CJ Bell will be taking an official visit to Rutgers football in May.

Charles ‘CJ’ Bell will be taking an official visit this May to Rutgers football, with the Connecticut standout citing a strong recruiting push from the Big Ten program.

A 6-foot-1, 160-pound defensive back for St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Connecticut), Bell is the No. 8 recruit in Connecticut in the 2025 class. He has been offered by Boston College, Maryland, Notre DamePenn State and Rutgers as well as several other programs.

The current Rutgers football recruiting class stands at three members, including four-star linebacker Talibi Kaba.

Bell said his visit to Rutgers will begin on May 31. He also will visit Minnesota on June 14.

“They show the most love and loyalty and that’s big in my recruitment,” Bell told Rutgers Wire on Monday.

In October, Bell took an unofficial visit to Rutgers for the game against Michigan State. That game was a huge moment for the Scarlet Knights season, with Rutgers mounting an epic comeback win against their Big Ten rival.

Rutgers, while playing the second-toughest schedule in college football, finished the season 7-6 and with a Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami.

“Greg Schiano coming back is great for Rutgers,” Bell said following his October visit. “I’m from Boston (so) me and him talked a lot about the Patriots and the McCourty brothers.”

CJ Bell is heading to Rutgers on an official visit this summer.

One of the top athlete prospects in the Northeast is set to take an official visit to Rutgers in late May.

According to Brian Dohn of 247Sports who originally broke the news, Bell will be visiting Rutgers in late May for an official visit. A 6-foot-1, 160-pound defensive back, More is the No. 7 recruit in Connecticut in the 2025 class.

He plays for St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Connecticut).

Bell has a very solid offer list that includes Boston College, Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State and Rutgers among others.

Rutgers currently has three committed players in the 2025 recruiting class. Two players have verballed this month in three-star linebacker Talibi Kaba (the No. 12 player in New Jersey who holds offers from Boston College, Duke and Iowa State) and three-star offensive lineman Jayden Elijah (whol holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, MichiganPenn StateTennesseeTexas A&M)

The last time Bell was on campus was in mid-October when Rutgers scored three touchdowns in the second half to complete an incredible 27-24 comeback win over Michigan State.

He talked with Rutgers Wire about that win and his experience visiting the Scarlet Knights for gameday:

“It was great. We were dancing in the rain during the comeback,” Bell told Rutgers Wire after his visit.

“And dancing in the locker room after the game. I had a lot of fun.”

Rivals also ranks Bell as a three-star.

Charles ‘CJ’ Bell visited Rutgers on Saturday, giving the talented defensive back prospect a chance to catch one of the most exciting Rutgers games in the past decade.

Bell, a class of 2025 recruit at St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Connecticut), is one of the top defensive back recruits in the region. He already holds offers from Boston College, Bowling Green, UConn, UMass, Notre Dame, Penn State and Rutgers among others.

He is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound cornerback prospect.

Saturday’s game was an epic one for Rutgers. Down 18 points in the fourth quarter, Rutgers rattled off three straight touchdowns to secure a 27-24 win over Michigan State.  

“It was great. We were dancing in the rain during the comeback,” Bell told Rutgers Wire.

“And dancing in the locker room after the game. I had a lot of fun.”

With the win on Saturday, Rutgers improved to 5-2 (2-2 Big Ten).

For Bell, it was a chance to see in action to the culture that is being re-established at Rutgers in what is now the fourth year of head coach Greg Schiano. With the win, Rutgers is now a win away from bowl eligibility for the first time since 2014.

Bell’s next visit will be at Penn State on Nov. 7 for the game against Michigan.
