Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars Game 2 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken meet the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinals playoff series Thursday. The Kraken lead the series 1-0. Puck drop at American Airlines Arena is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Stars odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kraken outlasted the Stars for a 5-4 overtime win Tuesday. Seattle shocked the Stars with 4 goals in the 1st period and didn’t score again until overtime. The Kraken outshot the Stars 44-35 and took home-ice advantage for the series with the victory. RW Jordan Eberle had a goal and an assist as Seattle got tallies from 5 different players. They have now won 3 consecutive road playoff games.

C Joe Pavelski had the game of his life, but it wasn’t enough. Pavelski, 38, became the oldest player to ever record 4 goals in a playoff game. He scored on a wrister, a rebound and 2 ridiculous redirected shots – one he spun around and made contact with the puck in the air, and the other he batted out of the air. The good news for Dallas is they dropped Game 1 in OT in the 1st round and won 4 of the next 5 games.

Kraken at Stars projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV%, 0 SO – regular season) vs. Jake Oettinger (37-11-11, 2.37 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season)

Grubauer allowed 4 goals in the series opener, but 2 were on redirections and 1 was a rebound. So he really only allowed a single, natural goal and made 31 saves on 35 shots. The 4 goals are the 2nd-most he has allowed in a game this postseason, where he’s 5-3 with a 2.57 GAA and .921 SV%.

Oettinger looked shell-shocked skating off the ice after the 1st period Tuesday, but he gathered himself masterfully. Until the OT goal went in, he had saved 33 consecutive shots. He was shaky early in the Minnesota series but buckled down. He’s 4-3 with a 2.35 GAA and .921 SV% in these playoffs.

Kraken at Stars picks and predictions

Prediction

Stars 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

Dallas dropped Game 1 to Minnesota at home and responded with a 7-3 shellacking in Game 2. I look for another strong response. Dallas has scored 4 goals in 3 straight games, and they may need that kind of production as this has the looks of an Over series. I’m taking Dallas again in Game 2. They are healthy, and Seattle is still without top-scorer LW Jared McCann.

PASS on the -210 ML, though. I think we’re going to have another fast-paced 1st period. Take OVER 1.5 TOTAL GOALS FIRST PERIOD (+100).

Puck line/Against the spread

Three of the 4 games between the teams have required overtime this season. So Dallas’ puck line isn’t much of a consideration.

Seattle’s +1.5 (-160) is in a reasonable range, but you have to worry about the possibility of an empty-net goal in postseason play. Seattle was tied for the 7th-fewest empty netters allowed, but Dallas was tied for the 4th-most empty netters scored.

I could see siding with Seattle, but for the amount of risk on the road, I’d want it south of -150.

PASS.

Over/Under

All 4 games between the teams had at least 7 goals scored this season. Seattle has cashed the Over in 2 of the last 3 games and Dallas has cashed the Over in 3 of its last 4. The books don’t appear ready to adapt to those trends. Coming into the series, I expected an Under feel. However, with the way the train left the station in Game 1, and the plus-money available, I’m siding with the OVER 5.5 (+105).

Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken meet the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals playoff series Tuesday. Puck drop at American Airlines Arena is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Stars odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Dallas won 2-0-1

The Kraken became the 1st expansion team to beat the defending Stanley Cup Champions in their inaugural playoff series as they bounced the Colorado Avalanche in 7 games. G Philipp Grubauer was sensational in goal, allowing the high-powered Avs just 8 goals in the final 4 games.

Seattle lost its leading scorer, LW Jared McCann, in Game 4 of the 1st round, and his status is unknown for Game 1 and this entire series.

Dallas took care of the Minnesota Wild in 6 games and had the weekend to rest. Winger Roope Hintz led the way with 5 goals and 7 assists vs. the Wild. C Joe Pavelski missed the final 5 games of the series due to a concussion but appears set to return. He has been skating on the 2nd line with C Tyler Seguin remaining on the top line.

Kraken at Stars projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV%, 0 SO – regular season) vs. Jake Oettinger (37-11-11, 2.37 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season)

Grubauer played some of the best hockey of his career in the 1st round against the Avs with a 2.44 GAA and .926 SV%. He faced Dallas once this season and took the overtime loss at home, allowing 4 goals on 25 shots March 11.

Oettinger was a little shaky early on against Minnesota but really tightened it up, allowing 3 goals in the final 3 games combined. He had a 2.01 GAA and .929 SV% in the series. He was 2-0-1 with a 3.30 GAA and .884 SV% against the Kraken this season.

Prediction

Stars 3, Kraken 1

Moneyline

This series could lengthen if McCann is able to return, but for now, Dallas has the sizeable advantage in depth. Grubauer stood on his head the entire Colorado series, but Oettinger gives Dallas the advantage between the pipes. This one should be a grindy, low-scoring affair.

We’ll PASS on the Stars’ -175 ML because the Kraken deserves credit for what they did vs. the Avalanche.

Head to the Win/Total section, and TAKE STARS TO WIN AND UNDER 6.5 TOTAL GOALS (+120).

Puck line/Against the spread

Two of the 3 games between these teams this season were decided by 1 goal — both overtime results. Four of Seattle’s 7 games vs. Colorado were within a goal. Two of Dallas’ 6 games were within a goal.

Dallas is rested. Seattle could be without its top scorer. I like the return on the puck line enough to give it a shot. TAKE STARS -1.5 (+150).

Over/Under

All 3 games between the teams had at least 7 goals scored this season. Dallas was 2-3-1 O/U against Minnesota, and the Over was 1-6 in Seattle’s series against Colorado. I look for an Under game here as each team feels the other out, and we have 2 red-hot goalies.

LEAN UNDER 5.5 (-135) or PASS.

Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche Game 7 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Seattle Kraken vs. Colorado Avalanche Game 7 odds and lines, with expert NHL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken and the Colorado Avalanche square off Sunday for a decisive Game 7 of the Western Conference quarterfinals, as the series shifts back to Denver. Puck drop from Ball Arena is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Avalanche odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Series tied 3-3

Win or lose, the Kraken have impressed in their 1st-ever trip to the postseason. Seattle suffered a disappointing 4-1 loss on home ice in Game 6, a closeout game. Still, the Kraken have scored 16 goals in the first 6 games, to 18 scored for the Avalanche, more than holding their own against the defending champs.

The Avalanche had their backs to the wall in Game 6, but showed its championship mettle, despite playing without the likes of Gabriel Landeskog (knee – out for the playoffs) and Valeri Nichushkin (personal). Darren Helm has also been sidelined due to an undisclosed injury.

In addition, Andrew Cogliano was hit from behind near the boards by Jordan Eberle in Game 6, and he suffered a fractured bone in his neck. Cogliano is now out indefinitely. Amazingly, Cogliano was able to return to the game after the hit, but he is now sidelined, too.

Colorado has dropped 2 of 3 games on home ice, and Seattle actually went 26-11-4 on the road, while going just 20-17-4 at home. So the ability for the Kraken to win on the road is no real surprise.

Kraken at Avalanche projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV% – regular season) vs. Alexandar Georgiev (40-16-6, 2.53 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season)

Grubauer has allowed 3 or fewer goals in each of his last 3 games, and he has served as a real thorn in the side of his former teammates. Grubauer is 3-3-0 with a 2.68 GAA and .919 SV% in this postseason, including 2 wins in Denver.

Georgiev kicked aside 22 of the 23 shots he faced in Game 6, keep the Avalanche afloat for this decisive Game 7. He has posted a 3-3-0 record, 2.69 GAA and .913 SV% in his 6 starts, his 1st 6 playoff starts in the NHL.

Kraken at Avalanche picks and predictions

Prediction

Kraken 3, Avalanche 2

Moneyline

The KRAKEN (+180) are worth a roll of the dice, as they’re actually a much better team on the road than at home.

Yes, it’s a difficult spot playing in a Game 7 on the road, especially against the defending champs. But this team doesn’t have the same firepower as they had last season, and they’re certainly beatable. At plus-money, for a chance to nearly double up, Seattle is a much better value.

I also like the postseason experience of Grubauer over Georgiev, who is playing his 1st Game 7.

As an added bonus, Seattle has been led by Justin Schultz with a goal and 5 points in these playoffs. Jaden Schwartz has 2 goals and 5 points to tie Schultz atop the charts. Schwartz is worth playing at BetMGM Sportsbook in the scoring props at even-money, or SCHWARTZ OVER 0.5 POINTS (+100).

Puck line/Against the spread

The KRAKEN +1.5 (-145) isn’t priced out of line if you feel this will be a 1-goal game going in favor of the home side instead. No one can blame you for wanting some insurance, and not wanting to pick against the defending champ Avalanche -1.5 (+120).

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) might be the best pick on the board in this Game 7.

We’ve seen the Under cash in 5 of the 6 games in this series so far, and we should see both sides being very calculated on the offensive end, not wanting to make a mistake leading to an odd-man rush the other way. I could even see this one as a 1-1 or 2-2 game heading to OT to decide a winner.

Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 6 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 6 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Avalanche and the Seattle Kraken meet Friday for Game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals, as the series shifts back to Seattle. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Avalanche vs. Kraken odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Kraken lead the series 3-2.

The defending champ Avalanche face an elimination game against the 2nd-year Kraken. Colorado lost a pivotal Game 5 on home ice 3-2 Wednesday. While Colorado has had some injury issues, missing Gabriel Landeskog, while also losing Valeri Nichushkin to a personal issue, it still has had its chances.

The Kraken have taken advantage of some miscues and bad bounces for the Avs, and it has done what got them into the playoffs in the 1st place. Seattle has fought and clawed for everything, while winning on the road. That was the regular-season recipe for success, and it has spilled over into the playoffs.

Seattle has scored 3 or more goals in 4 of the 5 games in this series, and it holds a slight 15-14 edge in goals scored.

Avalanche at Kraken projected goalies

Alexandar Georgiev (40-16-6, 2.53 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season) vs. Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV% – regular season)

Georgiev allowed 3 goals on 29 shots in the setback in Game 5, and he has now lost back-to-back starts for the 1st time since March 4-5. Oddly enough, in that 2-game losing skid in March, one of the setbacks was against the Kraken in OT in Denver.

Grubauer, the former Avalanche backstop, stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced in the Game 5 win in his old stomping ground. The German-born tendy is 3-2-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .918 SV% in 5 games in this postseason. It is the same 2.61 GAA he posted in 2021 as a member of the Avs in 10 playoff games.

Avalanche at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The AVALANCHE (-160) are moderate favorites, and they’re going to get it done on the road. Look for Colorado to show off its championship mettle, scratching out a close win to deny the Kraken (+135) their 1st-ever playoff series win.

Colorado is 12-5 in the past 17 games when playing on a day of rest. The road team is also 6-2 in the previous 8 meetings in this series.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-190) is just a little too pricey for my liking just for a little insurance. If you like Seattle, especially on its home ice, just play it straight up for a much better value.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) is the lean in Game 6.

We’ve seen the Under cash in 8 of the last 9 meetings between these teams. The intensity in this series will be at an all-time high, too.

Look for the Kraken to be nervous, playing in its 1st-ever close-out game, while the Avalanche will likely be very calculated and careful, as it doesn’t want to take too many chances leading to odd-man rushes the other way.

Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche Game 5 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche Game 5 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken and the Colorado Avalanche meet Wednesday for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, as the series shifts back to Denver. Puck drop from Ball Arena is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Avalanche odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Series tied 2-2.

The Kraken picked up a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 4 at Climate Pledge Arena in front of an electric crowd, earning their 1st-ever playoff win at home. Seattle has scored 12 goals in the 4 games so far, or 3.0 goals per game (GPG). Jordan Eberle buried a power-play goal exactly 3 minutes into OT to send the crowd home happy.

The defending champion Avalanche have scored 3 or fewer goals in 3 of the 4 games so far. Mikko Rantanen was the only scorer in Game 4, netting an even-strength marker and a power-play goal. He has 4 goals in the last 2 games, and 5 goals in the series.

Kraken at Avalanche projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV% – regular season) vs. Alexandar Georgiev (40-16-6, 2.53 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season)

Grubauer wanted a huge contract after the 2020-21 season, but the Avalanche balked and exposed him to the expansion draft. He has played with a little extra intensity against his old team, going 2-2-0 with a 2.76 GAA and .916 SV% in the 1st 4 games in this series.

Georgiev kicked aside 40 of the 43 shots he faced in the 3-2 OT loss in Game 4 in Seattle, snapping a 2-game win streak in the series. He has allowed 3 or more goals in 3 of the 4 games in this series.

Kraken at Avalanche picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Avalanche (-185) will cost nearly 2 times your potential return, and that’s just too risky in a series which has had all 4 games decided by 2 or fewer goals, including a pair of 1-goal games, with the last one decided in OT.

That’s too much risk with not enough reward, even if you were to toss Colorado into a multi-team parlay.

PASS.

Puck line/Against the spread

The KRAKEN +1.5 (-175) are a solid play on the puck line, as this series has been surprisingly tight through 4 games.

The Avalanche -1.5 (+145) have struggled a little offensively, missing Gabriel Landeskog (knee) in these playoffs. In addition, Valeri Nichushkin left the team in Seattle for personal reasons, while veteran Darren Helm is also on the shelf.

Seattle might not win this pivotal Game 5, but look for the Kraken to keep this game super close, which has been the case for the entire series.

Over/Under

UNDER 6 (-120) is the way to go in Game 5.

The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 games on the road for the Kraken, while cashing at a 4-1 clip in the last 5 games when working on a day of rest.

In addition, the Under has cashed in 7 of the last 8 meetings, including 3 of the first 4 battles in this playoff series.

Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 4 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Avalanche face the Seattle Kraken on Monday for Game 4 of their Western Conference quarterfinals series. The Avalanche lead the series 2-1. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Avalanche vs. Kraken odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The defending champion Avalanche spoiled Seattle’s party in its first-ever home playoff game with a 6-4 victory Saturday. Superstar C Nathan MacKinnon scored a pair of goals in the victory.

Colorado picked up the win despite missing key-scoring RW Valeri Nichushkin, who was away from the team due to undisclosed personal reasons. Coach Jared Bednar offered no timetable for when the veteran might return.

The Kraken actually opened the scoring at 6:08 of the 1st period when C Jaden Schwartz scored his first of 2 goals on the night. Colorado scored the next 3 goals before D Jamie Oleksiak and C Matty Beniers scored within 19 seconds of each other in to knot the game up 2-2.

However, D Mikko Rantanen and MacKinnon took over in the final frame, scoring 3 goals. Schwartz put a bow on the scoring on the power play with 40 seconds remaining.

Avalanche at Kraken projected goalies

Alexandar Georgiev (40-16-6, 2.53 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – regular season) vs. Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV% – regular season)

Georgiev blew an early lead, but he shut it down in the 3rd period in Game 3. He allowed 4 goals on 29 shots in the road win, and while he is 2-1-0 in this series, he has been giving with a 3.04 GAA and .898 SV%, both rather subpar numbers.

Grubauer was sharp in the series opener in Denver, stopping 34 of the 35 shots he faced. He made 38 saves in Game 2, but he coughed up 5 goals on 33 shots in the Game 3 home loss.

Avalanche at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Kraken 4, Avalanche 3

Moneyline

While it didn’t happen in Game 3, the KRAKEN (+125) will get the first playoff home win in franchise history on Monday.

The Avalanche have been missing LW Gabriel Landeskog (knee) in these playoffs and definitely didn’t need to lose Nichushkin. Depth veteran C Darren Helm has been in and out of the lineup in this series, making things a little more challenging for the champs.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-200) will cost you 2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much if you need some insurance and can’t pull the trigger on Seattle straight up.

PASS.

Over/Under

The OVER 6 (-105) is the lean, although don’t get too crazy.

The Over cashed in Game 3 with a total of 10 goals, but we had just 9 total goals in the first 2 meetings in the series, so be careful.

The Over is 6-0 in the past 6 road games for the Avalanche, while going 7-3 in the past 10 Conference Quarterfinals games.

Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Avalanche at Seattle Kraken Game 3 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado Avalanche visit the Seattle Kraken Saturday for Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Avalanche vs. Kraken odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

This series is tied 1-1. The Kraken picked up a surprising 3-1 victory in Game 1 in their 1st-ever playoff game, while the Avalanche scratched out a 3-2 win in Game 2.

Seattle did most everything right in the series opener, dishing out 40 hits to just 29 for the Avalanche, while blocking 23 shots to just 19 for Colorado. In Game 2, the Avs managed a 3-2 victory, as they picked up the physical play with 50 hits to just 40 for the Kraken.

The power play has been non-existent for both teams, going 0-for-5 for Seattle in the first 2 games and 0-for-4 in the first 2 games for Colorado.

Avalanche 4, Kraken 1

Moneyline

Seattle won its 1st-ever postseason game in Game 1. On Saturday, it will try to get its 1st-ever home playoff win. The AVALANCHE (-155) are poised to prevent that franchise history in this series.

Climate Pledge Arena should be at full throat when the defending champs come through. While Colorado has really missed the offense of Gabriel Landeskog (knee), who will not return for these playoffs, it still has plenty of experience to tap into from last season. There is plenty of depth on this roster to upend the upstart Kraken (+130), too.

Puck line/Against the spread

The AVALANCHE -1.5 (+165) are worth playing on the puck line.

On the road, Colorado has won 11 consecutive games, while going 4-7 on the puck line in those outings. It has struggled with the Kraken +1.5 (-200), but Colorado will secure the Game 3 win with its most impressive showing of the series. That’s what champions do when people start to count them out and doubt their ability.

Over/Under

The UNDER 6 (-120) is easily the best play on the board, as the power play has been non-existent on both sides.

Both games have gone Under in this series. The Under is 3-1-1 in the past 5 games overall in this series, while going 6-0 in the past 6 meetings between these 2 teams. The Under is also 19-6-1 in the past 26 games for the Kraken against teams with a winning percentage greater than .600.

Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Seattle Kraken at Colorado Avalanche Game 2 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wild Card Seattle Kraken try to melt the 2-seed Colorado Avalanche Thursday in Game 2 of their 1st-round series at Ball Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Avalanche odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Series: Seattle leads 1-0

Seattle shocked the defending champs with a 3-1 victory in Game 1. G Philipp Grubauer was amazing between the pipes, stopping 34 of 35 shots. RW Eeli Tolvanen jumped on an Avs turnover and took it the other way for the franchise’s 1st playoff goal. The Kraken defense was also able to keep the speedy Avs to the outside and protect the middle.

D Cale Makar returned with 3 shots on goal (SOG) and a +1, but it wasn’t enough as the Avs couldn’t match the fresher Kraken’s energy. Colorado had to play 6 games in 8 days to close out the regular season, and they’ll need to re-enter that zone to even the series.

Kraken at Avalanche projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (17-14-4, 2.85 GAA, .895 SV% – reg. season) vs. Alexandar Georgiev (40-16-6, 2.53 GAA, .919 SV%, 5 SO – reg. season)

Grubauer was nothing short of awesome in Game 1, stopping all but 1 of 35 shots. He was 9-3-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .898 SV% from March 1 to the end of the regular season. Grubauer was fantastic in 3 starts against Colorado in the regular season at 1-0-1 with a 1.70 GAA and .928 SV%. He’ll need to continue to stand on his head because the Avs are coming.

Georgiev stopped 27 of 30 shots in the Game 1 loss. He can be better, but it really wasn’t on him. He started 5 games in 7 days to close out the regular season. So he could be on a short leash in Game 1. Georgiev was 6-0-1 with a 2.40 GAA and .917 SV% in 7 April starts to close out the season. Seattle beat him 3-2 in OT in his only regular-season meeting, and he stopped 32 of 35 shots.

Kraken at Avalanche picks and predictions

Prediction

Avalanche 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

This is a bit of a trap game for bettors because the common thought is there’s no way Colorado goes down 2-0 at home, right? However, we touched on how gassed they could be after the grind of the final week of the season. One player that isn’t showing fatigue is C Nathan MacKinnon. He has had 6+ SOG in 4 of the last 5 games.

Take NATHAN MACKINNON OVER 4.5 SHOTS (-150).

Puck line/Against the spread

Five of the regular-season 6 games between these teams were decided by 1 goal. The Kraken are a great road team and have won 3 times in this building this season. They were 48-34 on the puck line this season and 27-14 on the road. It cashed in Game 1, and we’ll take KRAKEN +1.5 (-145) again.

Over/Under

Georgiev has allowed at least 2 goals in 10 straight games. So we’ll need to make up 4 goals between the teams for at least a push, and unless Colorado is just toast, that should happen. The last 5 games between the teams have gone Under this number, and the books know that. But they aren’t accounting for Colorado’s need to light the lamp early to take momentum back. Take advantage.

LEAN OVER 6 (+100).

Golden Knights at Kraken projected goalies

Laurent Brossoit (6-0-3, 2.29 GAA, .923 SV%) vs. Philipp Grubauer (17-13-4, 2.87 GAA, .895 SV%)

Brossoit has emerged as an unlikely star for Vegas, and he could lead it to a division title with another win. He is a perfect 4-0-0 with a 1.73 GAA and .940 SV% in 4 starts in April. Brossoit stopped 20 of 21 shots against the Kraken in the front end of the home-and-home set Tuesday.

Grubauer picked up a win last time out at the Arizona Coyotes Monday, as he allowed just a single goal on 23 shots. He has also been hot in April, going 3-0-0 with a 1.21 GAA and .952 SV% in 3 starts and 1 relief appearance.

Golden Knights at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-120) are a solid play as favorites on the road. Vegas simply needs 1 point to raise a banner.

The Kraken have already clinched a Wild Card spot, and if Vegas manages to win the division, these teams will face each other in the first round.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-250) have nothing to play for, other than trying to spoil the division hopes of the Golden Knights, perhaps changing Seattle’s first-round opponent to the Oilers.

PASS.

Over/Under

The UNDER 6 (-105) is the lean, mainly because Brossoit and Grubauer have been so very hot and have sub-2.00 GAA in April.

The Under is also 15-7-2 in the past 24 road games for the Golden Knights, while going 13-3-1 in the past 7 games against teams with a winning percentage over .600.

Kraken at Golden Knights projected goalies

Martin Jones (27-13-3, 2.99 GAA, .887 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Laurent Brossoit (5-0-3, 2.44 GAA, .921 SV%)

Jones turned aside 15 of the 18 shots he faced Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks, but he was removed after 2 periods after suffering a hand injury. He is still expected to be ready, but if not, Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer could get an unexpected nod.

Brossoit has taken advantage of injuries and poor play by others to secure a majority of starts. He has taken the ball and run with it, winning 3 consecutive games against playoff contenders Los Angeles and Minnesota (x2).

Kraken at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Kraken 3

Moneyline

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-150) are a solid value, as Vegas remains in the mix for a Pacific Division title. While the home team has won each of the 1st 2 regular-season meetings, Vegas is 11-4 in the last 15 games against winning teams, while going 11-3 in the last 14 games at “The Fortress”.

Puck line/Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+165) are worth a look on home ice, although it might take an empty-net goal late to get over the hump.

The Kraken +1.5 (-200) is just 1-5 in the last 6 meetings, and the favorite has cashed in 5 of the last 6 in this series.

Over/Under

The OVER 6 (-120) is the lean in this Western Conference battle.

The Over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 games on the road for the Kraken, while cashing at a 6-2-1 clip in the last 9 games against winning teams.

The Over is 9-4-1 in the last 14 games for VGK, while going 6-1 in the last 7 outings at home.
