HoopsHype ranks 10 players who have appeared most often in NBA trade rumors, led by Kevin Durant and Scottie Barnes.
The NBA offseason market has been ground to a halt as teams wait for a potential Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving trade to go down, neither of which looks all that close to coming to fruition.
The latest scuttle even indicates that both players may remain with the Brooklyn Nets next season.
Below, check out the 10 players who have appeared most often in trade rumors over the past week.
The three players were unanimous selections to the first team, receiving votes on all 100 ballots.
Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley and Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham headlined the NBA All-Rookie first team announced on Wednesday.
The three players were unanimous selections to the first team, receiving votes on all 100 ballots from a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. They were the three finalists for Rookie of the Year, which was awarded to Barnes last month.
Joining the trio are Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner and Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green. Wagner received 84 first-place votes while Green garnered 58 in the final tally.
The voting was conducted without consideration for the positions.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Herb Jones narrowly edged out Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey for the most points on the second team. They are joined by Denver Nuggets guard Bones Hyland, Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu and Indiana Pacers guard Chris Duarte.
Mobley turned in a tremendous season with the Cavaliers and Love thought he should have won Rookie of the Year.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley turned in a tremendous rookie campaign this season, and came up just short of winning Rookie of the Year. In fact, the final tally went down as the closest race in history.
Cavaliers forward Kevin Love thought Mobley should have won.
Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes was crowned the Rookie of the Year last month after receiving 48 of the 100 first-place votes from a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. He finished with 378 total points, topping the 363 points for Mobley.
It was the smallest margin in the balloting under the current voting format, which began in the 2002-03 season.
Certainly, the Rookie of the Year race proved to be rather difficult to predict with Mobley and Barnes battling back and forth throughout the year. Detroit Pistons guard and finalist Cade Cunningham also had a case to win, despite a slow start to the year.
Love, speaking with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, was impressed by Mobley.
I think it’s going to be when it’s all said and done, you’re going to say, ‘Kevin Love took a backseat to Evan Mobley.’ I saw him and I’m like, ‘Oh, wow! I get it.’ I’m obviously biased but I thought he should have won Rookie of the Year. I know it was a very close battle. Scottie Barnes is a beast. Cade Cunningham: Awesome player. I love Evan’s makeup. I love his brain and how he lets everything come to him.
“I thought he should’ve won Rookie of the Year.”
K-Love talks Evan Mobley’s growth amid a competitive ROY race this season
Love thoroughly loved what Mobley brought to the Cavaliers this season and often sung his praises all year long. He believes Mobley can become a perennial All-Defensive player and a consistent double-double threat each night.
Certainly, the tight finish this season in the Rookie of the Year voting further demonstrated how talented the class is. It could go down as one of the best ever with Mobley and Barnes leading the way, and several others right behind them.
Barnes plans to get into the gym early and often this summer after a tremendous rookie campaign.
Fresh off of a tremendous rookie campaign, Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes plans to get into the gym early and often this summer to improve his overall skillset.
The Raptors were eliminated from the playoffs on Thursday by the Philadelphia 76ers and will now enter the offseason. The team went 48-34 during the regular season and finished particularly strong after starting off with a 22-22 record.
Certainly, Barnes had a great rookie campaign. He set the bar high for himself this year and will be looking to have an even better sophomore year next season. He detailed the Raptors’ message to him ahead of the offseason and what he plans to work on.
It is really just about what you feel you need to work on and improve and they have the same mutual agreement: Just come back stronger, work on my shooting, keep continuing to work on my body. Get bigger and stronger and keep developing.
Barnes plans to link up with the same trainers he used last year during the pre-draft process in California this summer. He will also get some work in with the Raptors’ training staff periodically and maintain communication with coaches.
The fourth pick proved to be more than ready to compete this season and the results showed on the court. It is reasonable to believe that work ethic will only continue over the next several months as Barnes looks ahead to his second season in the NBA.
I’m not sure it was like Jimmy Butler in Game of Zones…but it was probably intense.

Scottie Barnes made a checklist of goals he wanted to accomplish during his first professional season, and he did a great job of achieving them.
Barnes saved that checklist as the lock screen of his phone, per Marc Spears, which means he saw these aspirations all of the time. One of the goals was to put himself in a position to take care of his family for the rest of his life. The former Florida State star also set out to lead by example. Barnes said that he wanted to be known as a lead defender, too.
During his first professional season, Barnes went on to win Rookie of the Year, and he reached many of the aspirations he sought after. But the one that caught my attention the most: He wanted to destroy everyone in practice.
Based on his success otherwise, I’d have to assume that he did that as well. I’m not sure if it was Jimmy Butler in Game of Zones levels of destruction. But there is a palpable joy and intensity that Barnes brings whenever he is on the floor, and I’m sure it was infectious for his Toronto teammates.
If I were reading this as a Sixers fan, I’d be a little intimidated.
The Tip-Off
Golden State is advancing to the next round of the playoffs, and frankly, they’re probably in a better position to win the title than any team in the league.
That’s saying something, especially considering their best lineup didn’t even look good when they played together during Game 5 against the Nuggets. It is great for the game to have the Warriors playing at this level, and our own Andy Nesbitt has more:
“As a basketball fan this is what you want to see, even if you’re not rooting for the Warriors. We’re lucky to be able to witness Curry doing Curry things again in huge games. We’re lucky to have this storyline back on this big stage. It’s been too long and we should be grateful for the opportunity to be able to take in these moments.”
I’m excited to see where this group can go once they have more minutes together, and if Stephen Curry wins another title, his legacy will only be greater.
One to Watch
Sixers (-1.5, -125) vs. Raptors (+102), O/U 209.5, 7:00 PM ET
Sixers coach Doc Rivers doesn’t care what you say about 3-1 leads. He is tired of hearing about it, and he doesn’t think you’re telling the whole story.
But the only way he can avoid people talking about it is if Philly can beat Toronto to avoid another blunder. That’s not easy, though, as the Raptors are playing at home. That also means Sixers defensive guru Matisse Thybulle is ineligible to play due to his vaccination status.
Who’s in and out?
— Pelicans: Brandon Ingram (finger) is probable against the Suns
— Jazz: Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) is probable against the Mavs
— Raptors: Fred VanVleet (hip) is doubtful against the Sixers

Barnes offered a positive injury update heading into Game 6 versus the Sixers on Thursday.
Toronto Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes on Wednesday said the pain level in his left ankle is minimal after missing two games versus the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
Barnes suffered the injury in Game 1 after his foot was stepped on by Joel Embiid. He missed the next two games before returning to play on Saturday as the Raptors beat the Sixers in Game 4 to avoid a series sweep. He had six points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
The Rookie of the Year even reinjured the same ankle in that game after tripping on the leg of a defender. He managed to play through it and followed it up by producing 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in Game 5 as Toronto won, 103-88.
He is seemingly as healthy as he can be at this point in the playoffs.
I feel great. My body feels great. Overall, mentally and physically I feel great. I come in every morning and get my treatment. I come in before the game and get treatment but I’m not really worried about it anymore. A little pain comes now and then but I’m fine.
Barnes emerged as a key player this season for the Raptors and played a major role in the team qualifying for the playoffs. His absence in Games 2 and 3 greatly affected them, but they have performed better with him back in the lineup after winning two straight.
The update from Barnes is seemingly great news for the Raptors as they face a must-win situation at home on Thursday to stay alive. They have built good momentum over the last two games and will be looking to keep it going.
Game 6 is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. EDT on NBA TV.
The length of Scottie Barnes and the Toronto Raptors is bothering Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey on the offensive end.
CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers got off to a very good start to this series on the offensive end against the Toronto Raptors. They were able to score at an efficient clip and it helped that Tyrese Maxey was able to get going.
Maxey had 38 points in Game 1 as the Raptors stuck Fred VanVleet and a then-sick Gary Trent Jr. on him. In Game 2, Maxey had 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting with Scottie Barnes out and he then scored 19 points in Game 3.
Barnes made his return to the lineup in Game 4 and Maxey shot only 4-for-12 to score 11 points and then shot 5-for-14 for 12 points in Game 5. The length of Barnes and the Raptors are making life tough for him on the offensive end.
“It gives them a lot of length,” said Danny Green. “Even though he’s not 100%, he’s not able to move as fast as he wants to, he can rebound offensively for them and bring the ball up, and defensively, he causes a lot of chaos with his activity and his hands. He has a lot of length and when they double Jo (Embiid), he’s able to make sure that Jo can’t really see passes and get in lanes and be disruptive.”
The only way to really beat that length for a guy like Maxey is to push the pace. That would make Barnes less of a factor and it would allow Maxey to attack downhill which is something he has not been able to do in the half-court when he tries to attack the basket.
“Again, that’s what we’re talking about playing with better pace and more space and we can get Tyrese downhill,” said coach Doc Rivers. “It’s clear when Tyrese’s fingernails touch the backboard, we’re better basketball team. I asked him at halftime how many times have your fingernails touched the backboard? He said once and that was a steal. So it’s clear we got to get him going downhill.”
The return of Barnes from injury has certainly helped the Raptors immensely on the defensive end, but the Sixers have to find a way to get him out of the play which then allows Maxey and the rest of the offense to flow.
“We got to find ways to take him and everybody else out of the game defensively not allowing them to be in their spots or letting be uncomfortable or trapping,” Green continued. “Making them pay for when they do make mistakes defensively.”
Of course, Barnes first suffered the injury in Game 1 after his foot was stepped on by Joel Embiid. He missed the next two games before returning to play on Saturday as the Raptors won to avoid a series sweep. He had six points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
The Rookie of the Year even reinjured the same ankle in Game 4. He came up limping in the second quarter after he appeared to trip on the leg of a defender. He was eventually able to return after receiving treatment from the team medical staff.
The conversation of Barnes playing through his injury occurred Monday on “Inside the NBA” when the crew on TNT was talking about Ben Simmons. He was rumored to debut with the Brooklyn Nets in Game 4 versus Boston but was eventually ruled out due to a back injury.
The Nets were then eliminated by the Celtics on Monday.
Simmons’ decision to sit and miss the entire season was heavily criticized by Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. They each thought Simmons should have tried to play and help his teammates in the playoffs. Barkley then gave Barnes praise for playing on Saturday.
If you go back and look at that Toronto game we had Saturday, that boy who won Rookie of the Year, he was out there on one leg. He didn’t try to do anything, he was just like, ‘I gotta try to help my team.’ I don’t even know if he scored but he was just trying. … I was so impressed by Scottie Barnes.
Barnes emerged as a key player this season for the Raptors and played a major role in the team qualifying for the playoffs. His absence in Games 2 and 3 greatly affected them as he can do so much on the court and play in a variety of roles.
Toronto managed to stave off elimination when Barnes returned in Game 4 and the group even took Game 5 on Monday to bring the series to 3-2. Barnes had 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in that 103-88 win in Philadelphia.
Comparing the injuries between Barnes and Simmons was likely a bit unfair to Simmons as there are other extenuating factors to consider with his situation. However, it is still certain that Barnes earned plenty of respect for his decision to play.
Game 6 is scheduled to tip off on Thursday at 7 p.m. EDT.
