Thoughts on another Ohio State Basketball loss, its fifth straight

Another ugly conclusion. #GoBucks

Entering the New Year, the [autotag]Ohio State Buckeyes[/autotag] basketball team was 10-3 and looked like one of the best teams in the conference. New Year’s Day would be their last win, proceeding to drop five straight, their most recent tonight to a very average Nebraska team, 63-60.

It’s added to a very frustrating time for Buckeye basketball, inching towards .500 with every loss. Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] must have a warm seat right now, but with a few more losses it could be getting hotter.

Not much good came from this game, especially given the level of the opponent along with the long losing streak. This season has become increasingly frustrating and here some thoughts on the most recent loss.

What we learned about Ohio State’s rout of Maine

The Buckeyes get back in the win column and there was plenty we learned about their rout #GoBucks

The Ohio Sate basketball team got back in the win column tonight against [autotag]Maine[/autotag], as they led the game from start to finish, culminating in a 95-61 win for [autotag]the Buckeyes hoopsters[/autotag].

Even though the competition wasn’t has high as some of their previous opponents, there was plenty to learn about how [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and his team would respond after the loss to North Carolina.

There were plenty of positives from this win and there were more than a few encouraging aspects of the Buckeyes’ play as they moved their record to 8-3 on the season, with Big Ten play right around the corner.

What we learned about Ohio State following the OT loss to North Carolina

Here are some things we took away from Ohio State’s loss to North Carolina Saturday. #GoBucks

At one point during the second half, it looked as though the Buckeyes were going to pull away from the Tar Heels. But last year’s NCAA Tournament runners-up would not go away. They battled back and showed why it is so important to have veteran leadership.

The young Buckeyes struggled down the stretch, and the older UNC squad took advantage of the situation. This will be a tough loss to swallow, but there were still a few things that the Buckeyes did that will help them later in the year.

Here are a few things that we learned about [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] after their tough 89-84 overtime loss to [autotag]North Carolina[/autotag].

That was fun, wasn’t it? #GoBucks

The Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights battled a full 40 minutes on Thursday night in Columbus and an unlikely hero emerged for Ohio State. Guard Tanner Holden hit a game-winning three-point shot as time expired, giving the Bucks a 67-66 win.

The win for the Buckeyes brings their record to 7-2 with a date the reeling North Carolina next. The Tar Heels have lost their last four games and still have two more to play before hosting Ohio State.

There was a lot to take away from this game, as Rutgers is a very solid team with a star (more on that in a bit). Find out what we learned about the buzzer-beating win for Ohio State below.
