Georgia Bulldog running back with 145 career rushing yards enters the transfer portal

Senior running back Sevaughn Clark has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. The senior out of Dawsonville, Georgia, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Clark was a walk-on recruit for the Bulldogs and saw limited action over his four years with the Bulldogs. He appeared in five games this past season, including 32 yards and touchdown in the win over UAB. He also rushed for 35 yards in the national championship against TCU.

This isn’t the first time Clark has entered the portal. He did so following the 2022 season. He opted to return to the Bulldogs and competed for playing time among the numerous running back options.

Clark announced that he was entering the transfer portal via social media:

There’s a chance Clark could return once again, however, he would have to compete for playing time in a loaded running back room. The Bulldogs are returning Branson Robinson, Roderick Robinson, Andrew Paul and Cash Jones. The Bulldogs are also welcoming top transfer Trevor Etienne and highly touted recruit Nate Frazier.

Walk-on running back Sevaughn Clark is no longer looking to transfer away from the University of Georgia. Clark entered the transfer portal earlier this offseason.

Clark, a junior, received additional opportunities this spring due to a slew of injuries Georgia sustained at the running back position. Clark had two carries in the spring game for seven yards and a touchdown.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back played in three games for the Bulldogs in 2022. Last season, Clark recorded seven rushes for 44 yards and one catch for four yards.

The former Dawson County standout is expected to be a key player in practice and could have several opportunities in games this fall. Clark had a career-high seven carries for 35 yards in the national championship against TCU.

Clark has two years of eligibility remaining. Georgia’s projected running back room for the fall features Kendall Milton, Branson Robinson and Daijun Edwards. Cash Jones, Roderick Robinson, and Andrew Paul will also compete with Sevaughn Clark for carries.

The Bulldogs also transferred in former Tennessee running back Len’Neth Whitehead.

Georgia Bulldogs running back Sevaughn Clark redshirted in 2019, but saw playing time against Murray State and Arkansas State. Clark will carry experience into next season, but isn’t expected to be a large factor in Georgia’s stacked backfield.

Clark had four carries for 13 yards last season. He came to Athens as an unheralded recruit. He played quarterback and running back in high school, but was more of a threat as a rusher. He additionally ran track for Dawson County.

Clark, a walk-on, has some solid high school highlights. He could potentially step-up to contribute similar to Brian Herrien later in his career.

Clark is in a talented running back room that features Zamir White, James Cook, Kenny McIntosh and more.
