Kansas City Chiefs’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI

Analyzing Kansas City Chiefs’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI

The Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) punched their ticket into the NFL playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the AFC. They join 13 other NFL teams focused on Super Bowl LVI, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

The Chiefs started the season unexpectedly poor. They beat the Browns in Week 1, but they then proceeded to lose four of their next six games to give them a 3-4 record through Week 7. But it didn’t take long for them to turn things around.

They then ripped off eight straight wins, beating the likes of the Packers, Raiders, Cowboys, Chargers and Steelers in that stretch. The Chiefs finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, winning the AFC West for the sixth straight year.

Quite predictably, QB Patrick Mahomes had another great year, though not on the level of some of his recent seasons. He threw for 4,839 yards and 37 touchdowns, but his 13 interceptions were a career high. His 98.5 passer rating was also a career worst as a full-time starter, though he finished the season with 12 touchdowns and one interception in his last five games.

Las Vegas Raiders odds to win Super Bowl LVI

Analyzing the Las Vegas Raiders’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI.

The Las Vegas Raiders (10-7) punched their ticket into the NFL playoffs as the 5-seed in the AFC Conference. They join 13 other NFL teams focused on Super Bowl LVI, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

Las Vegas clinched a playoff berth in the NFL’s final game of the regular season by beating the Los Angeles Chargers, 35-32, in overtime in what was an instant classic.

The Raiders making the playoffs is slightly miraculous considering the turmoil the franchise has gone through this season.

Former head coach Jon Gruden resigned mid-season after his scandalous emails to Washington Football Team front office executives while working for ESPN were leaked.

Also, Las Vegas released former WR Henry Ruggs after he was involved in a fatal car crash while allegedly driving under the influence. The Raiders also dealt with off-field incidents from a couple of defensive players.

Las Vegas’ season looked lost when it dropped four of five games from Weeks 9-14. But, the Raiders advanced to the playoffs after winning their final four games of the season.

This will be Raiders QB Derek Carr‘s playoff debut in what was perhaps the best year of his career. Carr had the fifth-highest completion rate (68.4%), threw for the fifth-most passing yards (4,804) and had a 23 TD/14 INT ratio this season.

Las Vegas made the playoffs in 2016 with a 12-4 record and Carr started in 15 of those games. But, Carr missed the Raiders’ regular-season finale and the playoffs due to an injury.

Buffalo Bills odds to win Super Bowl LVI

Analyzing the Buffalo Bills’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI.

The Buffalo Bills (11-6) punched their ticket into the NFL playoffs as the 3-seed in the AFC Conference. They join 13 other NFL teams focused on Super Bowl LVI, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

The Bills rallied back from a bumpy stretch in the middle of the season to win their final four games of the regular season. Buffalo clinched its postseason berth by winning the AFC East.

However, Buffalo’s only impressive victory in those four games came against longtime AFC East bully, the New England Patriots, in a contest that more or less decided the division.

Bills QB Josh Allen had a sensational 2021 regular season. Allen passed for 4,404 yards with a 36 TD/15 INT ratio and was second on the team in both rushing yards (763) and rushing TDs (6).

This is Buffalo’s fourth playoff appearance in the fifth year of Bills head coach Sean McDermott’s tenure. The Bills lost 38-24 in last year’s AFC title game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Buffalo has the same odds to win the Super Bowl as Tennessee Titans, and both are behind K.C.’s (+425) odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Tennessee Titans odds to win Super Bowl LVI

Analyzing the Tennessee Titans’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI

The Tennessee Titans (12-5) punched their ticket into the NFL playoffs as the 1-seed in the AFC Conference. They join 13 other NFL teams focused on Super Bowl LVI, which takes place Sunday, February 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

Tennessee wrapped up home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs in Week 18 by squeaking past the Houston Texans 28-25.

The Titans have the same record as the second-place Kansas City Chiefs but own the tiebreaker after Tennessee hammered K.C. 27-3 in Week 7.

Tennessee’s success has come despite losing several key contributors at various points in the season including reigning Offensive Player of the Year, RB Derrick Henry, after Week 8.

The Titans have been awesome in high-leverage situations this season: Tennessee ranks eighth in third-down conversion rate and fifth in red-zone scoring rate.

From Weeks 5-10, the Titans went on a six-game winning streak with victories over some of the NFL’s best teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and division-rival Indianapolis Colts.

Tennessee’s +750 odds to win Super Bowl 56 are tied for second with Buffalo and behind K.C., who’s priced at +425 to win the Big Game.

Where Chargers’ Super Bowl LVI odds stand after 2021 draft

The Los Angeles Chargers upgraded their roster this offseason. How did it impact their odds of winning Super Bowl LVI?

The Chargers selected nine players in the 2021 NFL draft, with the most notables being offensive tackle Rashawn Slater and cornerback Asante Samuel, Jr.

After Los Angeles stacked deck, how did that impact their odds of winning Super Bowl LVI?

At the moment, L.A. is tied for the eighth-best odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next February, along with the Cardinals, Dolphins, Patriots and Seahawks at +3000, per BetMGM.

That means if you bet $100 on the Chargers to win the Super Bowl, you would take home $3,000 if the team won it all.

Even after making upgrades on both sides of the ball to an already talented roster that includes star quarterback Justin Herbert, it’s hard to gauge how Brandon Staley will do as a first-time head coach.

Plus, Los Angeles has a proven history of seeing injuries occur to key players prior to and during the regular season.

If L.A. can win games under Staley and stay healthy throughout the duration of the year, those odds of them winning it all will increase.

Super early Super Bowl LVI odds are not high on the Jets

BetMGM released its preliminary odds for the winners of Super Bowl LVI on Monday and the Jets have the second-worst odds at The Big Game.

With Super Bowl LV barely in the rearview mirror, oddsmakers are already looking ahead to next season’s Super Bowl. Naturally, they aren’t too fond of the Jets’ chances of participating in Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Jets watched from afar as Tom Brady hoisted his seventh Lombardi Trophy in a 31-9 rout of the Chiefs on Sunday night. While New York believes it is headed in the right direction and Robert Saleh has outwardly said that the Jets will win championships, they are still a ways away from competing for a Super Bowl.

On Monday, BetMGM released its initial odds for Super Bowl LVI. The Jets are tied with the Texans, Lions and Bengals for the second-worst odds at +8000. Only the Jaguars have worse odds at +10000.

As for the rest of the AFC East, the Bills are tied for the third-best odds at +1200, while the Dolphins (+2500) and Patriots (+3000) make up the middle of the pack.

The Chiefs (+550) lead the league, with the Packers (+900) and Buccaneers (+1000) trailing behind them.

What are Chargers’ odds to win Super Bowl LVI?

The Chargers have the potential to make a run in 2021.

The 2020 NFL season has officially come to an end after the Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

With that being said it’s time to look forward to 2021. At the moment, the Chargers are tied with the Patriots and the Steelers with the ninth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI at +3000, per BetMGM.

It’s not all that surprising that Los Angeles ranks near the middle of the pack. Even though they still possess a talented roster which includes star quarterback Justin Herbert, it’s hard to gauge what Brandon Staley brings to the table as a first-time head coach.

Not only that, but L.A. also needs to address both the offensive and defensive line, cornerback and special teams corps to ensure they have enough ammo to go toe-to-toe with AFC West rival, the Kansas City Chiefs.

If the Bolts nail their offseason, those odds will likely increase heading into the 2021 regular season.

Ravens have 4th best Super Bowl LVI odds

Oddsmakers apparently still believe quite strongly in the Baltimore Ravens’ chances, giving them the fourth-best Super Bowl LVI odds.

There’s probably still confetti on the field at Raymond James Stadium after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LV. But now it’s time to shift gears and take a peek ahead at Super Bowl LVI’s odds.

According to BetMGM, the Baltimore Ravens have the fourth-best odds of winning Super Bowl LVI. Naturally, they finish below top teams like the Chiefs and Buccaneers, but for yet another offseason, oddsmakers apparently believe quite strongly in Baltimore’s chances.

Let’s take a look at the top-9 teams in BetMGM’s Super Bowl LVI odds:

Team Odds
Chiefs +600
Packers +900
Buccaneers +1000
Ravens +1200
Bills +1200
Rams +1200
49ers +1600
Saints +1800
Seahawks +2200

Now, it’s important to note that the offseason hasn’t really even gotten underway yet. There are still several weeks until the beginning of free agency or the 2021 NFL draft, and with the potential for some blockbuster trades to be pulled off, all 32 teams will likely look dramatically different come Week 1 of the regular season. But it’s also hard to not put the Ravens near the top of the pile.

Baltimore still has an MVP-winning quarterback in Lamar Jackson, the top rushing attack in the league, a stellar defense, and some of the best coaches in the game. As we saw this past season, that baseline alone is enough to make the Ravens serious contenders. If they can shore up the offensive line, maybe add some more weapons on offense, and not get hit hard by the injury bug, Baltimore will almost assuredly be in the mix.

With +1200 Super Bowl LVI odds, a $100 would have a total payout of $1300 if the Ravens were to hold the Lombardi Trophy at this time next season. It might not be Dogecoin or Gamestop stock, but that wouldn’t be a terrible return on investment if you’re willing to gamble.

Ravens have 3rd-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI

The Baltimore Ravens might not have finished where they wanted this season but at least one oddsmaker believes in their Super Bowl LVI odds

The Baltimore Ravens might not have gotten to Super Bowl LV this weekend, losing in the divisional round to the Buffalo Bills. But with one playoff win this postseason, Baltimore has shown at least some improvement in that regard. Could they be next in line for a championship? At least one oddsmaker is giving the Ravens good odds to win Super Bowl LVI.

BetMGM has Baltimore tied for third place in their Super Bowl LVI odds. The Ravens sit behind the Kansas City Chiefs (+600) and Green Bay Packers (+900) but tied with the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At +1200 odds, if you bet $100 on Baltimore and the Ravens won Super Bowl LVI, you’d see a payout of $1200 on top of your original bet.

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about Baltimore’s chances too. Not only do they have the 2019 NFL MVP at quarterback and a defense that was among the league’s best when healthy, but the rushing attack was once again tops in the NFL.

The big question haunting the Ravens this offseason is if they can add some more talent around quarterback Lamar Jackson to take the passing game to the next level. While Baltimore finished dead last in both passing attempts and passing yards, the Ravens’ offense was 17th in DVOA, showing they might not be as bad as fans believe. Still, finding more help at wide receiver and improving the offensive line needs to happen this offseason if Baltimore is going to have the best chance of improving and living up to the odds.
