Xavier Henderson was featured in CBS’s latest mock draft

Xavier Henderson was known as a fan favorite throughout his time in East Lansing. Henderson was known as a captain and the leader of the defense during his five years with the program.

Now, fans want to see Henderson get a chance at the next level. According to Chris Trapasso of CBS, fans will get that chance.

In CBS’s latest mock draft, Trapasso has Henderson going in the 7th round (247th selection) to the San Francisco 49ers.

5 Spartans who may hear their names called during the 2023 NFL Draft

It is officially NFL Draft week, with the festivities for the 2023 NFL Draft starting on Thursday evening. The draft is always a fun event for fans at both the professional and collegiate levels.

Spartan fans were able to have a fun draft in 2022, seeing Kenneth Walker get selected in the second round, while Jalen Nailor and Connor Heyward got selected in the sixth round and AJ Arcuri rounded it out with a 7th round selection.

The Spartans will look to have similar success in the 2023 draft.

Jayden Reed was in for a pre-draft visit with a potential NFL landing spot:

Jayden Reed has seen his draft stock increase and increase since the end of the football season. In a recent mock draft by NFL.com, Reed was selected in the third round.

Spartan fans will be cheering on Reed wherever he ends up, but many are hoping to see Reeds name called on day two. Reed may have that chance, as he was brought in for a visit by the San Francisco 49ers, who own three third round picks.

Jayden Reed is dealing with a serious eye condition at the NFL combine

Jayden Reed is looking to improve his draft stock this week at the NFL combine, but that opportunity became slightly more difficult. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported that Reed has been dealing with a serious eye injury, limiting his vision to just one eye.

Jayden Reed confirmed the report by posting a picture on Twitter, responding to the tweet, showing that his eye is currently swollen shut.

Check out the grades given for the Pittsburgh Steelers selection of Connor Heyward in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft

Connor Heyward was selected in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers, joining his brother Cameron as a member of the Steel City’s franchise. Heyward brings a unique skill set to the Steel City, being able to play in a fullback type of role or even line up on the line in a tight end role.

The pick was given pretty good reviews by many around the NFL and the draft community, but there are still a few that believe the Steelers selection was nothing special.
