong media blitz the likes of which you just don’t see for any other American sporting event. It’s where everyone in sports will want to be this time next year, not to mentioned every one of the 53 players on all 32 NFL teams.

What are the Colts’ odds to win Super Bowl LVIII?

The Colts open the offseason with the third-worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

The 2022 season officially came to an end Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts, along with the rest of the NFL are working with a clean slate as they prepare for the 2023 campaign. Coming off a 4-12-1 season and with several questions facing the roster, the Colts don’t find themselves as a favorable team in the eyes of Vegas.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Colts will open the offseason with the third-worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII at +9000. Only the Arizona Cardinals (+10000) and Houston Texans (+10000) have worse odds.

On top of that, the Colts have the second worst odds to win the AFC Championship at +5000, which comes in just higher than the Texans at +8000.

At this point in the offseason, the Super Bowl odds are moot. So many changes are set to come across the league that some teams won’t look recognizable by the time September rolls around.

But it does give us a slight idea of how Vegas views the Colts going into the eventful months of the offseason.

With Shane Steichen expected to be the next head coach, plenty of moves will be on the way for a Colts team that is desperate to put the 2022 season behind them.

How bad are the Patriots’ Super Bowl LVIII odds?

What are the Patriots’ Super Bowl LVIII odds?

The New England Patriots were a mess of their own doing in the 2022 season, and the odds are out on the chances of them turning it all around and winning Super Bowl LVIII next year.

So, what are the chances the Patriots hoist their franchise’s seventh Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2023 season?

Well, not good.

The Patriots are listed at +5000 odds to win the next Super Bowl, according to BetMGM. To be fair, they are currently playing in one of the best divisions in football, and they’d have to get through a conference packed with juggernaut opponents like the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs.

However, the good news is the Patriots should be a much better team with Bill O’Brien being named as the new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The team also has the cap space to load up in free agency or maybe even pull off a blockbuster trade for a game-changing receiver they so desperately need.

It isn’t a stretch to consider the Patriots a legitimate dark horse team in 2023, given their emerging young talent and exceptional defense. Hope isn’t completely lost on them—not yet, anyways.

Houston Texans tied with Arizona Cardinals for worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII

The Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals both have the worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII at the end of the 2023 NFL season.

Imagine if the Houston Texans won the Super Bowl.

If such a fantasy became a reality, it would also make whoever wagered on the Texans to do so filthy rich.

According to Tipico, the Texans are tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the worst odds to Super Bowl LVIII at +15000. Even the Indianapolis Colts — who have no coach and equal ambiguity at quarterback — have better odds than the Texans at +10000.

Across the rest of the AFC South, the Tennessee Titans are +7000. The Jacksonville Jaguars have the best and reasonable odds at +2900. For the Jaguars to even qualify for the Big Game would be a milestone in their franchise’s history as the Jaguars have never won the AFC Championship Game.

The five teams atop the list are no surprise. The Kansas City Chiefs are given +520 to repeat. The Buffalo Bills have +700 to win their franchise’s first Super Bowl in what would be their fifth try. The San Francisco 49ers, who have decisions to make at quarterback this season, have +750 odds. The Philadelphia Eagles are +800 while the Cincinnati Bengals are +900.

Winning the Super Bowl is a directive that DeMeco Ryans set out in his opening press conference on Feb. 2.

“We want to develop a great team here that we can deliver wins to the city of Houston,” Ryans said. “We want to deliver a championship here to the city of Houston, and that’s what it will be about.”

How the Texans go about obtaining that championship will be fascinating to watch, and Houston sports fans would gladly go along that journey rather than wait for the Texans to be some intermezzo act between the end of the Houston Astros’ season and the date pitchers and catchers report in Palm Beach.

Super Bowl LVIII returns to the desert in a sense as Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, will settle the showdown between the 2023 AFC and NFC champions.

Very early look at Chargers’ odds for Super Bowl LVIII

Taking a look at what Vegas makes out of the Chargers making it to the Super Bowl next year.

It’s Super Bowl week…but not for the Chargers.

Instead, it’s that time when fans reminisce on what could be if their favorite team were in the Super Bowl and begin looking towards next year to get an early idea of what sportsbooks make out of their squad making it.

For the Bolts, they are the seventh overall favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII and fourth among AFC teams at +2200, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

The teams that have better odds than Los Angeles are the Chiefs (+550), Bills (+650), 49ers (+700), Eagles (+800), Bengals (+900) and Cowboys (+1400).

The Chargers are coming off a decent season that saw them finish with a 10-7 record in the regular season and make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2018 despite dealing with injuries to key players throughout the season.

Los Angeles is off to a great start with their remodeling of the team with the hiring of Kellen Moore to be the offensive coordinator. Now, how they reconstruct their roster will be polarizing.

As it stands, the Chargers are in one of the worst salary cap situations in the league, and they will have to make some moves to free up some money to extend Justin Herbert, sign free agents and their rookie draft class.

If Tom Telesco is somehow able to hit a home run this offseason, Los Angeles’ odds could take a dip.

Pro Bowler Justin Hardee hopes to return to Vegas in a year for a different Bowl

Justin Hardee has big goals for a potential return trip to Las Vegas next season.

Pro Bowl special teams player Justin Hardee certainly has a nice ring to it. Hardee is enjoying his first trip to the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas along with his Jets teammates Sauce Gardner, Quinnen Williams and C.J. Mosley.

While Hardee is soaking in every second of the Pro Bowl Games this week, he has a higher goal for the team for next season, which just so happens to also involve being in Las Vegas.

With Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs just days away, the other 30 teams are beginning their road to Super Bowl LVIII. The location for that game? Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Hardee has his sights set on returning to Sin City next February.

“Hopefully this time next year, we’ll be getting ready back here, actually,” Hardee told SNY’s Jeane Coakley while discussing the team and the rookie class and upcoming goals.

The Jets are entering a huge offseason where they are expected to go after a veteran quarterback such as Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr and are entering what could be a make-or-break season for the pairing of head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas. Anything short of a playoff appearance next season could spell the end of the current regime.

The Jets have +2500 odds to win the Super Bowl next season, though a huge splash at the quarterback position and a strong offseason should boost those numbers. The road to the Super Bowl is going to be extremely tough for any AFC team going forward with all the strong quarterback play already intact. Just look at the AFC Divisional Playoffs. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence were the four quarterbacks.

The Jets won’t be viewed as Super Bowl favorites anytime soon. But an infusion of talent should make them at least playoff contenders and then anything can happen from there.

Hardee’s strong play should give him a very good chance to be visiting Las Vegas in February 2024 in what would be his second trip to Vegas of the season as the Jets will play on the road against the Raiders during the 2023 regular season. It’s just a matter of whether that will be for the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LVIII will be played in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024

A super time will be had by all when Super Bowl LVIII takes place in Las Vegas

The NFL made it official on Wednesday. Super Bowl LVIII will be played in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium with the Raiders as the host team.

The game is scheduled for Feb. 11, 2024. The venue switched from New Orleans to Sin City because of the NFL’s decision to go to a 17-game schedule.

That pushed the Super Bowl’s date back and right smack into the middle of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The city can handle a lot of partying but those two events would have been overwhelming at the same time.

Raiders owner Mark Davis is overjoyed:

The Raiders Are Thrilled The National Football League Has Selected Las Vegas To Host Super Bowl (58) LVIII In February 2024..

Hosting The 2022 Pro Bowl..The 2022 NFL Draft.. And Now The 2024 Super Bowl Are Just Some Of The Ancillary Benefits Resulting From The Public-Private Partnership We Created With The State Of Nevada To Bring The Raiders To Las Vegas And Build Allegiant Stadium.

It’s Only The Beginning.. But For Now…

Las Vegas … The Super Bowl Is Coming To The Sports And Entertainment Capital Of The World!

Super Bowl LVIII site expected to be Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium

Super Bowl LVIII is expected to take place at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium

The Super Bowl to be played in the year 2024 — call it LVIII or 58 — is expected to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported the news on Monday, saying an official announcement will come from the NFL on Wednesday.

The game was originally scheduled for the New Orleans Superdome.

However, the addition of a 17th regular-season game to the NFL schedule moved the Super Bowl from Feb. 4 to Feb. 11, which created a conflict with Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Per the Review-Journal:

Las Vegas put together an ambitious and multi-leveled plan to convince NFL owners of its viability to accommodate the biggest yearly sporting event in North America. The city’s reputation as one of the entertainment capitals of the world coupled with the necessary hotel, convention center and activation space were convincing arguments in luring the event to Southern Nevada.

Las Vegas has quickly emerged as one of the NFL’s go-to markets for big events. In addition to Super Bowl LVIII, Las Vegas is also scheduled to host the Pro Bowl on Feb. 6 and the NFL draft April 28-30.

The league and Las Vegas Raiders declined to comment but a commemoration of the official announcement is expected to take place using the lights of the Las Vegas Strip at dusk on Wednesday.

NFL mulls moving Super Bowl in 2024 out of New Orleans

The 2024 Super Bowl might be moved from New Orleans due to a schedule conflict with Mardi Gras.

A bigger NFL season could create an audible for the league when it comes to Super Bowl LVIII in New Orleans in 2024.

“As part of the bid process in 2018, we contemplated the possibility of a 17-game schedule as part of a new CBA,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. “We are exploring options with the Saints and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation for the city to remain the host of the Super Bowl in 2024 or in a future year that would be suitable for both New Orleans and the NFL.”

The extra week — the 17-game season recently approved in the new CBA — would push the championship game into the midst of Mardi Gras. Originally, it would have been Feb 4. Now, with the added game, the Super Bowl is scheduled for Feb. 11 in 2024. Mardi Gras would land two days later, Feb. 13.

New Orleans already is overflowing with crowds during that period, so the Super Bowl would be a difficult proposition if it were to be held at the same time of year.

“The New Orleans Host Committee, led by the New Orleans Saints and Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, has remained in close communication with league officials about the change to a 17-game regular season, as it relates to the city hosting Super Bowl LVIII in 2024,” Saints vice president of communications Greg Bensel said in a statement.

“During the bid process in 2018, it was contemplated and discussed of the possibility of an extended schedule based on a new CBA. The Bid Committee, the New Orleans Saints and NFL worked together to build in contingencies if a potential conflict with Mardi Gras should affect the Super Bowl date.

Mutually agreed-upon terms during the bid process granted assurances that the NFL and Host Committee would explore all options for still hosting the game in 2024, or, agreeing to host the Super Bowl in a future year when the citywide calendar permits.”

The 17-game schedule, per terms of the new CBA, will be installed sometime between 2021-23. The NFL has yet to award the 2025 Super Bowl. The other upcoming host cities are Tampa, Fla. (2020 season), Inglewood, Calif. (2021) and Glendale, Ariz (2022).
