Final score: Chiefs defeat Falcons 22-17 in Week 3

The Kansas City #Chiefs defeated the Atlanta #Falcons 22-17 on ‘Sunday Night Football’ in Week 3.

The Kansas City Chiefs secured their third victory of the 2024 regular season on Sunday Night Football, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 22-17.

Both teams fought hard throughout the game, but Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s offense couldn’t quite get into gear against Atlanta’s impressive secondary.

With star running back Isiah Pacheco out due to an injury he sustained against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, rookie rusher Carson Steele led the Chiefs on the ground with 17 carries for 72 yards.

Kansas City’s defense showed up when it mattered most. Defensive back Chamarri Conner and linebacker Nick Bolton put together fantastic performances, with 10 and 8 combined tackles respectively.

Bolton ultimately secured the win for Kansas City late in the fourth quarter when he tackled Bijan Robinson behind the line of scrimmage on the Falcons’ final offensive play.

Now 3-0, the Chiefs will look ahead to their Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, who lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-10 earlier on Sunday.

Chiefs vs. Falcons Week 3: How to watch, listen and stream

Check out everything you need to know to watch, listen, and stream the Kansas City #Chiefs’ Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta #Falcons.

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to continue their hot start to the 2024 regular season as they head to Georgia to take on the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.

The Chiefs’ offense will be without the help of wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown and running back Isiah Pacheco after both were placed on the team’s injured reserve list.

Still, Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice are expected to build on their outstanding performances this season, and Kansas City’s offense should have no problem getting in rhythm against Atlanta’s defense.

After head coach Andy Reid announced on Friday that returning running back Kareem Hunt would not play in Sunday’s game, fans will have to wait to see their old friend in a Chiefs uniform.

Still, Chiefs Kingdom should expect to see a great game as Kansas City looks to open up its offensive playbook against Atlanta’s defense, which is allowing just over 317 yards per game.

Ringless Bengals make unoriginal joke ahead of Week 2 matchup vs. Chiefs

The #Bengals’ official Twitter account attempted to tease the #Chiefs ahead of Cincinnati’s Week 2 matchup against Kansas City.

Though the Kansas City Chiefs don’t typically goad their opponents before games, they constantly contend with trash talk online.

The Chiefs’ budding rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals always brings out a certain inferiority complex in the feline-themed franchise, which threw a sucker punch at the reigning Super Bowl champions on Twitter last night.

In their infinite wisdom, Cincinnati’s social media team made an unoriginal joke about Kansas City in an ill-advised attempt to poke the bear ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs.

In their post, the Bengals, who have never won a Super Bowl in their history, feigned incompetence relative to basic geography, which seems fitting given the team’s history of almost-unbelievable ineptitude and mediocrity.

For their part, Kansas City’s social media team didn’t respond to their ringless (and, to this point, winless) opponents, and decided to let their play do the talking.

Fans in the Buckeye State are encouraged to consult a map and crack open a history book (Kansas City, Missouri was founded before the state of Kansas) before kickoff on Sunday afternoon.

Ravens LB Roquan Smith to Chiefs TE: ‘He’d better watch himself’

#Ravens LB Roquan Smith had some feelings about Chiefs TE Peyton Hendershot’s conduct in Baltimore’s loss to the #Chiefs on Thursday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 1 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens was a chippy affair, especially after linebacker Roquan Smith got away with a late hit on Patrick Mahomes in the second half.

During the Ravens’ postgame press conference, Smith had some words for Mahomes’ teammates who retaliated to his late hit on the sideline and referenced Kansas City’s newly acquired tight end Peyton Hendershot in his comments.

“He [Mahomes] flopped,” Smith told reporters. “He flopped. That’s why the referees didn’t call [it]… That was a great no-call by the ref, but whoever 88 [Chiefs TE Peyton Hendershot] is, I don’t know who he is, but he’d better watch himself.”

When asked what happened, Smith gave his account of the post-play scrum that ensued after his hit on Mahomes.

“He did a little slick push,” the linebacker said of Hendershot. “Whoever number 88 is, I have no idea who he is, but I’ll see him when I see him.”

Though Smith had every right to lodge his complaint after the game, his protests and tough talk won’t change the outcome of the matchup, which saw Mahomes and the Chiefs emerge as victors.

Final score: Chiefs defeat Ravens 27-20 in regular season home opener

The Kansas City #Chiefs defeated the Baltimore #Ravens in Week 1 to advance their record to 1-0 in the 2024 regular season.

The Kansas City Chiefs managed to win their Week 1 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night with a final score of 27-20.

This game was a rematch of January’s AFC Championship Game, which also ended in a Chiefs victory by a seven-point margin.

Patrick Mahomes ended the game with 291 passing yards and a touchdown but threw an interception that helped keep Baltimore in the game.

Rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy was among Kansas City’s top performers against the Ravens after scoring two touchdowns and combining for 68 yards on three touches.

https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1831903823897526694

On defense, the Chiefs were led by veteran cornerback Jaylen Watson, who combined for 11 tackles in an outstanding effort.

While Kansas City’s 1-0 record speaks for itself, the defending Super Bowl champions have plenty of work to do in the coming weeks to sharpen their approach for the middle part of their regular season schedule.

Expect to see Mahomes, Worthy, and Watson in rhythm when the Chiefs face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 on September 15.

Chiefs vs. Ravens Week 1: How to watch, listen and stream

Check out everything you need to know to watch, listen, or stream the #Chiefs’ Week 1 matchup against the #Ravens on Thursday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to kick off the NFL’s 2024 regular season with a Thursday night matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, their first meeting since a dramatic 17-10 win in the AFC Championship game in January.

This game marks the start of Kansas City’s attempt to complete the NFL’s first-ever three-peat and promises to be among the best matchups on the league’s Week 1 schedule.

With veteran wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown out in Thursday’s game, the reigning Super Bowl champs will need to turn to receivers Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster to compete with the Ravens’ high-powered offense.

Fans should expect to see the teams’ newest additions fill the gap left by the temporary loss of Brown.

Chiefs, Ravens among NFL’s winningest teams over past decade

The #Chiefs and #Ravens are among the NFL’s winningest teams over the past decade.

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking ahead to their regular-season kick-off against the Baltimore Ravens.

This primetime game scheduled for September 5 should prove to be a fiery start to the NFL’s 2024 season. Both teams are expected to be among the most competitive in the AFC this year and could be headed for a conference championship game rematch next January.

According to NBC Sports, the Chiefs and Ravens are among the best teams in win percentage over the last decade.

Naturally, the current defending champions have an edge over Baltimore in this regard, with a .718 win percentage against the Ravens’ mark of  .601, which ties for sixth place with the Dallas Cowboys.

If this statistic is any indication, Kansas City’s matchup against Baltimore at Arrowhead Stadium next week should make for compelling television.

Stay tuned to see which team improves their winning percentage with a 1-0 start to the 2024 season on Thursday night.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce purchases stake in race horse ‘Swift Delivery’

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce purchased a stake in a race horse named “Swift Delivery” this week ahead of Kansas City’s regular season kickoff.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce purchased a stake in a racehorse, as reported by America’s Best Racing on Twitter.

The name of the horse?

“Swift Delivery.”

It seems only natural that Kelce would have wanted to buy an ownership share of the winning thoroughbred after he saw the name.

As a shareholder Kelce will not have full ownership of Swift Delivery and will likely not be present for all the races due to his schedule with the Chiefs but there will certainly be more horse racing appearances for Kelce in the future.

America’s Best Racing shared the news on Twitter, revealing the next race for Swift Delivery this Saturday in the Toronto Cup at Woodbine:

Perhaps Kelce will show up at Woodbine to cheer on his newly purchased racehorse while the Chiefs are taking time off ahead of the NFL Kickoff scheduled for primetime on September 5 when Kansas City hosts the Baltimore Ravens.

Fan-favorite WR Justyn Ross to sign with Chiefs practice squad

Fan-favorite WR Justyn Ross landed back with the #Chiefs’ practice squad after Kansas City released him earlier this week.

Although Justyn Ross wasn’t consistent enough in the preseason to earn a spot on the Kansas City Chiefs’ 53-man roster, the fan-favorite wide receiver is set to land back on the team’s practice squad.

Ross has had some noteworthy moments on the field, but inconsistency and availability issues made it hard for Brett Veach and Andy Reid to justify carrying him on Kansas City’s active roster at the start of the 2024 season.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the same source that revealed Ross’ release earlier in the week, broke the news on Twitter that Ross would be signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad on Wednesday:

This is good news for the former Clemson Tiger. He will get more time in Kansas City to show what he is capable of and ideally land a spot future roster spot.

Stay tuned to see if the Chiefs elevate Ross to the 53-man roster during the regular season.

Alex Smith digs deep in interview with Chiefs TE Travis Kelce

See what Travis Kelce had to say about his relationship with Patrick Mahomes during an interview conducted by former #Chiefs QB Alex Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs have relied on the connection between Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes to help lift their offense to new heights in recent seasons after the departure of dynamo wide receiver Tyreek Hill in 2022.

Though the duo’s accomplishments are many, Kelce’s star was born before Mahomes took over as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, during Alex Smith’s tenure as Kansas City’s signal-caller between 2013 and 2017.

Kelce caught up with Smith during a recent interview on Sirius XM and spoke about his relationship with Mahomes ahead of the Chiefs’ championship defense campaign.

Check out what Kelce had to say in this video, which was posted by SiriusXM NFL Radio on Twitter:

Kelce’s relationship with Mahomes is one-of-a-kind and has been a key part of the pair’s success over the years.

Keep your eyes on the All-Pro tight end-quarterback combo when the Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL’s regular season kickoff on September 5.
