The food prices at Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas are unsurprisingly expensive

Can I interest any of you in a $17 “premium” beer?

If you’ve acquired a ticket to Super Bowl 58 — which, on the low end, were going for more than $6,500 a head on the secondary market — odds are that money is not a major concern of yours.

That’s a good thing, because if you’re going to be looking for refreshment during the game, the concession stand prices at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas are about as steep as you would expect.

While some of the food items are fairly reasonably priced — $11.99 for two tacos isn’t too bad — it’s a bit of a different story when it comes to beverages.

If you’re interested in a Bud Light, which is considered a “premium” beer, it’s going to cost you $16.99. If you’re looking for something a bit fancier, such as a Michelob Ultra or a Bud Light Seltzer, it’ll cost you a few more dollars.

Somehow, even a deluxe cocktail is cheaper!

Ultimately, it’s fairly typical pricing for stadium fare, and it’s not surprising to see a slight surge during the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. The prices generally go in line with those of past Super Bowls

But let’s be honest: $14.99 for a souvenir bucket of popcorn is borderline criminal.

WATCH: Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Ice Spice enter Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII

Taylor Swift entered Allegiant Stadium with Ice Spice and Blake Lively ahead of the #Chiefs’ matchup against the #49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

Taylor Swift made her entrance to Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday afternoon as she prepared to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers for a chance to defend their championship.

Swift, who has been involved with Kelce in a high-profile celebrity relationship, performed to a crowd in Tokyo, Japan yesterday, and made the trip back from Asia to watch her boyfriend perform on the NFL’s biggest stage.

She was flanked by musician Ice Spice and actress Blake Lively as she made her way through the stadium, a sign that her high-profile guests are likely to appear in group shots on the television broadcast.

While it is unclear exactly where Swift and her companions will be seated for the star-studded Super Bowl, their presence is sure to captivate the national audience that will tune in to see which team takes home the Lombardi Trophy.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan should use 21 personnel vs Chiefs

San Francisco 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan can impact the game at the line of scrimmage by using 21 personnel on offense in Super Bowl LVIII.

San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan can impact the game at the line of scrimmage by using 21 personnel on offense in Super Bowl LVIII.

In 21 personnel, the 49ers can deploy either fullback Kyle Juszczyk, running back Christian McCaffrey, or wide receiver Deebo Samuel in the backfield interchangeably. Juszczyk, McCaffrey, and Samuel are all capable pass catchers out of the backfield. Also, Juszczyk is a great run-blocker that should be used as a lead for both Samuel and McCaffrey in the ground game.

The use of 21 personnel will force Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo out of nickel and dime formations.  While the Chiefs have a terrific secondary, they are allowing 4.5 yards per carry this season on the ground. Shanahan should take advantage.

Shanahan better be prepared for Spagnuolo’s blitz scheme that forced four sacks in the AFC Championship. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy won’t need to be perfect if Shanahan balances the offensive attack. Nevertheless, we have seen Shanahan get pass-happy in the past when the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI.

LOOK: Chiefs enter Super Bowl LVIII in style

Check out the #Chiefs’ fashionable entrance to Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVIII matchup against the San Francisco #49ers at Allegiant Stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs are known for their signature swagger on the gridiron and will seek to defend their Super Bowl championship when they face the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While pre-game fashion won’t have any bearing on either team’s performance in Super Bowl LVIII, the Chiefs stars showed up for the big game wearing their Sunday best, ready to show off their favorite styles as they made their way to the locker room in Allegiant Stadium.

Fashion has become a key part of players’ pre-game rituals, and on the biggest stage, Kansas City’s players weren’t shy in expressing themselves.

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and other players were seen strutting their stuff in pictures and videos posted to social media. The stakes have never been higher for the Chiefs, and with a Super Bowl on the line, their confidence looked to be at an all-time high.

Check out their best styles below:

Michael Vick spoke to the Chiefs during their Friday practice ahead of Super Bowl LVIII

The countdown to kickoff is underway for the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers to this Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII matchup. The week of festivities and media scrums in Las Vegas can finally take a backseat to the biggest game of the year at Allegiant Stadium.

The Chiefs completed their last scheduled practice on Friday and received a visit from a legendary quarterback. Former four-time Pro Bowler Michael Vick was in attendance and reportedly spoke to the team as they went through the final preparations for this Sunday. He also appeared on Radio Row during the week to talk with WGN-TV’s Jarrett Payton and Chris Hagan about the evolution of dual quarterbacks.

“Passing that torch, man, and watching these guys, we are all different. We’re not all the same; some of us look like one another in certain aspects, but I think it is just the way the game is headed. These guys continue to play the way they’ve been playing and continue to represent us as dual threats.” said Vick, “I think it’d take them far because I just feel like now in the National Football League, got to be able to run the football as a quarterback. So it’s great to see these guys taking it further.”

Vick spent time with head coach Andy Reid as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009-2013. He earned the 2010 NFL Comeback Player of the Year award and credited Reid for helping turn his life around. He faithfully supports his former coach and Patrick Mahomes in Sunday’s game.

“Patrick (Mahomes) is one guy who he never wavers, like when you got Andy Reid, and know what that relationship is like, And then you got a talent like Patrick Mahomes, the guy who got all the talent in the world and super smart and understand what football is supposed to be and look like. It’s evident. You can beat anybody. I’m going Chiefs,” said Vick, “I’m never gonna bet against Andy Reid.”

The Las Vegas showdown between two quarterback styles should call for a tremendous performance.

Super Bowl 2024: 12 photos of Allegiant Stadium in all its Death Star glory over the years

This is the Death Star’s moment to shine.

For the first time ever, the Super Bowl is in Las Vegas with the 2024 game at Allegiant Stadium.

It’s a first for the state of Nevada overall as well, and given the host city, we expect the 2024 Super Bowl to be unforgettable — even if Raiders fans likely feel differently about the 2023 season.

The newly constructed venue opened in 2020 and cost just shy of $2 billion to construct, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. And last year, the Raiders announced plans to add more suites to the stadium ahead of Super Bowl 58.

So for the 2024 Super Bowl, here’s a look at 12 photos of the Death Star that is Allegiant Stadium throughout its short existence.

How the NFL is trying to avoid playing surface issues with the 2024 Super Bowl field at Allegiant Stadium

The NFL hopes to avoid another field debacle.

Last year, the portable playing surface at the Arizona Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium had the NFL confident about providing the best field in Super Bowl history. When it came time for the actual game, though, it was clear something went wrong with the field’s preparation, as players were slipping all over the place.

Well, the NFL will get another chance to get the field right this year with a similar tray system at the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The field is treated and prepared outside the stadium and slid into the venue on a massive tray. The Cardinals were the first team to utilize that technology. Since then, the Raiders, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid have utilized similar systems.

The Super Bowl field has been growing outside the stadium in the build-up to the game, and it will be an entirely different surface than the rough-looking field the Raiders played on towards the end of the season.

Again, the NFL is confident that it will avoid a field mishap like the one in the 2023 Super Bowl.

More from NFL Executive Vice President Peter O’Reillyia ProFootballTalk:

“We have brought in, as we do each year, a brand new natural grass surface that is currently installed in the field tray outside Allegiant Stadium,” he said. “That has been in for a little bit now and is working through all of our standard testing procedures that’ll take place over the time from installation all the way up through the day before, that Saturday right before the game. Those adjustments and a core maintenance program are in place so we’ll have an optimal field on game day. That natural grass surface, brand new, is installed right now, and a great team maintaining it as we head up to the Super Bowl.”

The league added that its field maintenance specialists have been monitoring the field for weeks in anticipation of the game. Let’s hope the NFL learned from last year’s debacle and gets the field right for this Super Bowl.

Why Allegiant Stadium shares a nickname with the Death Star from Star Wars, explained

Some people think it looks more like a giant Roomba vacuum cleaner, though.

Allegiant Stadium, the host of the 2024 Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, is a very beautiful place.

Thanks to Raiders owner Mark Davis, the stadium also happens to have a nickname inspired by the Star Wars film series. That is because the first time Davis welcomed the players to the stadium back in 2020, he referred to it as the Death Star. Via ESPN, he said:

“Welcome to the Death Star, where our opponents’ dreams come to die.”

ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez said that he told Davis that the Death Star was blown up multiple times throughout the Star Wars series. But that didn’t matter at all to Davis, who still thinks the $1.9 billion stadium bared a resemblance to the Death Star due to its sleek black and grey facade.

Despite the unfortunate fate of the Death Star in the Star Wars movies, this nickname is an identity that the team has embraced. During NFL games as recently as this season, the video board at the stadium has read “Welcome to the Death Star” with players holding light sabers.

Lucasfilms

Jon Gruden, who was the head coach of the Raiders (for the second time) from 2018 until 2021, said that it was a “cool name” for the stadium and that he did not “give a damn” about Star Wars.

Johnathan Abram, a former safety for the Raiders, also described the stadium as the Death Star when he discussed it with NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport.

Even if you think this place looks more like a giant Roomba vacuum, the team has landed on The Death Star as its chosen nickname.

Raiders owner Mark Davis on Chiefs occupying Allegiant Stadium: ‘They earned it’

#Raiders owner Mark Davis told a reporter that the #Chiefs ‘earned’ the right to occupy Allegiant Stadium during Super Bowl LVIII.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ bitter rivalry with the Las Vegas Raiders took a strange turn this week as the defending Super Bowl champions prepared to defend their title against the San Francisco 49ers in Sin City.

As the home team for Super Bowl LVIII, the Chiefs took over Raiders facilities at Allegiant Stadium in a move that left many of Las Vegas’ fans displeased.

But Raiders owner Mark Davis ceded control of his team’s space with surprising grace during Super Bowl opening night on Monday. When a reporter asked Davis if it was awkward to hand the keys to Allegiant Stadium over to Kansas City, his response was surprisingly respectful.

“As I tell everyone, the Chiefs and the 49ers are my two favorite teams, other than the Raiders,” Davis told Ladd. “Hey, listen, they earned it, and that’s why they’re here.”

While tensions between the AFC West foes may have cooled temporarily, the Raiders and fans in Las Vegas will be relieved when Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ stars vacate the premises after Super Bowl LVIII.

Raiders locker room repainted for Chiefs ahead of Super Bowl LVIII

The #Raiders’ locker room got a fresh coat of paint ahead of the #Chiefs’ matchup against the #49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers at the home of their bitter divisional rival Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium.

While Las Vegas has yet to see a playoff game at their billion-plus dollar dome, Kansas City’s players are making themselves at home in the Raiders’ locker room, which was re-painted ahead of the February 11 championship matchup.

Adorned with an arrowhead and Lombardi Trophy iconography, the new look in Las Vegas’ locker room was called “the ultimate indignity” by one account in Sin City on Twitter.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Chiefs are likely to feel at home when they face San Francisco at Allegiant Stadium. Kansas City has never lost a game in the impressive arena and can push their record at the venue to 5-0 with a win over the 49ers.

Expect the Chiefs to do everything they can to keep their perfect record intact during Super Bowl LVIII.
