The New York Giants are currently focused on solidifying their plan for 2023 as the season fast approaches. While they do that, it’s never too early for the rest of us to look into the future and wet our palates with potential draft picks in the 2024 NFL draft.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid released his 2024 mock draft this week, and he predicts the Giants will select wide receiver Rome Odunze out of Washington.

Scouts are excited about Odunze. At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he’s sure-handed and has experience with every branch of the route tree. He is the top option in what’s expected to be among the most explosive offenses in the country this upcoming season, so he will have plenty of opportunities to prove that he’s a first-round-worthy prospect. Odunze had 75 catches for 1,145 yards and seven scores last season.

The Giants have done a lot of work on their skill positions during the offseason, with a focus on offensive weapons for Daniel Jones. If they all remain healthy and play well this season, then the Giants may go a different direction with their first pick next year.

Odunze needs to have another solid season this fall as well if he wants to be considered a first-round draft pick in 2024. There are a lot of variables to consider, variables that will continue to change until the day of the draft.

For now, the Giants will continue to focus on winning with the guys they have and will worry about the draft after the season is over.

2024 NFL first-round mock draft: 2023 NBA draft edition

Now that the 2023 NBA draft is done, what better time than now to run another 2024 NFL first-round mock draft?

Now that the 2023 NBA draft is in the bag, what better excuse can we at Touchdown Wire have to do another 2024 NFL mock draft? The 2023 college football season is still weeks away, and it’s the dead part of the NFL timeline, so while we don’t think we’ll see any insane deals like the one the Wizards and Suns pulled off (unless the Rams decide to get weird again), it is time to start thinking about what NFL teams will need after the 2023 season and after 2024 free agency.

This time, the draft positions are courtesy of the Pro Football Network mock draft simulator, with no first-round trades during the simulation.

Without further ado, here’s one version of how the first round of the 2024 NFL draft might look.

Who has the most talented wide receiver room in the Pac-12?

Washington has Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan. Oregon has Troy Franklin and Tez Johnson. Who in the Pac-12 has the most talented WR room?

It’s the offseason, which means that for a large majority of the college football world, it’s time to rank things.

Be it teams, schedules, players, or recruiting classes, fans always love a chance to pit their favorite school up against the best of the best in their conference or in the nation at large, seeing how they stack up against the rest.

While we’ve spent a lot of time talking about the quarterbacks in the Pac-12 — and for good reason — we decided to take a closer look at the wide receivers in the conference this week. On Monday we ranked the top 25 pass-catchers out west, showing which QB in the Pac-12 had the best guys to throw to. Now we want to build off of that ranking and see which team is best suited when it comes to overall WR talent.

This early in the offseason, it’s hard to know which guys are going to step up and be contributors for their respective teams. While there are a handful of new names that will likely break out and burst onto the scene, that can be hard to forecast. So for these team rankings, we looked purely at the talent at the top of the depth chart. Which QB has the most talented stable of receivers at the top to choose from?

Quite simply, which school in the Pac-12 has a WR corp with the most number of top-25 receivers? When you break it down like that, the process is pretty simple. Let’s take a look.

2023 NFL draft: Washington WR won’t declare, returning for next season

On Thursday night, Odunze announced he won’t declare for the draft and will return for another season at Washington.

The Seahawks have made a habit of drafting wide receivers and cornerbacks from Washington under Pete Carroll and John Schneider. Fans who were hoping to pick up Rome Odunze in the 2023 NFL draft will have to wait at least another year, though.

On Thursday night, Odunze announced that he won’t declare for the draft this year and instead will return for another season at Washington.

Odunze (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) posted 75 catches, a team-high 1,145 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He’s the latest in a trend of Washington’s best players deciding to return for another year, including edge Bralen Trice and breakout star quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

Players have until Monday to declare.

Washington WR Rome Odunze returning to school, won’t enter 2023 NFL draft

Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze is returning for another year with the Huskies, passing up the 2023 NFL draft

One of the top pass-catchers in college football isn’t making the early jump to the pros just yet.

Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze announced via social media Thursday that he’ll be returning for the 2023 season with the Huskies, foregoing the 2023 NFL draft.

Odunze burst onto the scene with a stellar 2022 campaign, and could have easily been a first-round pick as one of the first wide receivers off the board in this year’s draft.

Returning for another year at the college level will give him an opportunity to polish his skill set even further, improving his stock for the 2024 draft.

5 Huskies Oregon needs to look out for in Northwest rivalry game

These five Washington Huskies might be the difference between an Oregon win and a UW upset in Eugene.

This is shaping up to be one of the bigger Oregon-Washington games in quite some time.

The Ducks are trying to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive and Washington would like nothing better than to crush those hopes. At 7-2 overall and 4-2 in conference action, the Huskies still have a chance to sneak into the Pac-12 title game next month.

Like Oregon, the Dawgs have been bolstered by a senior transfer quarterback that has played a lot better than originally thought. All of that should equal a good game.

Here are five different Huskies the Ducks will be sure to key in on as gameday preparations go on this week. If Oregon can hold down these five players, the good guys will go home happy and the Huskies can go back to Seattle with their proverbial tails between their legs.
