Former Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has taken a job with the Dallas Cowboys.

Former Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has taken a job with the Dallas Cowboys. Schottenheimer previously worked as offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks and the passing game coordinator for Jacksonville Jaguars.

Schottenheimer worked with No. 1 2021 NFL draft pick Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville during the tumultuous Urban Meyer era. He will look for more stability in Dallas.

Schottenheimer will work with Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who was previously the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, and Cowboys’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. His role will be to study the NFL’s trends and how the league game plans.

Rodrigo Blankenship posts hilarious picture with DK Metcalf

Former UGA kicker Rodrigo Blankenship posts hilarious picture with Seattle WR DK Metcalf

Indianapolis Colts kicker Rodrigo Blakenship has a great sense of humor. Blankenship, a former Georgia Bulldog, posted a photo of him and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf on Instagram.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-16 partially thanks to DK Metcalf’s four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. Rodrigo Blankenship made his one field goal attempt and his only extra point attempt for Indianapolis.

Following the game, the duo met on the field for a photo that shows how different NFL players can look, yet still play the same game.

It’s good to see Rodrigo Blankenship still has a sense of humor following a tough loss. Blankenship is a fan favorite for a reason.

Blankenship perhaps posted the photo because it resembles a popular Tweet:

Former UGA OC Brian Schottenheimer takes job with Jaguars

Former Georgia Bulldogs OC Brian Schottenheimer takes job with Jacksonville Jaguars where he will coach with Urban Meyer

Former Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has taken as job as the Passing Game Coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Schottenheimer previously worked as offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks and Schottenheimer parted ways following a rough end to the season. The Los Angeles Rams notably shut down Russell Wilson and Seattle’s offense in the postseason.

Now, Brian Schottenheimer will work under Jaguars’ head coach Urban Meyer as the Passing Game Coordinator in Jacksonville. The Jaguars have the No. 1 selection in the 2021 NFL Draft and they are expected to pick Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

For Schottenheimer it will be a fresh start. Jacksonville has the pieces for an improved offense in 2021, so he landed in a fairly decent situation. The former Georgia offensive coordinator (2015) will look for more stability. He has bounced around the NFL in six different roles as either offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach since 2001.

Interestingly, Schottenheimer played football at the University of Florida in college. Now, he’s headed back to The Sunshine State to coach with Urban Meyer.

Where will Todd Gurley go next: potential landing spots

Former Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is now a free agent. Will he go to the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, or Tampa Bay Bucs

The Los Angeles Rams have released running back Todd Gurley, a former Georgia Bulldog. Gurley is battling a knee ailment, which has contributed to his diminished workload in each of the past two seasons.

Gurley’s carries decreased significantly over the second half of the 2018 season when the Los Angeles Rams lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Last year, Gurley had a career low in carries (223), yards per reception (6.7), and total rushing yardage (857).

Of course, not all of the down season was on the shoulders of Todd Gurley. The Los Angeles Rams offensive line was not the same as it was in 2017 and 2018’s postseason runs. The Patriots and Saints developed blue-prints to slow down Sean McVay’s offense, which is largely based on play-action passing and an effective rushing attack.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapport outlined a couple of possible Todd Gurley destinations:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Gurley is going to want to prove Los Angeles wrong and win on his own. He could join forces with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs don’t have much cap space, but they do need a better running back.

Former UGA WR Kris Durham quarantined in Italy due to coronavirus

Former Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Kris Durham is currently quarantined in Italy due to the coronavirus. He shot a video of the streets.

Former Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Kris Durham is currently quarantined in Italy due to the coronavirus. Durham was a fourth round pick out of the University of Georgia in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Durham bounced around the NFL for a couple of seasons before ending up with the Parma Panthers in Italy. In Parma, Durham shot a video of the quiet streets from an apartment:

We wish Durham good mental and physical health during these concerning times. With the NBA cancelling games for the near future, the United States is starting to see a larger impact from the virus. UGA is hosting the SEC swimming championship without fans.

The coronavirus is impacting Italy more than most countries across the globe. Check out WHO’s website for the latest updates and how to stay safe during the virus, which is now considered a pandemic.

The Seattle Seahawks originally selected Durham, but they cut him in 2012. Durham rejoined Matthew Stafford in Detroit, where Durham spent two seasons with the Lions.
