Rutgers football recruit Renick Dorilas is transferring

Renick Dorilas is moving to Don Bosco Prep this fall.

Renick Dorilas, one of the top players in New Jersey and a Rutgers football recruit, is set to transfer for his final season of high school football.

Traditional powerhouse Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, New Jersey) is set to be the junior’s home next fall. Dorilas made the announcement on social media on Friday afternoon.

Dorilas spent his first three years of high school at Union (Union, New Jersey). Adding Dorilas is a big boost for a Don Bosco program that is looking to challenge Bergen Catholic this fall.

In 2023 as a junior, Dorilas had 40 tackles (including two tackles for a loss). He has two interceptions and four passes defended for Union.

A consensus three-star and a top-10 player in New Jersey according to Rivals, Dorilas recently announced a top-five that included Rutgers football.

In addition to Rutgers,the late-January cutdown from Dorilas also included Tennessee, Penn State, Syracuse and West Virginia.

Dorilas was a frequent visitor at Rutgers this fall, attending several home games.

Jaiden Braker announces an official visit to Rutgers football

Jaiden Braker will take an official visit to Rutgers this June.

Georgia athlete Jaiden Braker announced on Friday that he will be taking an official visit to Rutgers.

An edge rusher, Braker has offers that include BYU, Georgia Southern, Liberty, Indiana, SMU and Utah among others. His offer from Rutgers came on Feb. 22.

His announcement did not include a date, only to post on social media that it would be his first official visit.

Also on Friday, Braker said he will be taking an official visit to Utah on the weekend of June 15.

Last year as a junior at South Gwinnett (Snellville, Georgia), Braker had 48 total tackles and four tackles for a loss. At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, he has some really intriguing size and production.

 

Rutgers currently has three members in its 2025 recruiting class. Quarterback [autotag]Sean Ashenfelder[/autotag] from Florida was the first commitment last fall.

Kaylib Singleton is planning a Rutgers football official visit

Kaylib Singleton is planning an official visit to Rutgers football this summer.

Florida athlete Kaylib Singleton is planning to visit Rutgers this summer, just weeks after being offered by the Big Ten program.

Singleton will take an official visit to Rutgers football in the middle of June. He is one of the purest athletes in the class of 2025.

In addition to playing asa defensive back fo Fleming Park (Fleming Park, Florida), Singleton is also a sprinter and participates in the long jump. Rutgers offered Singleton in late February, joining an offer list that includes Power Five programs such as Florida, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Liberty Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and UCF among others.

It had been reported this week that Singleton had only scheduled an official visit to Florida, but he said he currently has three visits planned out.

“I have an official visit at Rutgers on June 1416 and, I’m also in the middle of getting a date for my third official visit at South Florida,” Singleton told Rutgers Wire.

“I chose Rutgers as one of my official visits because, I feel like I have a great connection with coach Orphey (defensive backs coach Mark Orphey) and coach Schiano (head coach Greg Schiano) and I can possibly see myself playing at Rutgers. I want to get to know all the coaches and see how the culture is down there.”

According to Rivals, Singleton is the No. 38 athlete in the nation.

Ian Williams breaks down his recent Rutgers football offer: ‘It was awesome talking to coach Schiano’

Rutgers football recruit Ian Williams talks about his recent offer from the Big Ten program.

This week, Rutgers football offered Georgia athlete Ian Williams. The defensive back is a quick-twitch athlete and a playmaker in the secondary.

He was offered this week during a call with Rutgers football head coach Greg Schiano, safeties coach Drew Lascari and running backs coach Damiere Shaw.

Williams has pulled in recent offers from East Carolina, James Madison and South Florida over the past month. He is still flying very much under the radar despite his unquestioned athleticism.

He is an explosive athlete. At 6-foot and 185 pounds, Williams moves well across the open field. Instinctual and fluid in his movement, he breaks to the ball very well.

He is a class of 2025 recruit from Cass High School (Marietta, Georgia).

As a junior, Williams had 73 total tackles with four interceptions and 14 passes defended. He runs a 4.48 time in the 40.

“It was awesome talking to coach Schiano, coach Drew and coach Shaw,” Williams told Rutgers Wire this week.

“Learning how they’re building this program from the ground up once again.

“My main goal to surpass Ed Reed so talking to the guy that basically fixed his mindset was amazing to me. Also, to learn more about the Rutgers football facility and development was a big thing for me. And I believe they have the best that I’ve seen so far.”

Currently, he is unranked by all four recruiting services.

In terms of fit, Williams believes that the Rutgers defensive scheme works well for him and with his skill set.

On film, Williams is a player who reads and reacts very well. His athleticism allows him to cover ground but it is his grasp and reading of the game that really pops up when watching him play.

The Rutgers defense, he said, is a good fit for how he plays.

“Yes, I do – I believe their system fits me and how I play,” Williams said.

“Also, I want to go to a school that’s built on family so it’s dope that they share that.”

Williams has a list of unofficial visits all set up for this spring:

  • Cincinnatti (April 2)
  • Pittsburgh (April 4)
  • South Florida (April 6)

Rutgers football recruiting: N’Kye Wynn gets a Big Ten offer on Tuesday night

N’Kae Wynn is offered by Rutgers football.

N’Kye Wynn pulled in an offer from Rutgers football on Tuesday night, one of three offers sent out by the staff on the day.

A class of 2025 offensive lineman, Wynn plays for Muskegon (Muskegon, Michigan). In addition to his recent offer from Rutgers, Wynn has been offered by Power Five programs such as Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky and Pittsburgh among others.

According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound interior offensive lineman is a three-star and the No. 17 player in Michigan.

Wynn announced recently that he will be taking an official visit to Kentucky from June 7-9.

In the 2024 recruiting class, Rutgers landed two players from Michigan, both of whom were three-star recruits (linebacker Montele Johnson and tight end Monte Keener).

Tyler Kielmeyer talks about his recent offer from Rutgers football

Tyler Kielmeyer was offered by Rutgers football in February.

Tyler Kielmeyer was one of the most recent offers sent out by Rutgers with the tight end from Ohio already planning a visit to the Scarlet Knights for this spring.

A 6-foot-7 tight end from Westerville South (Westerville, Ohio), Kielmeyer is a three-star and the No. 36 tight end in the nation according to 247Sports. He was offered by Rutgers in late February

He has an offer list that includes Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Wisconsin among others.

His most recent offer was from Rutgers and came during a video call with head coach Greg Schiano and members of the staff.

“It was awesome to get an offer from such a great coach like coach Schiano,” Kielmeyer told Rutgers Wire on Monday.

“It is awesome to get an offer from any school who wants me.”

He said the message from Rutgers was on how he could fit into the rebuilding effort with the Scarlet Knights. Last year, Rutgers finished the year 7-6 following a Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami.
“(They are) A developmental program that is on the rise,” Kielmeyer said.
“They think I have the right skills and can develop well in their offense.”
This spring, Kielmeyer hopes to visit Cincinnati, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Wisconsin in addition to Rutgers.

Three-star offensive lineman Gerrick Gordon offered by Rutgers football

Rutgers football sent out an offer this week to Florida offensive lineman Gerrick Gordon.

Rutgers football offered Gerrick Gordon, a standout offensive lineman from Florida.

Gordon, a class of 2025 recruit, is a very solid guard prospect from Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Florida). He checks in at a solid 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds.and holds offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Purdue, South Carolina and West Virginia among others.

According to 247Sports, he is the No. 51 offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 94 prospect in Florida. He is a three-star offensive lineman.

The offer to Gordon was one of several that went out on Tuesday night from the Rutgers staff.

With good upper body strength, Gordon has the ability to be a classic Big Ten guard. He has a good frame and is nimble enough with his footwork to be able to pull and get downfield.

The Rutgers 2024 recruiting class currently stands at three commitments. The first commitment of the class came last fall from Florida quarterback Sean Ashenfelder.

What top recruits has Rutgers football offered recently?

Rutgers football has sent out several offers to top prospects in recent weeks.

As March continues to march on, Rutgers football continues to be active on the recruiting trail.

The past couple of weeks have seen several new offers go out from the Rutgers coaching staff to players in the 2025 class (and one in the 2026 class). None of the most recent offers sent out by the Scarlet Knights have been to New Jersey products.

Here are the five recruits who have been offered over the past three weeks by Rutgers football:

Feb. 27

  • Jakobe Klapper (a three-star linebacker https://www.on3.com/db/jakobe-clapper-238379/in the class of 2026 from Ohio, Klapper holds offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Oregon, Purdue and Vanderbilt)
  • Bo MacCormack (currently unranked but projects as a three-star, MacCormack is a running back prospect in the class of 2025 from Massachusetts. He holds offers from Boston College, Nebraska and Syracuse in addition to Army, Charlotte, UConn and UMass)

Feb. 28

  • Raedyn Bruens (a three-star edge rusher in the class of 2025 from Florida, Bruens holds offers from Florida A&M, Jacksonville State, FAU, UMass, South Florida, Troy, Tulane and Western Kentucky)
  • Bradley Gompers (a three-star linebacker in the class of 2025 from Pennsylvania, Gompers holds offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia)

Mar. 3

  • Steven Murray (a three-star athlete in the class of 2025 from North Carolina, Murray holds offers from Boston College and Duke)

Four-star linebacker Talibi Kaba on the ’25 class: Trying to make this the best Rutgers football class in history

Rutgers football commit Talibi Kaba talks about recruiting for the Big Ten program.

Talibi Kaba, the first New Jersey player to commit to Rutgers in the 2025 recruiting class, recently saw a bump in his recruiting rank. The now four-star linebacker is transitioning from being a recruit to a recruiter.

Kaba is very much embracing his role now as a leader of this Rutgers class. He does so with a little extra clout in his recruitment.

Last week, 247Sports elevated Kaba to a four-star status where is the No. 165 player in the nation. He is now the first four-star in the 2025 recruiting class for Rutgers.

And as one of the top players in New Jersey and the highest-ranked Scarlet Knights’ commit, Kaba is hoping to bring in other players along with him to Rutgers football.

“Most definitely, trying to make this the best Rutgers recruiting class in history,” Kaba told Rutgers Wire.

This spring, Kaba hopes to take a visit to check out a Rutgers practice. He is also planning an official visit.

“I’m going to a Rutgers spring practice and I have an official visit (in) May at Rutgers,” Kaba said.

That unofficial visit is likely for the weekend beginning May 31.

He said he won’t be taking any other visits, only to Rutgers.

As for the bump in his ranking, Kaba said it is nice but it doesn’t impact the output he is putting into this offseason.

“I mean, I’m happy but the hard work doesn’t stop,” Kaba said.

“I’m going to keep grinding, keep pushing myself to be the best version of me when I go there early.”

Charles ‘CJ’ Bell will take an official visit to Rutgers football in May

CJ Bell will be taking an official visit to Rutgers football in May.

Charles ‘CJ’ Bell will be taking an official visit this May to Rutgers football, with the Connecticut standout citing a strong recruiting push from the Big Ten program.

A 6-foot-1, 160-pound defensive back for St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Connecticut), Bell is the No. 8 recruit in Connecticut in the 2025 class. He has been offered by Boston College, Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State and Rutgers as well as several other programs.

The current Rutgers football recruiting class stands at three members, including four-star linebacker Talibi Kaba.

Bell said his visit to Rutgers will begin on May 31. He also will visit Minnesota on June 14.

“They show the most love and loyalty and that’s big in my recruitment,” Bell told Rutgers Wire on Monday.

In October, Bell took an unofficial visit to Rutgers for the game against Michigan State. That game was a huge moment for the Scarlet Knights season, with Rutgers mounting an epic comeback win against their Big Ten rival.

Rutgers, while playing the second-toughest schedule in college football, finished the season 7-6 and with a Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami.

“Greg Schiano coming back is great for Rutgers,” Bell said following his October visit. “I’m from Boston (so) me and him talked a lot about the Patriots and the McCourty brothers.”
