Michigan State football ATH commit Shannon Blair decommits ahead of National Signing Day

Michigan State loses a commitment from 2022 ATH Shannon Blair

Just one day away from the early signing period opening up, Michigan State has lost a member of its 2022 recruiting class. Knoxville, Tennessee athlete Shannon Blair has decided to reopen his recruitment.

Michigan State had originally beat out a top-six that included Memphis, Duke, Purdue, Wake Forest and Virginia alongside MSU.

Blair is a 3-star recruit that ranks No. 854 nationally. Prior to his senior high school season, Blair had torn his ACL and was unable to compete for Knoxville West High School.

This now frees up a scholarship for the Spartans to use in the transfer portal or on a different high school recruit prior to the late signing period.

Michigan State football commit suffers season ending injury

Michigan State DB commit Shannon Blair has suffered a season ending knee injury

Michigan State gained a commitment from 3-star athlete Shannon Blair at the end of the month of June. Blair’s skill set translates to a defensive back in college, which is where it is expected that he will play.

A member of the Knoxville West (TN) Rebels, Blair was set to kick off his senior season, in hopes to make a deep run for his final year of high school football.

Unfortunately, Blair’s senior season has been cut way too short, as it was announced that Blair had torn his ACL and would not be returning to the field this season.

Spartan fans will hope for a speedy recover, and that Blair can get back on to the field as soon as possible.
