Reworking the offensive line named the Ravens biggest 2025 NFL off-season move

Reworking the offensive line was named the Baltimore Ravens biggest 2025 NFL off-season move to make

The Ravens have started their offseason retooling, and one of the most significant decisions will involve star left tackle Ronnie Stanley and his future with the franchise.

Baltimore will have 21 free agents and several looming contract scenarios that will significantly impact shaping this roster.  NFL.com looked at one big offseason move for the 30 teams who didn’t make the Super Bowl, and “continuing to rework the offensive line” was the Ravens’ task.

Stanley is coming off his first injury-free season in his nine-year career, and Baltimore wants to reward the offensive tackle with a huge payday. Stanley will undoubtedly have a team with a ton of money looking to add him to a potential playoff team. Rosengarten is one of the top young right tackles in the NFL and could move to left tackle if Stanley departs. Patrick Mekari is another soon-to-be free agent whom Baltimore could re-sign, with the versatility to play inside or outside. Daniel Faalele has enormous potential, and the Ravens could use a first or second-round pick on an interior offensive lineman or another tackle.

The Baltimore Ravens have started their offseason retooling, and one of the most significant decisions will involve star left tackle Ronnie Stanley and his future with the franchise.

Baltimore will have 21 free agents and several looming contract scenarios that will significantly impact shaping this roster.

ESPN revealed their top 50 free agents for 2025, and Stanley landed at No. 3 on the list.

3. Ronnie Stanley, OT
2024 team: Baltimore Ravens | Age entering 2025 season: 31

At 6-6 and 310 pounds, Stanley can use his long frame to build a wall on the edge. He played the entire regular season, answering some questions on his durability, and also has the high-end tape to get paid. Stanley tied for 11th among offensive tackles with a 92.5% pass block win rate in 2024.

Stanley signed a five-year, $98.75 million contract extension with the Ravens in 2020, with $64.166 million fully guaranteed. In 2024, Stanley reworked his contract, accepting a $7.5 million pay cut, which was guaranteed at $6 million. Stanley’s 2025 season is now a void year, and he will be a free agent in six weeks.

The 30-year-old Stanley will enter Free agency, having redeemed himself as one of the NFL’s top left tackles. Stanley had a 71.0 grade from PFF (40th), and his 79.6 pass-blocking grade was good for 21st among all NFL tackles.

Ravens have two of the top 75 players set to enter 2025 NFL free agency

Baltimore was eliminated from the postseason by the Buffalo Bills, setting the stage for one of the most critical offseasons in franchise history. With the regular season complete, PFF recently examined 2025 NFL free agency, evaluating and identifying the top 75 players available as the new league year approaches.

Baltimore has 21 players slated for free agency and two of the top 75.

8. T Ronnie Stanley, Baltimore Ravens It’s hard to argue that any player improved their free-agency stock more this season than the Ravens‘ left tackle. After a devastating ankle injury in 2021 seemed to stall his career, Ronnie Stanley was back to top form in 2024, posting an impressive 79.6 PFF pass-blocking grade through the first 12 weeks. 64. G Patrick Mekari, Baltimore Ravens Mekari logged snaps all over the offensive line, filling in wherever the Ravens needed. In 2024, that meant playing nearly every down at left guard for a revamped offensive line that markedly improved as the season went on after a rocky start. The versatility Mekari provides, with more than 500 snaps at both tackle spots before 2024, could drive his value in a major way in free agency.

The Ravens are carrying over $2,136,843 in cap space and will have $13,826,460 available for moves before any restructures, trades, or releases.

Sights and sounds from first half as Ravens hold a 21-0 lead over Steelers in AFC Wild Card game

Like a Samantha Pollino Broadway Performance, the Ravens were flawless in the first half and looked like a Super Bowl favorite, jumping out to an early 14-0 lead.

After holding Pittsburgh to a three and out, Baltimore navigated a 13-play, 95-yard drive that ate almost 8 minutes of clock to put the Ravens on the board, 7-0. The Ravens dominated offensively and ended the first half with a 21-0 lead.

Here are sights and sounds from the first half.

Baltimore holds a 14-3 lead over Cleveland in the season finale, but all fans and experts can wonder is whether Zay Flowers sustained a serious injury when he was forced to exit with a knee injury.

Flowers had one catch on two targets before exiting, and his injury came shortly after Rashod Bateman was slow to get up after a big hit. Even with the Browns playing stout defense, the Ravens are 30 minutes from clinching the AFC North.

Derrick Henry has six carries for eight yards, and the Ravens have been held to 76 yards rushing in the first half.

Several Ravens could hit contract incentives in Week 18 vs. Browns

The Baltimore Ravens enter their Week 18 showdown against the Cleveland Browns with a chance to win the AFC North and cement their place as the three-seed in the AFC with a wild-card home game entering the playoffs. Beyond that, several individual players will be playing to hit contract incentives within reach.

Veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy is one player who could hit a contract incentive against the Browns. The 33-year-old edge rusher currently leads the team with 11.5 sacks on the season. Van Noy can earn another $250,000 if he hits 12 sacks for the year and another $250,000 if he can reach 14.

Running back Justice Hill can earn another $500,000 with either eight receptions or 117 receiving yards against Cleveland. Both seem unlikely to happen, but Hill could see extensive playing time if the Ravens can pull away on the scoreboard and rest starting running back Derrick Henry ahead of the playoffs.

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley could earn a sizable amount if he is selected to a Pro Bowl or named an All-Pro for the season. A combination of 95% of the snaps played this season and a Pro Bowl selection would earn Stanley an extra $8 million, while 95% of snaps and a First-Team All-Pro selection would earn him $10 million. Stanley has currently played 98% of the team’s offensive snaps.

By making the Pro Bowl, Cornerback Marlon Humphrey will earn an extra $250,000. Humphrey has had his best season since being named an All-Pro in 2019. His six interceptions this season rank third in the NFL.

Some thought Baltimore had peaked too soon after its 24-19 loss to the Eagles, but the Ravens have been 3-0 since then, and they have had a much-needed bye week.

A team unsure about their AFC North status can win the division in Week 18 after an impressive 31-2 win over Houston on Christmas Day in front of Beyonce and a monstrous Netflix audience.

Lamar Jackson was 10-15 passing for 168 yards, two touchdowns, and a 143.9 rating.  As a rusher, Jackson carried the ball four times for 87 yards and a touchdown, moving past Michael Vick on the NFL’s all-time rushing yards list for a quarterback.

With preparation for the Browns set to begin, we’re looking at the top photos from Christmas Night.

The Ravens can smell a division title. After watching the Steelers fall to the Chiefs in the earlier game, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry have Baltimore rolling through one half in Houston. With Beyonce and Post Malone in the building, the Ravens jumped out to a 17-2 lead on the back of Jackson’s arm, Henry’s strong running, and a stingy defense that improves each week. Baltimore held Houston to 125 yards of total offense in the first half, and if not for a Texans safety, it would have been on its way to blowing out the host team on Netflix. With the second half set to begin and Beyonce’s incredible performance just finished, here are sights and sounds from the first half. ****
