Rams Week 18 report card: Grading every position vs. 49ers

The 49ers dominated the Rams in the trenches on Sunday, which is abundantly clear on this week’s report card

The regular season didn’t end on a high note for the Rams as they lost to the 49ers in overtime on Sunday, their first loss since Week 12 against the Packers. What made the defeat even worse was that the Rams led 17-0 in the first half and 24-17 with less than two minutes to go.

But the 49ers mounted an incredible comeback, taking advantage of the Rams’ mistakes and deficiencies in the trenches. There were still a few position groups that performed relatively well, but on the whole, this report card leaves a lot to be desired.

Here’s the final regular-season report card for the Rams.

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s Cotton Bowl win over Cincinnati

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s Cotton Bowl win over Cincinnati

It’s been nearly 24 hours since No. 1 Alabama handled business in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic defeating No. 4 Cincinnati 27-6. So we are going to enjoy the next few hours of this victory before shifting our focus over to the Georgia Bulldogs.

As we reflect on Alabama’s win for just a little longer, I thought we could take a look at how each side of the ball graded out in the playoff semifinals.

Let’s get right to it!

First …the offense…

Rams Week 16 report card: Grading every position vs. Vikings

How did the Rams grade out at each spot against the Vikings on Sunday? One position group stuck out like a sore thumb in the win.

It wasn’t perfect nor the Rams’ best performance of the season, but they still managed to beat the Vikings on the road Sunday, 30-23. They won despite Matthew Stafford’s three interceptions, with two of those setting Minnesota up inside the 15-yard line.

The defense played well and Sony Michel ran like a mad man, helping make up for Stafford’s mistakes. He was really one of the few Rams players who struggled considerably in Week 16, which is reflected in our report card from Sunday’s win.

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s win over Arkansas

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s narrow victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks

No. 2 Alabama squicked by Arkansas on Saturday 42-35 inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Tide had multiple opportunities to put away the Razorbacks, but could simply not get out of their own way.

Mental miscues and self-inflicted mistakes continue to haunt the 2021 version of the Crimson Tide.

As usual, we are back with our report card on the Crimson Tide’s performance. Let’s get started!

First …the offense…

LSU vs Arkansas: The virtual report card from Saturday’s game

How are you grading the LSU Tigers?

We are wrapping up our thoughts on the LSU Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks matchup on Saturday night. The Hogs were finally able to take “The Boot” back to Fayetteville for the first time since 2015. Not the way many saw this night ending.

After two quick drives, we saw freshman quarterback Garrett Nussmeier get the call and he would remain in the game until it ended. There was no going back and forth between quarterbacks, Johnson’s leash was extremely short. As head coach Ed Orgeron said, if he was going to play the freshman it would be for significant minutes. We will see if he sticks with Nuss or goes back to Johnson this week against the Warhawks.

Defensively, I am not sure you could have asked for a better performance. They held Arkansas to just 13 points in four quarters. This coming off the heels of holding Alabama to just 20 points, both games resulting in losses but you can’t pin that on the defense. Daronte Jones had his unit ready to roll on Saturday night.

As we do each week, we are handing out grades with the virtual report card.

We start on the offensive side of the ball.

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s win over New Mexico State

Bama Report Card: Grading Alabama’s win over New Mexico State

The Tide easily handled the Aggies of New Mexico State 59-3 on Saturday. In matchups like this, it’s hard to be overly critical or overly positive on the Crimson Tide because they simply accomplished what needed to be accomplished.

Nevertheless, we are back with our weekly report card on the performance of the Alabama Crimson Tide!

Let’s get right to it!

Virtual Report Card: Grading the LSU Tigers after their 20-14 loss

Let’s hand out some grades

The LSU Tigers came oh so close to shocking the world on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. However, being close just isn’t good enough in the grand scheme of things. You can take pride in the effort but the only thing that matters are wins and losses. Since the 2019 title run, there have been far too many of those losses.

Even with the team losing the turnover battle 2-1 against the Tide, the Tigers still had an opportunity to win the game late. The ball fell harmlessly to the turf on a hail mary attempt as time expired on the Tigers.

Time to hand out grades in the LSU Tigers virtual report card. First up is the quarterback.

Colts report card: Grading Indy in the 31-3 win over Texans

Handing out grades from the Colts’ 31-3 blowout win over the Texans.

The Indianapolis Colts (2-4) got back in the win column with a dominating victory over the Houston Texans (1-5) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

It was a totally complete win from all three phases and easily the best showing of the season for the Colts. Taking into account the competition is important, of course, but this is the type of game we expected to see from the Colts before they had so many question marks.

Before we look onto their next prime-time matchup, here’s how we graded the Colts in the Week 6 win:

Report Card and Snap Counts: Cowboys ruining curve after road grading Panthers’ defense

The Cowboys passed Week 4 with flying colors, taking down the previously undefeated Panthers 36-28. Here’s how well each group performed and how much each player played. | From @Zeke_Barrera

Another week, another strong early showing for the 2021 Dallas Cowboys. Dallas has passed almost every test to begin the year, this time proving their offense is on a different level, dismantling a previously undefeated team and No. 1defense which had stymied their opponents thus far. Dallas instead comfortably hung over 400 yards of offense on them in a variety of ways, giving plenty of reason for optimism in the season to come.

But it wasn’t just the offense that earned Honor Roll honors, as multiple units on the defense also featured A+ players. The Cowboys added two more turnovers to their league-leading eight, giving them 10 through their first four games.

Here’s how the Cowboys graded out in Week 4, along with the playtime percentage breakdown.
