Soccer icon Neymar ‘starstruck’ after meeting Warriors’ Steph Curry

Neymar Santos admitted that after meeting one of his favorite NBA players, Stephen Curry, the soccer star was left shaking and ‘starstruck.’

There have been many things in the sports world that Brazilian soccer star Neymar Santos Jr. hasn’t already accomplished at 27 years old. He’s won league titles across Europe, named captain of Brazil’s national team and is one of the highest-paid players for France’s famed soccer club, Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar has been in the global spotlight since he was 17 years old. However, when he linked up with a member of the Golden State Warriors, he was left “starstruck” and “shaking.”

In an interview with House of Highlights, Neymar spoke about Warriors’ two-time Most Valuable Player, Stephen Curry, as one of his favorite players in the NBA.

The Soccer star said meeting Curry was a unique moment for him because he was another star that left him “starstruck” and “shaking” after their introduction.

The Warriors’ All-Star guard took to Twitter to confirm the feeling was mutual.

The two sports stars have linked up in the past at each of their home arenas with Curry attending a game in Paris at Le Parc des Princes to watch Neymar.

Neymar has been in the building to watch Curry go to work in the past, where the two swapped jerseys after a Warriors’ game.

Similar to Neymar, the rest of the basketball world will have to wait to watch Curry perform as he’s still recovering from a broken hand injury he sustained back in late October.

Curry’s only played in four games this season and is progressing through his injury and scheduled to be evaluated in February. However, even on the bench, there’s no doubt how popular the Golden State guard really is.

NBA legend Kobe Bryant will step off …

NBA legend Kobe Bryant will step off the sidelines as a soccer fan this season, making his first foray into professional soccer in America. He’s helping tout a new partnership between MLS and BodyArmor — a sports drink company Bryant has invested in since 2014, acquiring a 10% stake that is now valued at $200 million. A long-time fan of the game, Bryant first started tracking the league when David Beckham joined the Galaxy in 2007.

Broncos might play Falcons in London in 2020

Broncos president/CEO Joe Ellis wants his team to play the Falcons in London during the 2020 NFL season.

If Denver Broncos president/CEO Joe Ellis has his way, the team will face the Atlanta Falcons at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England during the 2020 NFL season.

The Falcons are scheduled to have a “home” international game and Denver is scheduled to play an away game against Atlanta next season. Ellis, who has been campaigning for an international game for years, wants that game to be played in England.

“I haven’t heard anything from the league other than I’ve pestered and begged them,” Ellis said Monday. “I think it’d be really good for us to go there. I put in a personal request to [Falcons owner] Arthur Blank and he came up to me in the last league meeting and was supportive.”

The Broncos last played in London in 2010 against the San Francisco 49ers. Denver lost that game 24-16 but it was good exposure for the team.

“The league has to do what’s best for them in terms of their international strategy,” Ellis said, “but I think it would be good for the franchise, good for the organization . . . . I’m basically begging to get it because I think it’d be very good for us to play there.”

Last year, the NFL announced its international games for the 2019 season in late January. The league will likely announce its 2020 international games at a similar time this year, so Ellis should have an answer in the coming weeks.

Former U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper Hope Solo made a heartwarming announcement Tuesday.

Former U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper Hope Solo made a heartwarming announcement Tuesday. Solo and her husband are expecting twins, one boy, and one girl.

“My husband and I get to practice equality from the very beginning with one boy and one girl,” Solo said on beINSPORTSUSA. “Miniature soccer team on the way.”

The pregnancy announcement comes after the 38-year-old opened up to Elle magazine about her miscarriage in 2018. At the time of the miscarriage, Solo was running for president of the U.S. Soccer Federation and she “was hours from dying,” she said.

Following the miscarriage, Solo learned that she had been pregnant with twins then and one was ectopic. The abnormal location of one of the first twins led to Solo having one of her fallopian tubes removed. She began in vitro fertilization following the miscarriage.

The kings of Europe look to take a big step towards retaining their crown as Liverpool needs a result in the final round of group stage matches to clinch a spot in the Round of 16. It’s hard to fault Liverpool for not having its knockout round ticket punched already. Usually, three wins, a draw, and a loss would be enough, but Salzburg getting some unexpected results has made matters more difficult for the two group favorites. FC Salzburg even made Liverpool sweat at Anfield in the first meeting, pulling level 3-3 after an hour, before succumbing to the champions far superior talent.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is absolutely strolling in the Premier League with an eight-point advantage over second-place Leicester City. You can bet the team’s full focus will be on earning its spot in the next round.

The dynamic duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah has led Liverpool’s attack with five of the club’s 11 goals in the group stage so far. Interestingly, Salzburg actually has a better goal differential than the Reds through its five group matches.

A big part of that is the team’s 19-year-old striking phenom Erling Braut Håland banging in eight goals in the competition so far. The youngster has attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe thanks to his scoring exploits. If Salzburg has any chance of pulling off the massive upset, it’ll need the Norwegian to have the game of his life.

WATCH: Sports Illustrated honors Megan Rapinoe as Sportsperson of the Year

U.S. soccer star and social activist Megan Rapinoe has been named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year.

U.S. soccer star and social activist Megan Rapinoe has been named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year.

The enlarged text at the top of the magazine’s story, published Monday, sums it up quite well:

“Playing the world’s game, on the world’s stage, under attack by a world leader, she dominated. And in doing so without fear, Megan Rapinoe became a voice for so many across the world.”

Rapinoe led the U.S. women’s soccer team to a World Cup title in June, the squad’s second in a row and fourth total. She also took home some extra hardware for herself, claiming the Golden Boot (World Cup’s top scorer) and Golden Ball (World Cup’s top player).

That’s all while using her platform to fight U.S. Soccer for equal pay and speak out against racism, sexism, and homophobia.

Rapinoe’s arms-extended pose after scoring in the World Cup final against the Netherlands created a signature sports moment for the year — if not the signature sports moment — inspiring the below video released Monday to congratulate Rapinoe on the honor:
