The SNL Beavis and Butt-Head NewsNation skit was the most randomly funny sketch of the year

This might be the funniest but most random SNL sketch of 2024.

Beavis and Butt-Head … in a Saturday Night Live sketch … in 2024 … and they’re not actually the cartoon characters we all loved in the 1990s?

AND, on top of that … it was funny?

Yeah! As you’ll see below, this skit from Ryan Gosling’s episode on Saturday was surprisingly hilarious. In it, Heidi Gardner plays a host talking to an AI expert played by Kenan Thompson, and suddenly, there’s Gosling dressed and looking like Beavis in the background. What’s more, then Mikey Day shows up looking like Butt-Head, but they claim they’re not the real-life versions of the cartoon characters.

Just watch and laugh and enjoy. It doesn’t need to make sense:

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt hysterically roasted each other over Barbenheimer during 2024 Oscars

Okay, this was hilarious.

“Barbenheimer” was the biggest film event of 2023, and two of its central players had a blast ribbing each other over being in the rival films.

Emily Blunt, who played Kitty Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer, and Ryan Gosling, who played Ken in Barbie, both got a really fun moment in Sunday’s 96th Oscars ceremony while introducing a tribute to stunt workers.

The two roasted each other over their movies, as Oppenheimer has fared better at the awards but Barbie made more money and led the cultural conversation.

The two will be in this May’s The Fall Guy, and we’re already loving the chemistry these two have while joking with each other.

Ryan Gosling’s awards history at the Oscars

Has Ryan Gosling ever won an Academy Award?

Ryan Gosling has been one of the most consistent movie stars of his generation, as any project he joins has a good chance of being a quality hit.

The Blade Runner 2049 and La La Land star has starred in some of the most beloved films of the last 20 years, but he’s yet to take home an Academy Award despite being nominated a handful of times.

Gosling has been nominated for Best Actor twice, once for 2006’s Half Nelson and once for 2016’s La La Land.

He earned his third nomination in January in Best Supporting Actor for last summer’s blockbuster hit Barbie, where he played Ken. If he wins, it’d be his first Oscar victory in his career.

However, even if he walks away without an Academy Award, he’ll have plenty of love coming his way on Oscar night next month as he’s reportedly set to perform Barbie‘s nominated power ballad “I’m Just Ken” during the ceremony.

Ryan Gosling’s stunned reaction to I’m Just Ken winning a Critics Choice Award became an instant meme

Wake up, a new Ryan Gosling meme just dropped.

He’s just stunned.

Ryan Gosling was in attendance at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, and watched I’m Just Ken the epic song he performed in Barbie — won for best song.

And his reaction? It made for the most perfect GIF and meme, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to see this one on social media for a while, especially in the middle of awards season.

He just kind of stared, unblinkingly, as if he couldn’t believe it happened, or as many people thought, the realization that maybe he’d have to perform it at the 2024 Oscars.

Here are the memes:

Ryan Gosling releases an I’m Just Ken music video (the Christmas version!), and it’s perfection

You may not know it, but you need Ken the EP in your life.

Barbie is without a doubt one of the biggest movies of 2023. The Greta Gerwig directed comedy brought fans out to the theaters in droves — aided in part by the monster shared release date with the completely opposite-vibed Oppenheimer — and made over $1.4 billion worldwide.

MORE: Everyone is absolutely loving Barbie star Ryan Gosling’s big musical number I’m Just Ken

Margot Robbie and America Ferrera shine in the movie, and the perfectly cast Ryan Gosling delivers and absolutely wild and wonderful performance as Ken.

His huge musical number, “I’m Just Ken,” is considered a front-runner for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, so it makes sense that the catchy tune got a little pizazz this week (including a Christmas twist!).

Gosling and producer/songwriter/musician Mark Ronson dropped Ken the EP with three new editions of the song — “I’m Just Ken – Merry Kristmas Barbie,” “I’m Just Ken – In My Feelings Acoustic” and “I’m Just Ken – Purple Disco Machine Remix” — and an accompanying Christmas video.

Perfection.

The 14 best ‘His job is beach’ memes after Barbie’s hilarious Ken line

This meme is everywhere.

There have been so many awesome Barbie memes now that so many people have seen the Greta Gerwig movie and loved it.

There was Crying Barbie and the one with Mojo Dojo Casa House thanks to Ken (played perfectly by Ryan Gosling).

And now, we’ve got another Ken meme: He says his job is “beach” in the movie, which is just hilarious. But now everyone on Twitter (X? Is that what we’re calling it now?) is posting photos of men and others on beaches and declaring that their “job is beach.”

This is very funny stuff. Check out the best memes below:

Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and the entire Barbie cast shone on the pink carpet for the movie premiere

Plenty of pink, iconic looks and star power.

Barbie is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer, with Greta Gerwig’s comedy on everyone’s favorite doll hitting the big screens on July 21. For Monday night’s world premiere in Los Angeles, the stars took to the fittingly pink carpet to celebrate.

Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, and her Ken, Ryan Gosling, stunned in picture perfect outfits, while costars Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Michael Cera and Kate McKinnon stole the show.

Cera perfectly mimicked Gosling’s look, paying homage to the fact that the Allan doll could “fit all of Ken’s clothes.”

The newest trailer for Barbie finds the beloved doll out of the box

The newest trailer for Barbie has the beloved doll out of the box.

Barbie is out of the box in the latest trailer for Greta Gerwig’s cinematic imagining of the classic Mattel doll.

The film, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, has its newest trailer out to give audiences their best glimpse yet into what Gerwig has planned for her Barbie movie.

As folks astutely pointed out that the previous trailer had Wizard of Oz allusions abounding, the film indeed shows Barbie and Ken traveling from their perfect dollhouse world into ours.

The trailer also gives audiences a better glimpse into Will Ferrell’s as the CEO of a toy company. Is this the film’s version of a villain? Will the Barbie movie even have a villain other than whatever existential crisis our heroine is going through? Could Ken be the bad guy all along?

We really don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out.

The film is set for release on July 21, going up against Christopher Nolan’s biopic Oppenheimer.
